I don't know how much credibility there is to this report that those accused are backed by the US. But one thing is for sure, the mullahacracy must be overthrown. ReutersTEHRAN (Reuters) - A Tehran court has jailed a number of people accused of involvement in a U.S.-sponsored plot to overthrow Iran's Islamic system of government, a semi-official news agency said on Saturday.
The Mehr News Agency said the accused had confessed, but did not say how many they were or give any details on the sentences.
The judiciary last Tuesday said Iran had arrested four Iranians in connection with a suspected U.S.-financed plot to topple the Islamic system, in an announcement made a week before the inauguration of Barack Obama as U.S. president.

Over 30 Iraq Interior Ministry officials detained
It looks like the Iraqis can take care of themselves now. ReutersBAGHDAD (Reuters) - A number of officers from Iraq's Interior Ministry have been arrested on charges of trying to rebuild former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's Baath party, a ministry spokesman said on Thursday.
The New York Times reported on Thursday that an elite counterterrorism force, reporting directly to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, arrested up to 35 officials, some of whom were accused of plotting a coup against the government.
Major-General Abdul Karim Khalaf said the officers were arrested under suspicion of being part of the Awda ("Return") party, which is seen as a new incarnation of the once omnipotent Baath party.
"They are now being interrogated under the supervision of the Iraqi judiciary," Khalaf told Reuters.
Khalaf said far fewer than 35 people had been arrested but that those who were detained ranked between lieutenant and brigadier general. He said no special forces were involved.

86 Charged for Coup Plot in Turkey
Good to see that people in Turkey do not want to see Shariah law introduced.BBC
....
A top Turkish prosecutor has brought charges against 86 people allegedly involved in a coup plot.
Aykut Cengiz Engin said those charged included leading figures from the army, business and the secular press.
The charges follow speculation about a shadowy group of hardline nationalists determined to act in what they see as defence of Turkey's secular values. The Constitutional Court is considering a case against the AK Party, in which it is accused of aiming to introduce Sharia law in Turkey, in contravention of the strictly secular constitution.
The Turkish prime minister and president - both AKP members - are named in that case and could be barred from office. They and the party reject the charges, which they say are part of a campaign against the party.
'Provocation'
On Monday prosecutor Mr Engin filed charges at an Istanbul court against 86 people, 48 of whom are already in custody.
"The indictment covers crimes such as forming an armed terror group... and attempting to overthrow the government by force," Mr Engin said.
