75%, that is the majority, that is the end of Egypt as a tourist destination (for those of us who have some common sense)
Obama Should be very pleased over this!
ABC news
Final results on Saturday showed that Islamist parties won nearly three-quarters of the seats in parliament in Egypt's first elections since the ouster of authoritarian president Hosni Mubarak, according to election officials and political groups.
The Islamist domination of Egypt's parliament has worried liberals and even some conservatives about the religious tone of the new legislature, which will be tasked with forming a committee to write a new constitution. It remains unclear whether the constitution will be written while the generals who took power after Mubarak's fall are still in charge, or rather after presidential elections this summer.
In the vote for the lower house of parliament, a coalition led by the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood won 47 percent, or 235 seats in the 498-seat parliament. The ultraconservative Al-Nour Party was second with 25 percent, or 125 seats.

Liberal Youth Behind Revolution 'Decimated' in Free Egyptian Elections
Duh! did anyone really think that the hardline extremists in Egypt would let the young people that started the whole protest and uprising, have a say in any of Egypts future?
If you haven't traveled to Egypt to see the Pyramids or whatever, you may never do it now.
Foxnews
Egypt's top reformist leader has said the liberal youth behind the country's uprising have been "decimated" in parliamentary elections dominated by Islamists and expressed concern about the rise of hard-line religious elements advocating extremist ideas such as banning women from driving.
Mohamed ElBaradei, a Nobel Prize laureate and possible presidential candidate, said Sunday he hopes moderate Islamists will rein in the extremists and send a reassuring message to the world that Egypt will not go down an ultraconservative religious path.
"The youth feel let down. They don't feel that any of the revolution's goals have been achieved," ElBaradei told The Associated Press in an interview on the same day electoral authorities announced that Islamist parties captured an overwhelming majority of votes in the first round of elections last week. "They got decimated," he said, adding the youth failed to unify and form "one essential critical mass."

Thousand flee after riots
"I must emphasise that what is happening is not ethnic, religious or regional."
Houses of Goodluck Jonathon supporters Being burnt to the ground and churches being torched all while Muhammadu Buhari supporters run around terrorizing everyone.
No, it has nothing to do with the Ethnic problems Nigeria has been experiencing lately,
Just wait till it sinks in a little more, When the Muslims realize that they have a christian President.
BBC
Thousands of people have fled their homes in northern Nigeria after riots prompted by the election of incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan.
In some towns residents slept in police stations for safety. The Red Cross says there have been significant numbers of casualties.
Mr Jonathan appealed for an end to the violence and imposed a 24-hour curfew.
His main rival Gen Muhammadu Buhari, a northerner, told the BBC the violence was sad, unwarranted and criminal.
Some of the rioters have been alleging ballot-rigging, but the former military leader said he wanted to disassociated himself and his party from the clashes.

Arizona Legislature OKs Presidential 'Birther' Bill
Too Funny,
But honestly can you disagree with this?
I'm sure there will be some sort of backlash somewhere, some anti American liberal assclown will spin some sort of racist remarks all around this!
Foxnews
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Legislature gave final approval late Thursday night to a proposal that would require President Obama and other presidential candidates to prove they are U.S. citizens before their names can appear on the state's ballot.
Arizona would become the first state to require such proof if Gov. Jan Brewer signs the measure into law.
Republican Rep. Carl Seel of Phoenix, the author of the bill, said the bill wasn't about opposition to Obama. "This bill is about the integrity of our elections," Seel said.

800 die in Ivory Coast ethnic violence'
And the one Place on the Earth nobody is paying attention to, is way out of control.
The Ivory Coast has been in turmoil for months now, every since their elections back in December or so of last year.
Who needs Cocoa any way.
BBC
At least 800 people are reported to have been killed in the Ivory Coast city of Duekoue this week, as rival forces continue to battle for power.
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) staff visited Duekoue and said the scale and brutality of the killings were shocking.
The city was captured by fighters supporting UN-recognised president Alassane Ouattara this week.
His forces have ringed Laurent Gbagbo's troops in the main city, Abidjan.
Mr Ouattara was internationally recognised as president after winning a run-off vote in November, but Mr Gbagbo also claimed victory and refused to leave office.

