Rihanna taking no wardrobe risks for Malaysia show

Thank God Rihana doesn't have to cover up over here! AP

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — The good girl gone bad has promised to be good for one night. R&B sensation Rihanna will shun skimpy outfits when she performs in Malaysia next month, the concert's organizers said Tuesday, becoming the latest international star affected by the Muslim-majority country's strict rules on performers' dress.

Recent concerts by Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne faced protests by conservative Muslim Malaysians over immodest clothes. Stefani eventually made what she called "a major sacrifice" at her show by donning attire that revealed little skin.

Under government guidelines, a female performer must be covered from the top of her chest, including her shoulders, to her knees.

Muslim rule on east African islands oppressing Christians

I guess these muslims didn't get the memo that islam is a peaceful and tolerant religion. Inspire Magazine

Christians on the predominantly Muslim islands of Pemba and the Comoros archipelago are beaten, detained and banished for their faith, according to church leaders who travel regularly to the Indian Ocean isles off the east coast of Africa.

These violations of religious freedom, the church leaders said, threaten the survival of Christianity on Pemba and the Comoros, with fewer than 300 Christians in a combined population of 1.1 million people. Pemba, with about 300,000 people, is part of Tanzania, while the Union of the Comoros is a nation unto itself of about 800,000.

Leaving Islam for Christianity accounts for most of the harm done to Christians, and this year saw an increase in such abuse as already-strained relations between the two communities deteriorated after the conversion in August of Sheikh Hijah Mohammed, leader of a key mosque in Chake-Chake, capital of Pemba.

Turkey holds suspicious Iranian shipment to Venezuela

Turkey has been investigating a suspicious shipment from Iran to Venezuela. The shipment was labeled tractor parts but Turkish authorities say the shipment contains lab equipment to make explosives.

An Iranian official claims the containers hold nothing of importance. Of course not, just an explosives lab kit for Hizbollah agents operating in Venezuela. International Herald Tribune

ANKARA, Turkey: Turkey was holding a suspicious shipment bound for Venezuela from Iran because it contained lab equipment capable of producing explosives, a customs official said Tuesday.

Suleyman Tosun, a customs official at the Mediterranean port of Mersin, said military experts were asked to examine the material, which was seized last month, and decide whether to let the shipment to go to Venezuela.

Authorities detected the equipment during a search of 22 containers labeled "tractor parts," Tosun said. They were brought to Mersin by trucks from neighboring Iran, he said. Turkey's Interior Ministry said an investigation was under way.

Sudan protesters call for attacks on Westerners: U.S.

Ahhhh ! Stupidity ! So the people of the Sudan , one of the most screwed up part's of the world ,A place where they suffer from , Civil unrest , Genocide , Famine , Human right's violation's , and just an all around horrible place to live ! As if they don't have anything else to bitch about ! now they want to attack westerners because Israel is fighting Hamas ! Makes sense to me ?

KHARTUOM (Reuters) - Sudanese protesters have called for attacks on Americans and other foreigners living in Khartoum during rallies against the Gaza offensive, U.S. officials said Wednesday.

Students and religious groups have held small-scale protests almost every day since Israel started the attack on Gaza it says is in response to Islamist militants firing rockets into Israel.

The U.S. embassy in Khartoum said some protesters "have made threats against U.S. and other Western citizens in Sudan."
....

At least one speaker at a rally outside the embassy on Monday read out read out a list of places and neighborhoods where Westerners are known to gather, the embassy said.

The list included Khartoum's Afra shopping center; Amwag, a Middle Eastern restaurant; and O-Zone, an open air cafe popular with Westerners and rich Sudanese.

The threats come against the backdrop of an expected ruling from the International Criminal Court on whether to issue an arrest warrant against Sudan's president over suspected war crimes in Darfur.

A senior official from Sudan's Foreign Ministry told Reuters Monday an arrest warrant would fuel anti-Western sentiments already heightened by Gaza and promised to give diplomats advance warning if they were in danger.

Sudanese officials have said the global court's case is part of a Western conspiracy against Khartoum, led by the United States, Britain and France.

The U.S. embassy said protesters were hoping to hold a large rally in the capital Wednesday or Thursday, and advised its citizens to keep a low profile.

The United States advised its staff to stay away from O-Zone cafe in October, saying it had evidence a group called "Al Qaeda in the Land of the Two Niles" had threatened U.S. citizens.

