Nato is sending hundreds of extra troops to Kosovo amid rising tension in the north along its border with Serbia.
The military alliance said the situation had not deteriorated but that reinforcements were needed to relieve troops currently patrolling the north.
Soldiers from Nato's Kosovo Force were deployed after clashes broke out between Kosovo police and ethnic Serbs.
The trouble began when the Kosovan government sent ethnic Albanian police to enforce a ban on Serbian imports.
A border post was torched and demolished and a Kosovo policeman killed after Serbian nationalists reacted angrily to their presence.

Islam is an Intolerant religion, Muslims can not even tolerate each other.
As for them killing each other off for their differences, I encourage it.

(CNN) -- The death toll from ethnic clashes in the Pakistani city of Karachi this week has reached 88, local police said Saturday.

Naeem Shah, a Karachi police official, reported three deaths on Saturday, adding to the previous death toll of 85 since Tuesday.
The clashes have been blamed on a bitter rivalry between two political parties -- the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Awami National Party.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement mostly represents Urdu-speaking people who migrated to Pakistan from India during partition in 1947, while the Awami National Party represents Pashto speakers, more of whom are moving to Karachi from northwest Pakistan in search of jobs.

800 die in Ivory Coast ethnic violence'

The Ivory Coast has been in turmoil for months now, every since their elections back in December or so of last year.

At least 800 people are reported to have been killed in the Ivory Coast city of Duekoue this week, as rival forces continue to battle for power.
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) staff visited Duekoue and said the scale and brutality of the killings were shocking.
The city was captured by fighters supporting UN-recognised president Alassane Ouattara this week.
His forces have ringed Laurent Gbagbo's troops in the main city, Abidjan.
Mr Ouattara was internationally recognised as president after winning a run-off vote in November, but Mr Gbagbo also claimed victory and refused to leave office.

Kyrgyzstan leader visits Osh after violence

Kyrgyzstan interim leader Roza Otunbayeva has flown to Osh in the south of the country after the worst ethnic violence in two decades.
At least 191 people were killed in fighting between Kyrgyz and ethnic Uzbeks around Osh and Jalalabad.
About 400,000 people have been displaced by the unrest, with many Uzbeks fleeing into Uzbekistan.
The Red Cross (ICRC) has described the situation as an "immense crisis".
A government spokesperson said that Ms Otunbayeva would meet local leaders and visit hospitals during the trip.
"The aim of the visit is to acquaint herself with the situation and take necessary measures," the spokesperson told Reuters.
The unrest comes two months after the country's former president, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, was forced out of office in April.
Ms Otunbayeva's government has blamed the former leader for stoking the conflict.

This time it's the marauding Muslim Somalis vs. the African Americans. Last week it was 20 marauding Muslim Somalis on 1 white guy.

Police say no weapons were used and no one was seriously injured. School District Officials wouldn't talk to us on camera, but did issue a statement. They say they are continuing to gather information about the fight, and that “student safety is their utmost concern.”
We also talked to the Somali Community Service Organization, which says violence is a problem that needs to be addressed before it gets worse. "Everyone needs peaceful. We don't need more problems. No, we don't need to be worried our kid is going to school because they're going to get in a fight because they always know school is safe for our kids," said Andrea Bec.
Bec says the one way to make the community safe is to quote, "hold a meeting to get to the root of the problem. These are serious issues that need to be discussed in all the schools with the teachers and principals and all those and their parents so the community will do something together," said Bec.
The Diversity Council runs a program called Spark in the Rochester Public Schools. Its goal is to reduce prejudice and discrimination and foster tolerance among students. We tried calling the diversity council today, but our calls were not returned.
This latest fight comes less than a week after a racially inspired altercation broke out at Owatonna High School. Students say it was between 20 Somali students and one white student.

BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese police in the far western region of Xinjiang have detained 15 people for stabbing attacks using syringes that have increased tension between ethnic groups in the region, media and visitors to the area said on Thursday.
State media did not say how many people had been stabbed. A doctor in the regional capital, Urumqi, said the number may be as high as 1,000, but he could not confirm that.
Nobody had been infected with anything or poisoned by the stabbings in Urumqi, the China Daily said on its website, citing the Xinhua news agency.
"According to eyewitness reports, on September 2 several hundred Urumqi citizens took to the streets to rebuke the despicable conduct of the violent perpetrators and call on the government to severely punish offenders," the pro-Beijing Hong Kong newspaper Wen Wei Po said in a report.
In Xinjiang's worst ethnic violence in decades, Uighurs, Turkic-speaking Muslim people native to the region, attacked majority Han Chinese in Urumqi on July 5, after taking to the streets to protest against attacks on Uighur workers at a factory in south China in June in which two Uighurs were killed.
Han Chinese in Urumqi sought revenge two days later.
It is unclear if there is an ethnic dimension to the syringe attacks.