After months, Iraq's leaders are sworn in
Unity Government!
A new Oxy-moron.
The Washington Post
BAGHDAD - Iraq's new national unity government was sworn into office Tuesday, ending nine months of paralyzing political deadlock that at times had threatened to unravel Iraq's fragile new democracy.
A special gathering of the nation's parliament endorsed Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki for a second term in office, with lawmakers then voting one by one for 31 of the eventual 42 ministers who will be in his cabinet...
"We should close the page of the past, and we should all work together," he said in an address to the parliamentary session. "We wish all success to this government."

Chavez May Strengthen Grip on Venezuela
Seriously , What else can he take Away ?
Sept. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, after suffering his worst setback at the ballot box since taking office in 1999, may seek to strengthen his grip on the economy and undermine opponents ahead of the 2012 presidential election.
Chavez’s United Socialist Party of Venezuela, while securing 98 of 165 seats in National Assembly elections Sept. 26 after the redrawing of electoral districts, lost the two-thirds majority needed to pass key legislation by itself. The opposition took 65 seats and says it won 52 percent of the popular vote. Authorities didn’t release the overall vote count.
Chavez has experienced defeat just once before in 12 elections and could look to increase state control of the economy, boost spending on social programs and crack down on opponents to regain political momentum, analysts at Barclays Plc and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. said.
“It’s not in Chavez’s nature to take this threat lying down,” said Ray Walser, a Latin America analyst at the Heritage Foundation in Washington. “He will likely take a retaliatory step.”

Evidence Mounts That Afghan Elections Marred by Fraud
It is a nice thought , thinking that Afghanistan could handle a vote without Rampant fraud , But come on did you really expect it ?
And why the hell is America Partly to blame ?
an outcome that calls into question the U.S. and Afghan effort to build a legitimate government, The New York Times reported Saturday.
Calls into question ? No Shit ! Not by any of the U.S. Doing . Afghanistan is just not ready to throw off their Training wheels just yet , Maybe in 2 or 3 Hundred years from Now !
Foxnews
Results from last weekend’s parliamentary election in Afghanistan increasingly appear to be marred by fraud
, with a third of the provinces affected -- an outcome that calls into question the U.S. and Afghan effort to build a legitimate government, The New York Times reported Saturday.
The Election Complaints Commission said Thursday it received more than 3,000 complaints since last weekend’s election. Such complaints to provincial election commissions have included video clips showing ballot stuffing, heavily-armed election officials and strong-arming of and even the handcuffing and detention of election workers, the newspaper reported.
In some regions, election officials are suspected of carrying out the fraud, while in others the government employees did, witnesses reported to the newspaper. One video demonstrated election officials and a candidate's representatives bartering over the price of votes.
The increasing evidence of fraud and corruption of some candidates raised alarm about the effort to build a stable government that can draw the support of Afghans, the Obama administration and its NATO partners, the newspaper said.

Many Afghans denied right to vote
Does this surprise you at all ?
what more do you expect from a fourth world country that is controlled by Corrupt politicians and Terrorists .
Let alone the fact of a high level of un-education , do to their religion .
CNN
Discrepancies between the number of voters in the parliamentary election and last year's presidential election had already raised questions about Saturday's results.
Saturday night, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced it recorded a 40 percent turnout, with 3.6 million votes cast out of a total of 9.2 million eligible voters.
But in the widely criticized presidential elections of August 2009, the IEC reported 11.4 million eligible voters.
And the commission's website reports a total of 16.7 million voters have been registered in Afghanistan since 2003.

Taliban kidnap Afghan vote candidate
Those peace loving Taliban guys sure know how to treat people .
You Vote you " Will Get Hurt "
hindustantimes
The Taliban kidnapped an Afghan parliamentary candidate on Friday and another 18 election workers as security forces went on high alert to stop insurgents derailing the nationwide vote at the weekend. The hardline Islamist militia, which has been fighting an insurgency for nine years since being
overthrown from power in the 2001 US-led invasion, has already threatened attacks to disrupt Saturday's poll and called for a boycott.
It claimed responsiblity for snatching Abdul Rahman Hayat, a candidate from eastern Lagman province, on Friday and an electoral official also blamed the other abductions on the Taliban, which has previously killed three candidates.
"We have kidnapped Hayatullah Hayat," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a text message to an AFP reporter.
The insurgents were also blamed for the kidnapping late Thursday of 18 electoral officials and campaign workers in northwestern Baghdis province.
The Taliban have threatened to attack polling centres, election workers and security forces, and a spokesman for the insurgents warned that voters who dare to try to cast ballots "will get hurt".