The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court asked judges in July to issue an arrest warrant for President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, accusing him of orchestrating genocide in Sudan's western Darfur region. The judges are widely expected to decide on his request in coming weeks.

International experts say 200,000 have died since mostly non-Arab rebels in Darfur took up arms against the government in 2003, accusing Khartoum of neglect.

2,000 Afghan youths ready to go to Gaza: MPs

It's good to see the youth of Afghanistan ready to fight for something , To bad it is for a lost cause !
I would not call any of Hamas "Helpless palestinian Muslims" , The building and launching of Qassam rockets ,Does take some talent , They have managed to terrorize Israel for years , it's only when they are confronted by a "real" Military that they look like Cowards ! I mean Helpless !

Dawn

KABUL, Jan 6: Lawmakers in Afghanistan said on Tuesday that 2,000 Afghan youths were ready to go to Gaza to defend Palestinians from Israeli attacks, warning the strikes could lead to a worldwide Muslim uprising.

A declaration drawn up by the legislators, who are not sitting but met in a special session to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip, was read out to journalists by the secretary of the Lower House, Abdul Satar Khawasi.

Lawmakers called the strikes, which began on Dec 27 in response to rocket attacks from Gaza, “barbaric and tyrannical.” “Some 2,000 youths from different provinces of our country are ready to go to the Gaza Strip and defend the helpless Palestinian Muslims,” the statement said, without giving details.
....

It warned that if “invasions” of Palestinian territory were to continue, the defence of Muslim lands would grow into a “worldwide uprising by... Muslims of the world against infidels.” The lawmakers also accused US President George Bush of “justifying this horrifying Israeli crime” by refusing to stand against it, and chided other world leaders for keeping silent.

There have been protests for several days across Afghanistan against Israel’s military offensive, in which more than 580 Palestinians, including nearly 100 children, have been killed.

The protesters have also criticised Israel’s ally, the United States, Afghanistan’s main provider of military and financial support in its fight against an Islamic insurgency and attempts to rebuild after decades of war.—AFP

Afghans, Pakistan fight militants together-Zardari

This sounds good , Almost too good ! that's why I have A bit of doubt About the whole thing ! Both sides do fight the Taliban when they have to , But I seriously Doubt that these two countries will attack the Taliban , Without being pushed into doing it !

KABUL (Reuters) - Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari met his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai in Kabul on Tuesday, pledged cooperation in the fight against militants in both countries and called for wider regional understanding.

Relations between Kabul and Islamabad, both U.S. allies but troubled by border disputes in the past, have improved in recent months with the arrival of the new government in Pakistan.

In the past, Afghan officials have often accused elements in Pakistani state agencies of helping the Taliban, ousted from power in Kabul but retaining sanctuaries in the tribal areas along the rugged Afghan-Pakistan border.

Zardari, speaking on his first visit to Kabul as president, told a news conference Pakistan was ready to fight side by side with Afghanistan against the resurgent Taliban.
....

The two neighbors needed international help, but could do the job better themselves than outsiders could, he said.

"We want to tell the world today together, standing shoulder to shoulder, that we are together in this fight against these non-state actors who have taken nations and countries, and in fact superpowers, to war," Zardari said.

Asked if he would let foreign troops enter Pakistani territory to help fight militants in volatile border areas, Zardari said all the two countries needed was support.

"To the world we say, 'Help us. We can fight. We can look after ourselves ... all we need is the support. Given the proper support, we can do the job better, and cheaper, and easier than you can do it'," he said.

The United States, frustrated by the intensifying Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan, has carried out several missile attacks and a helicopter-borne ground assault on militants in Pakistan that have angered many Pakistanis.

Czech Cardinal: Europe headed for muslim future

It always comes down to demographics. Aktualne

Cardinal Vlk expressed strong disapproval of Islamic fundamentalism. "It is abuse of the Quran in the name of power. Islamic fundamentalism sets if someone does not live according to God, he must be killed. That is absurd," said Cardinal Vlk.

He believes in the dialogue between Christians and Muslims but "in terms of culture and opinions Islam is medieval".

"I do not want to sound negative... but in Islam a religion assumes the position of the state power and rules the people. Our European Christian experience proved that it is not the right way," said Cardinal Vlk.
....
Demographically dying out, Cardinal Vlk expects Europe to become markedly more Muslim in the 21st century because of the low fertility of Europeans the majority of whom are non-believers. It is a well-known fact that countries that are secularized reproduce more slowly than countries that are more pious.

