Pearl Harbor Day.

Indystar.com
Old soldiers pass into history, and with them the battles they fought.

Even with seminal events such as Pearl Harbor, as those who were there die, the stories fade.

By now, 95 percent of those who survived the surprise attack are gone, including, as of Monday, Robert Newkirk.

Newkirk, a Franklin resident, died the day he was to speak at an observance of the 69th anniversary of the attack.

Few men were as committed to keeping alive the memory of Pearl Harbor -- officially remembered today -- as Newkirk.

Major powers, Iran resume nuclear talks

Now that Iran is supposedly a nuclear autonomous country, what the hell do they think they are going to get Iran to do?

Maybe the same thing North Korea is doing, Those previous talks worked real well too, did they not?

(Reuters) - Six world powers began their first talks with Iran in more than a year on Monday, hoping the meeting will lead to new negotiations over a nuclear program the West believes is aimed at making atomic bombs.

On the eve of the meeting in Geneva, Iran announced what it called a major step forward in its nuclear work, signaling it is not about to back down in a long-running battle over what it insists are peaceful plans for energy production.

The six powers -- Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States -- played down expectations of a major breakthrough during the Dec 6-7 discussions. Diplomats said an agreement to meet again for more substantial talks, perhaps early next year, would be a sign of progress

Iran nuclear program self-sufficient

Self sufficient?
To bad their nuclear scientists are being killed.

(CNN) -- Iran now produces everything it needs for the nuclear fuel cycle, making its nuclear program self-sufficient, the head of the country's Atomic Energy Organization told state media Sunday.

The Islamic republic has begun producing yellowcake, Ali Akbar Salehi told Press TV.

Yellowcake, an intermediate stage in processing uranium, is a uranium oxide concentrate which is then heated to remove impurities, the International Atomic Energy Agency says.

Iran had been importing it, Salehi said, but is now mining it and processing it within the country.

Chinese leaders ordered Google hack

So even when further proof arrives, denial still reigns supreme.
China will Look into this, the U.S. will still be unsure and not want to say anything to upset the Communist country.

Feel like you've Been sold out yet.

Same old Bullshit Different day!

The Washington post.
A brazen series of computer intrusions into Google networks in China announced by the search engine company earlier this year were directed by the highest levels of the Chinese government, a "well-placed" Chinese source told U.S. Embassy officials in Beijing in January.

The revelation was contained in a classified State Department cable, part of a cache of cables leaked to the site WikiLeaks and disclosed Saturday.

"A well-placed contact claims that the Chinese government coordinated the recent intrusions of Google systems," the cable said. "According to our contact, the closely held operations were directed at the Politburo Standing Committee level." ...

The penetrations resulted in the theft of "significant" intellectual property, Google officials said. The company surprised many by publicly reporting the hacking, and further by saying its investigation found that the attacks originated in China. But the company stopped short of saying the attacks were directed by the government.

U.S. officials have not verified the report. "There is a single-source report that the attack was directed by the Chinese government," said a senior U.S. official, who was not authorized to speak on the record. "We have never been able to corroborate that."

Or Maybe, just to chickenshit to say something about it .

Al Qaeda planned to kill Saudis with poisoned gifts

Al Qaida sure is not afraid to branch out in the assassination area of their network.
A new level for them I think,

Al Qaeda militants now in detention planned to kill Saudi government and security officials and media workers by sending poisoned gifts to their offices

"Using poisoned perfume which they planned to send as gifts is one of the ways the arrested people planned to carry out their assassinations,"

We (the U.S.) might want to kick it up a notch ourselves.

(Reuters) - Al Qaeda militants now in detention planned to kill Saudi government and security officials and media workers by sending poisoned gifts to their offices, an Interior Ministry official told Reuters on Saturday.

The group "planned to rob banks and companies to finance their operations," the official, who declined to be named, said.

Last month Saudi Arabia said it captured 149 al Qaeda militants in recent months who were raising money and recruiting members to carry out attacks inside the kingdom, targeting government facilities, security officials and the media.

"Using poisoned perfume which they planned to send as gifts is one of the ways the arrested people planned to carry out their assassinations," the Interior Ministry official said.

The militants, who revealed the information to Saudi security forces, belonged to 19 al Qaeda cells and included 124 Saudis and 25 foreigners. The groups had links to militants in Somalia and Yemen, the Interior Ministry said last month.

Unmanned US Spacecraft Returns After 7-Month Trip

Uh, Autonomous landing? 7 Months in space!