Taliban urge Afghan vote boycott, warn of violence
In other words , Look out Afghanistan , the Taliban is gonna splode your ass's up if you dare go and vote.
(Reuters) - The Taliban renewed a warning on Thursday they would try to disrupt Afghanistan's parliamentary poll and urged a boycott, while poll monitors said the electoral watchdog had not acted forcefully enough against fraud.
Fears of violence and fraud are hanging over Saturday's vote, in which almost 2,500 candidates are vying for 249 seats in the wolesi jirga or lower house of parliament. Afghanistan's own election watchdog has warned of a "disputatious" process.
The poll is a test of stability ahead of President Barack Obama's strategy review in December, which will likely examine the pace and scale of U.S. troop withdrawals...
The hardline Islamist Taliban repeated a warning that they would unleash violence during the poll, in which there are 11.4 million eligible voters.
"We call on our Muslim nation to boycott this process and thus foil all foreign processes and drive away the invaders from your country by sticking to jihad and Islamic resistance," the group said in a statement.

NATO: 5 Insurgents, Taliban Commander Killed in Afghanistan
Dead Taliban Good Taliban .
Foxnews
KABUL, Afghanistan — A Taliban commander who planned rocket attacks on polling stations during elections next week and four other insurgents were killed in eastern Afghanistan, NATO said Sunday.
NATO said the military alliance and Afghan forces killed the five insurgents Saturday night in a village compound in the eastern Nangarhar province. The insurgents were killed after they "displayed hostile intent" as the forces moved in on the compound, it said in a statement.
It said intelligence reports indicated the Taliban commander was planning to conduct rocket attacks on voting centers during the Sept. 18 parliamentary elections. The Taliban has vowed to target polling stations and warned Afghans not to participate in what it called a sham vote.

Local elections in Mexico marred by violence, intimidation
But the vote went on , I just am Curious though , How many of the 15 to 20 Million Illegal Undocumented Aliens within the United States actually went to vote ?
Probably none of them , yet these are the same people that are screaming for a voice in The United States !
I know it is a Stupid Question , But It is a point non the less !
The LA Times
Far beyond the results themselves, Sunday's elections in nearly half the nation were a test of whether drug cartels have been able to so frighten voters that the very democratic process is threatened. Four of the states picking governors Sunday — Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Durango and Tamaulipas — are among the country's deadliest.
A number of polling stations did not open and scores of election workers, mainly in Tamaulipas, were afraid to show up. Some candidates cast ballots in body armor with guards in tow, and army patrols with heavy firepower were deployed in several states to protect voters.
In the violent border state of Chihuahua, four bodies were found hung Sunday morning from different bridges, an ominous, but increasingly common, message from drug traffickers. One was identified as a prison warden.
"We are very concerned about the violence and especially whether it stops people from going out to vote," Sen. Manlio Fabio Beltrones, a power broker within the PRI, told The Times.

Iraq bombings kill 42 before vote results
More Muslims Killing Muslims again in Iraq , all over the Power to be in Charge !
That is the one thing they will never understand in the Muslim world , sometimes you need a blend of differences to run things properly , not just a single ruling party or Cleric or Even an Imam !
And killing each other over it gets you nowhere , But then again if they really insist , More power to em !
(Reuters) - Two bombs killed 42 people and wounded 65 others in Iraq's mainly Sunni Diyala province on Friday, underscoring tensions just before the release of full preliminary results from the March 7 parliamentary election.
A car bomb and a roadside bomb exploded in the town of Khalis, about 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
Iraq's Independent High Electoral Council (IHEC) was to release results of a count of all the votes later on Friday, 19 days after an election Iraqis hoped would stabilize their nation after years of sectarian warfare.
The tensions foreshadowed potentially divisive talks to form the next government. Sectarian violence exploded when politicians took more than five months to agree a government after the last parliamentary vote in 2005 and tens of thousands of people were killed.
An election official said the top two blocs, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's State of Law and the cross-sectarian Iraqiya coalition led by secularist former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi were expected to be one or two seats apart.
Earlier in the day, hundreds of Maliki's supporters gathered at Baghdad's provincial government building to echo the prime minister's demand for a recount, waving banners that read: "No, no to fraud" and "Where have our voices gone?"
All of the major parties have alleged irregularities in the election. But Maliki and his supporters have been most outspoken as the last published results put Allawi's bloc ahead in the national count by about 11,000 votes.
"We condemn the work of IHEC and cases of fraud that have occurred for the benefit of the Iraqiya list," said protester Arkan Shahab, 47.
"The process of fraud that has openly occurred and the abolition of the will of the Iraqi people will have severe consequences for the perpetrators."