"Muslims in Europe have much more children than Christian families. That is why demographers have been trying to come up with a time when Europe will become Muslim," Cardinal Vlk claimed.

While European Muslims are living their religion, Europeans are "pagans, as they do not respect their religion". To face the danger of dying out, Europe needs to install a program of spiritual rehabilitation.

"If we do not restore Europe in terms of Christian values, we will surely die out," Cardinal Vlk said.

Hamas sees this battle against Israel as simple war for islam

Its always for islam, the terorrist attacks, suicide bombings, rocket attacks etc... Belfast Telegraph

People need to understand what Hamas stand for,. Make no mistake this group see no other solution apart from Jihad (Holy war) as the way forward. Hamas see this not just as a battle for a piece of land but a war for Islam itself. Again a quote from their charter (The imperialistic forces in the Capitalist West and the Communist East, support the enemy with all their might, in money and in men. These forces take turns in doing that. The day Islam appears, the forces of infidelity would unite to challenge it, for the infidels are of one nation).

Hamas will oppose anything and anyone including Palestinian people who want to live in peace unless under their terms and conditions. The vast majority of Palestinian and Israeli people want to live in peace side by side.

It was Hamas who ripped up the ceasefire document and the next day fired 90 rockets into Israel. Hamas also fired over 3,500 rockets into Israel during the ceasefire. It has to be noted these rockets are not crude home made rockets and bring over 800,000 Israeli civilians within range.

Britain takes 4 taliban strongholds

Over the Christmas holidays, British troops along with Dutcch, Estonian and Afghan soldiers conducted Operation Sond Chara in order to provide more security for Lashkar Gah. Earlier in the year the taliban made a couople of large and daring attacks on Lashkar Gah which proved to be epic failures. The operation resulted in the capture of 4 taliban strongholds and more than 100 taliban killed.

British troops were involved in heavy fighting every single day of the 18 day operation. Some troops had to simultaneously fight the taliban and negotiate their way through trenches of mud. During one point in the operation British marines were involved in hand to hand combat with the enemy.BBC

British troops in Afghanistan captured four key Taleban strongholds after an 18-day offensive in Helmand Province, the Ministry of Defence has revealed.

Afghan and coalition forces joined 1,500 UK troops for the pre-Christmas operation around Nad-e-Ali, which cost the lives of five UK servicemen.

They fought knee-deep in mud during First World War-style trench battles.

It was one of the largest operations mounted by Royal Marines since the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the MoD said.

Indian PM fingers Pakistani angencies for Mumbai attacks

"There is enough evidence to show that, given the sophistication and military precision of the attack, it must have had the support of some official agencies in Pakistan,"Guardian

prime minister today accused "official agencies" in Pakistan of being behind the Mumbai terrorist attacks, raising hackles in its nuclear-armed neighbour.

In an address to his country's elected officials, the prime minister, Manmohan Singh, offered his strongest views on the three-day assault by "terrorists" which left more than 170 dead.

It comes a day after Delhi handed over a dossier that it says incriminates Pakistani groups and nationals who were involved in a "criminal conspiracy". India has demanded that those responsible be extradited and tried in Indian courts, a demand which Pakistan's prime minister has dismissed.

"There is enough evidence to show that, given the sophistication and military precision of the attack, it must have had the support of some official agencies in Pakistan," said Singh.

Iran wants to show regional power over Gaza crisis

Prepare for more B.S. out of Iran , Ahmadinejihad , Is piping up again and would like the U.S to be nice now ! Oh , if WE cooperate with them ! One day I hope to see A politician in the U.S. to tell these jackass's to piss-off , That would be one of the greatest political moments ever !

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran wants to send a message to the new U.S. administration and Arab governments that it is a power to be reckoned with in the region by championing the cause of its Palestinian ally, Hamas, in its fight with Israel.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, expected to seek re-election in June, may also have found a cause to muzzle criticism of his economic management and tumbling oil revenues, analysts say.

But Tehran's outspoken support for Hamas and criticism of the response by some Arab states could backfire if it wins over the Arab public but, in doing so, pushes wary Arab governments closer toward the United States in its dispute with Iran.
....

Washington accuses Tehran of seeking a nuclear bomb, which Iran denies. The row is likely to be near the top of President-elect Barack Obama's foreign policy in-tray, though Gaza may now trump it bringing another benefit to Iran from the crisis.