Can it Carry Cargo?

If it can land itself while carrying say ...

Nevermind! Move along sheeple nothing to see here.

Foxnews
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – The U.S. Air Force's secrecy-shrouded X-37B unmanned spaceplane returned to Earth early Friday after more than seven months in orbit on a classified mission, officials said.

The winged craft autonomously landed at at Vandenberg Air Force Base on the California coast 130 miles northwest of Los Angeles, Vandenburg spokesman Jeremy Eggers said.

"It's very exciting," Eggers said of the 1:16 a.m. PST landing.

The X-37B was launched by an Atlas 5 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Fla., on April 22, 2010, with a maximum mission duration of 270 days.

Also known as the Orbital Test Vehicle, the Boeing-built spacecraft was originally a NASA project before being taken over by the military.

The Air Force has not said whether it carried anything in its cargo bay, but insists the primary purpose of the mission was to test the craft itself.

DREAM Act Would Cost Taxpayers $6.2 Billion Per Year, Group Says

Prepare to say goodbye to America!

This is one of those ignorant things that Politicians do to get some more credit with non Americans.
With all the crap going on in the United States, someone in power(Harry Reid)thinks it a better idea to help out Non Residents, Rather than put his effort into Helping out those People he supposedly works for.
Better to help another country I guess, than to help your own.

Foxnews
A group advocating for tighter immigration laws estimates that a hotly debated bill that would give tens of thousands of illegal immigrants who attend college or join the military a path to legal status would cost taxpayers $6.2 billion a year and "crowd out" U.S. students in the classroom.

A new report from the Center for Immigration Studies says the so-called DREAM Act, which would give more than 2 million young immigrants brought to the United States before the age of 16 a chance to become legal residents, could erode the educational opportunities available to U.S. citizens.

Wendy Sefsaf, a spokeswoman for the Immigration Policy Center, said CIS has "a very common formula," which factors the costs of anything without the benefits.

Her group cited an estimate by the liberal Center for American Progress that it would cost $48.6 billion to deport more than 2 million illegal immigrants who were raised in the U.S.

"The U.S. economy doesn't need more deportations; it needs more college graduates," she said, citing a Georgetown University report that shows Americans in 2018 will fall short of achieving 22 million new college degrees -- the number some say is needed to stay globally competitive -- by at least 3 million.

As a person who is out of work, and trying to pay His way through college right now, I am DEEPLY offended at the thought that it is better to Give my Tax dollars to an Illegal Immigrant, Before even looking at my Student loan Application.

F**king Bastards !

WikiLeaks Changes Domain Name After Attacks

Funny how ASSange the supposed hacker, has his wikileaks site pwned by hackers.

Maybe the next attack will be followed by ASSange's arrest.

Foxnews
STOCKHOLM -- Wikileaks was forced Friday to switch over to a Swiss domain name, wikileaks.ch, after a new round of hacker attacks on its system prompted its American domain name provider to withdraw service.

WikiLeaks' U.S. domain name system provider, EveryDNS, withdrew service to the wikileaks.org name late Thursday, saying it took the action because the new hacker attacks threatened the rest of its network.

U.S. Sees Greater N. Korea Nuclear Threat

Yes it is Obvious that North Korea has Big Nuclear ambitions.
Yes it is Obvious that as closed off as North Korea is no one may ever know what they are doing everywhere inside their country.

A new strategy ? Sure that is what is needed, but as the nitwits of the world plan on having some more face time with each other about that, The Norks are still building their secret facilities.

Take your time guys, when you finally get done talking about it, we will be facing a fully Nuclear capable North Korea.

Foxnews
VIENNA—The Obama administration
told the United Nations nuclear watchdog that North Korea likely has built more than one uranium-enrichment facility, significantly raising the proliferation threat posed by the secretive communist state.

U.S. and European officials are pressing the International Atomic Energy Agency to better scrutinize Pyongyang's potential role in sharing its nuclear technologies with third countries. But the U.N. agency's ability to monitor Pyongyang is limited: North Korea kicked out the IAEA's inspectors in 2009.

These additional facilities would allow North Korea to significantly increase its numbers of atomic weapons, as well as their yield.

"It is likely that North Korea had been pursuing an enrichment capability long before the April 2009 date it now claims,".

"If so, there is a clear likelihood that DPRK has built other uranium enrichment-related facilities in its territory."

Finger-Flipping Crosswalk Sign Fixed

Hilarious.(NSFW)

Foxnews
There's "Walk," "Don't Walk" and "Say WHAT!?!?"