Taliban Reportedly Cut Off Fingers of 2 Voters
The Taliban were not able to pull off a major Disruption during the Elections ! so they have to act like the big pussies they are and lop some fingers off of people who voted ( And have a different view than theirs ).
The Taliban are on their way out !
VOA....
An Afghan election monitoring group says Taliban insurgents have made good on their threat to chop off ink-stained fingers of voters. Meanwhile, international observers are rendering a tentative verdict on the electoral process, calling Thursday's balloting generally positive and democratic.
Two voters in Afghanistan's Kandahar province, where there is a significant Taliban presence, had their ink-stained fingers chopped off by insurgents. The head of the country's Free and Fair Election Foundation, Nader Nadery, tells VOA his group's observers reported that the two men were attacked by the Taliban on Election Day.
The report came as key international monitors are rendering a tentative assessment of the election process.

Karzai calls on Afghans to defy Taliban and vote
In a series of statements on Wednesday the Taliban said they had infiltrated 20 suicide bombers into Kabul and would close all the country's roads, taking no responsibility for the deaths of anyone who defied them to go to the polls.
It is Statements like this that should encourage the Afghan People to make it to the Polls !
And also should encourage everyone in Afghanistan to help exterminate the Taliban from existence !
....
KABUL (Reuters) - President Hamid Karzai called on Afghans to defy Taliban threats and vote, hours before polls opened in an election on Thursday that could prove the toughest test yet of his own mandate and his nation's fragile democracy.
Nearly as much as it is a test for Karzai, the election is also a high political hurdle for U.S. President Barack Obama, who has ordered a massive troop build-up this year as part of a strategy to reverse Taliban gains.
Afghan streets were tense with police on round-the-clock shifts. Karzai insisted the Taliban, stronger than at any time since they were toppled in 2001, would fail in their pledge to disrupt the country's second-ever presidential vote.
"Enemies will do their best, but it won't help," he told reporters late on Wednesday.
"I hope that tomorrow our countrymen, millions of them, will come and vote for the country's stability, for the country's peace, for the country's progress."

Rockets hit capital two days before Afghan vote
Two days to go ,and the Taliban have not done as much as expected to Hinder the Elections !
It would be awesome if they really did not do that much , and the elections went on without a hitch , But the Taliban will look like a bunch of bigger Bitches , if they do nothing !
....
KABUL (Reuters) - A Taliban rocket struck the grounds of Afghanistan's presidential palace on Tuesday, just two days before incumbent Hamid Karzai seeks re-election in tense polls that could go to a second round.
Not only is Karzai fighting for a fresh mandate, but the election is also a test of U.S. President Barack Obama's strategy of escalating the 8-year-old conflict in an effort to reverse recent Taliban gains.
In a speech on Monday aimed at bolstering public support, Obama called the Afghan conflict "a war worth fighting."
Election campaigning officially ended at midnight after a final day that saw hectic rallies in support of Karzai and his main rival, former foreign minister Abdullah Abdullah.
Polls show Karzai likely to win Thursday's vote, but not with the outright majority required to avoid a second round. He is relying on the last-minute support of former guerrilla chieftains in a bid to tip the balance.

Taliban claim blast at NATO compound in Kabul
And this is only the beginning , there will be more of this over the next five days !
....
KABUL (Reuters) - The Taliban claimed responsibility for a large suicide car bomb that detonated on Saturday in the heart of the Afghan capital's most secure neighborhood just five days before an election the Islamist group has vowed to disrupt.
Afghanistan's Defense Ministry said at least four people were killed and 91 wounded in the blast, which hit outside the sprawling headquarters of the NATO-led international force, near the U.S. embassy, in Kabul.
A spokesman for the International Security Assistance Force said there were some ISAF casualties. An official with the Afghan Ministry of Transport, whose headquarters bore the brunt of the blast, said dozens of employees were hurt by flying glass.
"Unfortunately, there are casualties," said Canadian Brigadier General Eric Tremblay, an ISAF spokesman. "I am not going to go into numbers. There's Afghan civilians and there are ISAF military."