"The message from the Iranians (to Washington) is there is give and take. We can help you in Afghanistan, we can help you in Iraq, we can help you with Lebanon and Palestine, if you have good relations with us," said Iranian analyst Baqer Moin.

"We are a regional power and you have to acknowledge that and talk to us on that level if you want us to be cooperative on issues where you need us," the London-based analyst said.

Gaza's plight -- more than 560 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli attacks -- has drawn sympathy from Iranians frustrated like many other Muslims at what they see as a limited international response to end fighting.

But hardliners have been most vocal backing the Palestinian cause, a pillar of the Islamic Republic since the revolution and a way Iran has fashioned itself a leader of the Muslim world although it is mainly Shi'ite and most Muslims are Sunni.

Iranian Revolutionary Guards urge muslims to defend Gaza

It's in the mullahacracy's best interests to prolong the current conflict between Israel and Hamas. This conflict keeps the world's attention away from Iran's nuclear weapons program, and maybe most importantly keeps Israel occupied.

Some analysts predicted Israel would strike at Iran's nuclear installations sometime between the US elections and the inauguration ceremony. However, with Israel busy pounding Hamas into the ground, an airstrike inside Iran seems unlikely. Xinhuanet

TEHRAN, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Sunday called on world Muslims to defend Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the official IRNA news agency reported.

In a statement released on Sunday, IRGC invited world Muslims to "defend the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza Strip" and urged "Muslims of the world should stay united against world arrogance, the criminal Zionists in particular."

The statement also asked Muslim nations "to line up against wicked party with more solidarity than ever", according to the report.

Taliban can't count; claim they killed 5200 NATO troops

That's what happens when all you learn is the quran. AP

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The Taliban has long exaggerated its military successes, but its recent claim that it killed more than 5,000 foreign troops in Afghanistan last year may be the militia's most startling yet.

The Taliban said last week on its Web site that it killed 5,220 U.S. and NATO troops in 2008 — an exaggerated figure nearly 20 times the official death toll.

The insurgents also said they downed 31 aircraft last year. Its fighters destroyed 2,818 NATO and Afghan vehicles and killed 7,552 Afghan soldiers and police, according to a statement from a spokesman.

The true damage inflicted on U.S. and NATO fighters over the last year has been "repeatedly hidden by the enemy and they have controlled the media by using money, power and their lies," the statement said.

Analysis: Hamas Victimize Citizens to Establish its Reign

Here is one of those nice tidbits you wish the MSM would read before they make up their mind ! As I was watching some CNN news at the Dallas Airport (DFW)I was disgusted by the Coverage of this conflict ! the constant "Is Hamas at fault or is Israel just being a big mean bully ?" Humanitarian Crisis , Humanitarian crisis , What the hell !!! I , by no means have enough time to pay attention to everything going on in the world ! but I do Know that Hamas is a terrorist group , trying to kill all the "Jews" and they lob crappy homemade rockets into Israel to try and achieve this !!! And when a seasoned news anchor Seems to " Not get it " It can be the most disgusting thing to watch !

Epoch times
TEL AVIV—Hamas did not receive the support it had hoped for from other Arab governments after the Israeli raids in Gaza. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) attacks were even half-heartedly accepted in countries. The fact that even Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority and Ahmed Abu Algheit, Egypt’s foreign minister, blamed Hamas for being responsible for the attacks can imply something about Hamas’s positions in the area.

Abu Algheit attacked Hamas in the strongest words. Since the beginning of operation “Cast Lead,” the divide between Egypt and Hamas is widening. Up until now, Egypt tried to mediate an agreement between Israel and the Hamas; now, it seems, Egypt is a bit fed up with it. The prospect of an organized Hammasic state in the Gaza strip frightens the Egyptians as it frightens the Israelis, since the Islamist Palestinian terror organization is rooted not in the Palestinian territory, but in the Islamist opposition to Mubarak’s regime—the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. After a year of Hamas rule in Gaza, its true aims are starting to surface.
....

An Islamic Emirate

In contrast to Hamas’s reassurance that it will not turn the Gaza strip to an Emirate that is ruled by Islamic religious law, since it’s forceful takeover of the strip, Sharia (the Islamic law) had become the primary law in Gaza. After the takeover last year, many in Gaza started to grow beards, due to harassment of those with “secular” appearance by Hamas security forces. The Islamic Legal Committee had been formed to replace the district attorney’s office because lawyers did not appear for work. Furthermore, Hamas’s full control over the media and education system allows it to further indoctrinate Gaza youth.
Free Elections?