A “Don’t Walk” signal at a crosswalk in Spokane, Wash., sent a most impolite message to pedestrians on Wednesday, "flipping the bird" at people waiting on the corner until the city got around to fixing it.

The electronic sign's raised hand, the universal signal to stop, was working fine. But it was missing some fingers -- two on the left and one on the right -- leaving the middle digit proudly standing alone.

Arsenic-based life form discovered on Earth

Not the type of Alien Lifeforms we want to see but definitely Alien.

the Washington Post
NASA held a press conference Thursday afternoon in which they revealed the discovery of arsenic-based life forms on Earth. As Marc Kaufman explained:

All life on Earth - from microbes to elephants and us - is based on a single genetic model that requires the element phosphorus as one of its six essential components.

But now researchers have uncovered a bacterium that has five of those essential elements but has, in effect, replaced phosphorus with its look-alike but toxic cousin arsenic.

News of the discovery caused a scientific commotion, including calls to NASA from the White House and Congress asking whether a second line of earthly life has been found.

Foxnews
Amazon.com has severed ties with controversial website WikiLeaks, the organization that just released a trove of sensitive U.S. State Department documents.

Computers run by Amazon's Elastic Web Compute service in Tulsa, Portland, New York and elsewhere had been hosting the site cablegate.WikiLeaks.org, the Wall Street Journal noted on Tuesday, as well as WikiLeaks.org, the controversial site’s front page.

On Wednesday, the main website and the "cablegate" sub-site devoted to the diplomatic documents were unavailable from the U.S. and Europe. Joe Lieberman, chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said that Amazon told him of the decision to end the relationship between the two companies.

TSA: All fliers are now checked

So now will we not only be fondled and groped by the TSA, we will now be considered Terrorists.
Way to go TSA,

The Washington Post
Every passenger who flies in American skies is now being checked against a list of people who pose a terrorism risk, Transportation Security Administration head John S. Pistole said Tuesday.

The announcement that 197 air carriers, including 127 that fly internationally, are participating in the screening program brings the TSA into compliance with a key recommendation of the federal commission that investigated the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Pistole said that the TSA is working to refine controversial new pat-down procedures implemented in November. He said his agency wanted to determine whether "less intrusive" methods could be used with confidence that would-be terrorists could be caught.

"Don't hunt down my son," says mother of WikiLeaks founder

Then tell your son not to be such a Douchebag.

(Reuters) - The mother of Australian WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said on Wednesday she was distressed by an international police alert for her son's arrest and did not want him "hunted down and jailed."

Global police agency Interpol issued a "red notice" on Tuesday to assist in the arrest of Assange, founder of the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks, who is wanted in Sweden on suspicion of sexual crimes.

Assange, 39, a former computer hacker now at the center of a global controversy after WikiLeaks released a trove of classified U.S. diplomatic cables at the weekend, denies the Swedish allegations.

Christine Assange, who runs a puppet theater in Australia's Queensland state, said she was worried about her son's wellbeing as Australia's government joined the United States in launching an investigation into whether Assange and WikiLeaks had broken security or criminal laws.

"He's my son and I love him and obviously I don't want him hunted down and jailed. I'm reacting as any mother would. I'm distressed,"

Your son has Distressed most of the world in the past year, it is only fitting that he be Hunted down and treated like the Scumbag he is !

China arrests hundreds of hackers, says situation "grim"

Really, America should what?

"appropriately resolve related issues"

Hmmm, I'm sure that the U.S. has committed some Cyber attacks of our own(If not Obama is a bigger pussy than I thought), But never have we reached the scale of what goes on in China.

(Reuters) - China has arrested more than 460 hackers from start of this year to the end of November, but the prospects to prevent future assaults on computer security remain grim, the ministry of public security said.

The announcement, made late on Monday, came a day after a series of leaked U.S. State Department cables, including one in which an unnamed Chinese contact alleged that China's Politburo directed an intrusion into Google's computer systems, part of a broader coordinated campaign of computer sabotage carried out by Chinese government operatives, private security experts and Internet outlaws.

"The current situation of our crackdown on hacker attacks is still very grim and the number of hacker attacks and sabotage activities in China are still high," an unnamed official said in the statement.

The ministry said it had solved 180 cyber attack cases as of the end of November.

A China foreign ministry official, who declined on Tuesday to comment on the Wikileaks' disclosure of the allegations, called on the United States to "appropriately resolve related issues" concerning the reports. The official did not elaborate.