Hamas has seemingly won its reign after receiving its legitimacy from the Palestinian public in democratic elections urged by the United States. Actually, after a few months in which the Palestinian Authority has suffered isolation from the international community, Hamas has taken over Gaza forcefully and occupied it from Abu Mazen and founded an alternative government with all of its institutions. Hamas is ruling by violent repression against Fatah and other movements, and it was also strengthening its own governmental and military apparatuses.

Despite Hamas’s success within the Palestinian populace it did not grow from within the Palestinian people, but was imported to the Palestinian territory from Egypt. Ahmad Yaseen, who founded Hamas, was a former Muslim Brotherhood activist. One of Hamas’s main pipelines is a network of welfare and charity organizations that are used as tools to spread to inject Hamas’s ideas within the Palestinian people and increase their support, as well as a tool to collect money.
Propaganda War

Since Hamas has established itself has the ruler de facto of the Gaza strip, it has built a closed hierarchal governmental organization with inner police, a military force that is supposed to fight against Israel, and organized governmental institutions. Before its takeover it had already enjoyed huge financial support from Islamic charity organizations from all over the world. This money was primarily used to strengthen welfare organizations, cultural organizations, and health and education institutions, but was also a way to get public support. Before the takeover, these organizations were acting as oppositional organizations undermining the Palestinian Authority apparatuses.

After it took over Gaza, the civil infrastructure replaced the governmental welfare systems that were not functioning due to the financial difficulties of Hanya’s regime. These welfare organizations were turned into another force of the Hamas regime and they are covering its failures. The private education system operated by these organizations is taking the place of the governmental educational system and is injecting the values of Hamas into the youth.

In addition to the propaganda apparatus inside Palestinian society, Hamas is also having a propaganda war against Israel in order to give legitimacy to its reign from the international community. Hamas knows how to take advantage of the international media with which it portrays itself as a victim who is being attacked, and one who guards the Palestinian people.
The Real Battle

According to a survey that was held in the Palestinian populace and was published in “Al Hayat” newspaper, 74 percent of the Palestinians supported a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The same survey shows that the number of people supporting Fatah is twice as big as the number of people supporting Hamas. Most of the people questioned said the main issue to consider in the next elections in the Palestinian Authority is going to be the siege on Gaza and improving their lifestyles. Hamas, like the Lebanon-based Hezbollah, based its rocket launchers inside civil areas.

Although IDF said the attacks were precise, U.N. data show that dozens of civilians were killed during the IAF attacks. The Palestinian citizens, who according to what the survey showed basically want to live normal life, were compelled to be part of a game that Hamas is playing at their expense, in order to establish its reign.

Gaza to be Israeli "graveyard": Iran's Larijani

A couple thoughts on this , One , I seriously doubt this will be the graveyard of Too many Israeli Soldiers , They are just to well equipped to be slaughtered in the streets , Sure there will be some deaths , but I don't think it will be a Slaughter !
Two , Does Iran Know something the rest of the world does not ? They said that if Israel goes in on the ground , that it would not be good ! You know one of those evasive ,under the breath threat's ! If something dramatic happens ,from the Palestinian side of things ,Most likely Iran will have had something to do with it !

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Gaza will become Israel's graveyard, the speaker of Iran's parliament was quoted as saying on Sunday after the Jewish state launched a ground offensive deep into the coastal Palestinian territory.

Israeli tanks and infantry battled Hamas fighters in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, hours after launching a ground offensive after eight days of deadly air strikes failed to halt the Islamist group's rocket attacks on Israel.

"The Zionists faced the powerful resistance of the zealous Palestinians ... the Zionists should know that Gaza will become their graveyard," Mehr News Agency quoted speaker Ali Larijani as telling parliament.

MPs shouted "down with Israel, down with the Zionists," Mehr reported. Larijani's comments were the first reaction by a senior Iranian figure to Israel's offensive into Gaza.

Iran does not recognize Israel, which has accused Tehran of supplying Hamas with weapons. Iran denies the allegation, saying it provides only moral support to the group.

Israel's attacks on Gaza have sparked repeated protests in Tehran and elsewhere in Iran, mainly by students. Iranian officials have condemned what they say is international inaction and bias toward Israel.
....Heads up IDF !

British military sources have told The Daily Telegraph that they believe that some of those Britons have been killed fighting against their own country's forces.

The revelation comes amid growing concern among British military and intelligence officials about militants based in Pakistan launching attacks on British interests in Afghanistan and at home.

Crackdown lays bare China's harder stance

With all the Bullshit China pulls ,on its people and the world ,
I love to here stuff like this !
I hope this group turns into a giant pain in the Communist Countries ASS !
But I also hope that none of the people who have signed the charter ,are detained ,jailed , put into forced labor camps , or never heard from again !
Which looks to be what China is moving in to do ! The Bastards .

FT.Com
China celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights last month by detaining prominent dissidents across the country.

Their apparent transgression was signing their names to "Charter 08", a manifesto published on the internet on December 10 calling for all Chinese citizens inside and outside the government to embrace the "rapid establishment of a free, democratic and constitutional country" and the end of one-party authoritarian rule by the Communist party.

Many of the signatories are prominent establishment intellectuals not known for their radical views or political activism. In private, Chinese intellectuals are calling Charter 08 the most significant document of its kind for at least a decade and probably since the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.
....

Beijing clearly sees it as a serious challenge to its authority at a time when rising unemployment and a cooling economy are heightening social tensions. The country's efficient repression apparatus has swung into action, with at least 70 of the 303 people who initially signed the charter summoned or interrogated.

While the government has recently tried hard to portray itself as more open to dissent, it has now clearly shifted to a tougher stance.

Beijing moved yesterday to silence parents of victims of the poisoned milk scandal, underscoring the determination to quell unauthorised action in response to social and economic problems.

Zhao Lianhai, the organiser of a network of parents whose children fell ill after consuming baby formula tainted with the industrial chemical melamine, was detained as his group prepared to lobby the government jointly for continued free treatment for their children and other victims.

Mr Zhao said he was being held by police at a compound outside Beijing where police formerly held people who were to be sent to labour camps.

"There are more than 20 police watching me here, and they are not letting me go," Mr Zhao said when contacted by the Financial Times on his mobile phone. "I protest [at] this illegal treatment."

In a separate case, parents of children killed when their schools collapsed in the May 12 Sichuan earthquake told the FT this week they had been warned that continuing to pursue compensation and talking to foreign journalists were illegal activities that would land them in jail.

China has no such laws, according to rights groups and lawyers.

Charter organisers say it is these sorts of cases that they are trying to tackle.

"As these conflicts and crises grow ever more intense. . . the decline of the current system has reached the point where change is no longer optional," according to Charter 08.

All mention of the charter in Chinese is blocked from websites, search engines and even e-mails. Propaganda officials have banned domestic media from interviewing any signatories or publishing any of their work.

According to Amnesty International, the authorities now consider the charter a "counter-revolutionary platform", a likely sign that signatories will be dealt with more harshly.

Liu Xiaobo, a prominent literary critic and dissident who helped organise the charter, has been held in an undisclosed location for nearly a month without contact with family or a lawyer.

His detention, which apparently violates China's laws, prompted a long list of academics, legal experts, writers and Nobel prize winners, including Salman Rushdie, Seamus Heaney and Umberto Eco, to send an open letter to Hu Jintao, the Chinese president, last week.

Some other signatories to the charter have come under more subtle pressure. Xu Youyu, professor of philosophy at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a government think-tank, was asked by a senior academy official at his academy for details of the charter, and then told the document was illegal and ordered to retract his signature.

"In fact the charter is consistent with China's own constitution and in line with the United Nations human rights conventions that China has already signed and I absolutely refuse to retract my support for this document," Prof Xu told the FT. "I'm not scared, even if they take away my job."

The intimidation and threats have done nothing to damp enthusiasm for the charter among Chinese intellectuals at home and abroad, and the number of signatories has risen to about 7,000.

Hamas Rockets Made in China

The Chinese have their hands in everything ! Another good reason to boycott them !

The EpochTimes
TEL AVIV, Israel—The Israel-based Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center reports that the rockets fired by the Hamas are contraband from mainland China. Hamas is a terrorist organization that took control on the Gaza strip by force in 2007.

"It was revealed that the rockets were contraband from China. The experts who liquidated the rockets saw that it was made in China," said Hagai Huberman, an Israeli Military Correspondent to the Makor Rishon newspaper, to New Tang Dynasty Television.

Chinese communist authorities have been accused of selling weapons to Hamas before. In 2006 a Paris-based intelligence newsletter reported that Chinese Ministry of State Security official, Gong Xiaosheng, worked with Hamas militants.

In a separate case in August this year, a group of Israeli terror victims alleged that the Bank of China assisted terrorist attacks by allowing the transfer of money to Hamas. According to their lawyer Nitzana Darshan-Leitner, Chinese authorities were informed about it but did nothing to stop it.

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Nine Muslims, including three children, were ordered off a domestic US flight after two other passengers heard them making what they thought were suspicious remarks about security, media said Friday.

The passengers, eight of whom are US citizens, were in Washington Thursday afternoon on an AirTran flight bound for Orlando, Florida where they were to attend a religious retreat, and were eventually cleared for travel by the FBI, the Washington Post reported.

The airline and FBI called the incident a misunderstanding, but AirTran reportedly refused to rebook the passengers, who had to pay for seats on another carrier.

U.S. steel industry urges "buy America" recovery plan

Buying and Using American Products could Possibly be the best thing we could do to help the Economy , Using American Steel in all the Projects the Obamasiah Has been talking about ,is a win, win situation for American's everywhere !
It used to be a rule that on Government jobs , You had to use American goods !
It should in times like these be the way everything is built !

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The ailing U.S. steel industry is pressing President-elect Barack Obama for a public works plan that could be worth $1 trillion over two years to boost flagging demand for U.S.-made steel, the New York Times reported in Friday's editions.

Daniel DiMicco, chairman and chief executive of Nucor Corp, a giant steel maker, told the paper the industry was asking the incoming administration to "deal with the worst economic slowdown in our lifetime through a recovery program that has in every provision a 'buy America' clause."

The industry supports building mass transit systems, bridges, electric power grids, schools, hospitals and water treatment plants -- all of which would require large amounts of steel.
....

"We are sharing with the president-elect's transition team our thoughts in terms of the industry's policy priorities," Nancy Gravatt, a spokeswoman for the American Iron and Steel Institute, was quoted as saying.

Obama, who is to be sworn in as president on January 20, has not revealed details of his soon-to-be-announced plan for spurring the weakest economy since the Great Depression more than 70 years ago. Aides have indicated most of the package will probably go into infrastructure spending rather than tax breaks.

"If the president-elect really follows through, he'll fund a lot of mass transit projects," said Wilbur Ross, a Wall Street dealmaker who put together a steel conglomerate known as Arcelor Mittal USA.

"All the big cities have these projects ready to go."

Since September, U.S. steel output has plunged about 50 percent to its lowest point since the 1980s, largely because construction and auto production have fallen sharply.

The fall-off in production of appliances, machinery and other electrical equipment has also reduced steel orders, sending the price of a ton of steel down by half since late summer.

Industry executives are "adding their voices to pleas for a huge public investment program of up to $1 trillion over two years," the Times reported.

Imports, which account for about 30 percent of all steel sales in the United States, are also hurting as customers disappear, the paper said.

Taliban Kill 20 Afghan Bodyguards

With the Regularity that the Taliban are receiving their 72 virgins (Male Goats) these guys are sure to be taken out soon !!!

VOA
Afghan officials say Taliban militants have ambushed a district chief's convoy and killed 20 of his bodyguards in the southern province of Helmand.

Authorities reported Thursday that Mullah Abdul Salaam, the chief of Musa Qala district and a former Taliban member, survived the attack unharmed.

A Taliban spokesman said two militant fighters died and four others were wounded in the ambush Wednesday in Helmand's Kajaki district.

The Taliban controlled Musa Qala for much of 2007, until Afghan and international forces pushed them out in a major security operation.

Still, the militants remain in control of several other districts in Helmand, one of Afghanistan's main drug-producing regions.

US Hands Over Green Zone Authority to Iraq

Some more excellent news !
One of the final And important things that needed to be done ! now that there is an Iraqi flag Flying over Saddam's Former Palace , Maybe people in Iraq will start feeling a little better about things ! And maybe help make that final push for their full control of their country !

VOA
U.S. forces in Iraq have handed over control of Baghdad's Green Zone to the Iraqi government. Iraqi officials hailed the move, which was mandated under a new U.S. Iraq security arrangement that also calls for U.S. forces to withdraw from Iraq by 2011.
An Iraqi army band played the country's national anthem, during the handover ceremony, as the Iraqi flag was raised over the presidential palace for the first time since a U.S.-led invasion toppled the regime of Saddam Hussein in April 2003.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki presided over the emotional ceremony. Addressing a crowd in the foyer of the Presidential Palace, Maliki described the historic moment.
....

He says that Iraqis should consider today the day of sovereignty and a new beginning, where Iraq regains every bit of its soil, in addition to its national will and sovereignty.

Mr. Maliki also put the event into historic perspective, arguing that this latest achievement puts a symbolic end to the old regime of Saddam Hussein.

The prime minister said everyone must ask himself what the return of the Presidential Palace means, in addition to other achievements like the end of U.N. sanctions and the end of military occupation, as well as the return of Iraq's sovereignty and public places. He concludes that it all means that Iraq has put an end to the old regime - of Saddam Hussein - and its bad policies.

U.S. forces handed over the Republican Palace at the stroke of midnight, to symbolize the beginning of the new military agreement between Iraq and the United States, which symbolically starts with the New Year and lasts until 2011.

Major General David Perkins, who attended the handover ceremony, also insisted that the moment marks a new beginning for Iraq:

"The transition of the Green Zone control from coalition forces to Iraqi forces is considered the first step in the implementation of this agreement. Here is Iraq taking another step toward the future, signaling to its citizens and the international community it is indeed a new day for sovereign Iraq," he said.

Iraqi Defense Minister Abdul Qadir Mohammed Jasim told the gathering that Iraq is capable of maintaining security in the nine-square-kilometer Green Zone, which has come under repeated insurgent attack during the past five years.

He says that Iraq has a special military unit assigned to take control of and protect the Green Zone, as well as to protect sensitive areas inside it. He says that the new unit is being called the Baghdad Brigade.

The new Baghdad Brigade will take orders from Prime Minister Maliki, although U.S. forces will continue to help supervise entry points into the zone.

Iraqi military spokesman Major General Qassim Atta told Iraqi television his men have all the latest cameras and equipment to control the Green Zone securely, and that U.S. forces would withdraw from it "gradually."

Israeli strike kills Hamas political leader

Great news out of Gaza ! Another Hamas Leader has been killed !
I hear that A lot of people think that Israel Is just slaughtering Palestinians ! As of this morning Israel Has killed around 400 plus Palestinian/hamas people , About a quarter of that has been civilians , All in about six days !
On the other hand , Hamas ,Since 2004 has Killed 400 or so Isralis ,In about 425 Attacks ,Most of which were Civilians ! Not to forget that there were Thousands of Qassam (or "ESTES" as I like to call them ) rockets launched into Israel !
It sounds just about even , But whats worse six days (so far) Of living hell ?
Or six years of absolute terror ( So Far ) ?

GAZA (Reuters) - Israel killed a senior Hamas leader in an air attack on his home on Thursday, striking its first deadly blow against the top ranks of the Islamist group in a Gaza offensive that has claimed more than 400 Palestinian lives.

Nizar Rayyan, a cleric widely regarded as one of Hamas's most hardline political leaders, had called for renewed suicide bombings inside Israel. Medical officials, confirming his death, said another nine people, including members of Rayyan's family, were killed in the bombing in Jabalya refugee camp.
Many Hamas leaders are in hiding, anticipating assassination attempts by Israel, whose military confirmed the air strike. Hamas Radio said Rayyan rejected Hamas advice to leave his house.
....

Rayyan, 49, an influential preacher at what is known in Jabalya as the "mosque of martyrs" mentored suicide bombers and with an ammunition belt strapped to his stocky frame, would sometimes patrol with Hamas fighters.

"The blood of Sheikh Nizar Rayyan and the blood of other martyrs will never be wasted and the enemy will pay a heavy price for the crimes it committed," said Hamas official Ayman Taha.

Hours before the killing, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Israel was fighting Hamas with an "iron fist," his words backed by a series of air strikes in the Gaza Strip but challenged by rockets that have killed four people in southern Israel.

Israeli forces remained poised on the Gaza frontier in preparation for a possible ground invasion as international calls for an immediate ceasefire mounted.

Shortly after Olmert spoke to mayors in southern Israel, footage of a multi-storey building damaged in an attack and a rubble-strewn street filled Israeli television screens.
