Ha Ha, Muslims get the shaft on this one; China don't care either.
Muslim News
Hundreds of Muslims have fought with armed police who demolished a newly-built mosque in north-west China Friday, according to reports.
The Information Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, based in Hong Kong, said two people were killed and more than 50 injured in the disturbances in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
The violence between local Muslims and roughly 1,000 armed officers began after police declared a newly built mosque to be illegal, and moved in to demolish it.
The rights group said police fired tear gas and used knives and batons to beat back ethnic Hui Muslim protesters in Taoshan village, Hexi township.

Ahmadinejad Vows Not to Retreat on Nuclear Drive
"This nation won't retreat one iota from the path it is going," Ahmadinejad told thousands of people in Shahr-e-Kord in central Iran. "Why are you ruining the prestige of the (U.N. nuclear) agency for absurd U.S. claims?"
So the monkey man speaks and he said that Iran WILL not divert from its nuclear program.
And the usual co conspirators are at their defense, Russia and China both are screaming for the world to just leave Iran alone and not ramp up any sanctions.
Most likely because of their vested interest in Iran Developing a strong Nuclear program and developing a Nuclear Bomb (Your allies are much more feared by others when they to are Nuclear Armed)
So the big question, will Israel strike ? Will they make Irans Nuclear facilities look like Syrias? (a pile of ruble).
Foxnews
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Wednesday that Iran won't retreat "one iota" from its nuclear program, denying claims that it seeks atomic weapons. Key ally Russia gave the Islamic Republic a major boost, rejecting tighter sanctions despite a U.N. watchdog report detailing suspected arms-related advances.
Israel called on the world to stop Iran's nuclear program in response to the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency's report. The Israeli statement did not refer to the option of a military attack, Israel considers Iran its most dangerous enemy...
"Any additional sanctions against Iran would be perceived by the international community as an instrument for regime change in Tehran," deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told the Interfax news agency, adding that Russia "does not intend to consider such proposals."...
China has not publicly commented yet on a U.N. assessment of Iran's nuclear programs in a likely sign that it will wait for Washington and Moscow to signal their intentions. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said Wednesday that Beijing was studying the report and repeated calls for dialogue and cooperation...

Tibetan sets herself on fire in protest
When the going gets tough and you have finally had enough.
Light yourself on FIRE.
The Associated Press
Free Tibet said the nun, 20-year-old Tenzin Wangmo, died after setting herself on fire Monday outside Dechen Chokorling nunnery in Sichuan province's Aba prefecture where a number of other self-immolations have taken place this year. The group said she chanted slogans as she set herself alight calling for greater religious freedom and the return of Tibet's exiled Buddhist leader, the Dalai Lama.
Although there is no tradition of self-immolation as a form of protest in Tibetan society, a total of nine monks and former monks and one nun have set themselves on fire since March in what are seen as desperate acts to draw attention to repression of Tibetan Buddhism.
Most ignited the flames while calling for Tibetan freedom and the return of the Dalai Lama, who fled to India amid an abortive uprising against Chinese rule in 1959. Aged in their late teens and twenties, at least five died of their injuries, while the condition of the other four is not known.
"The acts of self-immolation are not taking place in isolation, protests have been reported in the surrounding region and calls for wider protests are growing," Free Tibet Director Stephanie Brigden was quoted as saying in a statement.

China launches research module to orbit Earth
So what happens when we shelf every bit of our manned space missions and give up even trying to do anything further to assist the space station and retain our dominance in space?
CHINA happens.
China will now take the lead in the space department by launching its first start to their own space station, hopefully it will be as high quality as their crappy products they churn out for the world market.
Thanks Obama, You jackass.
SFGate
China launched an experimental module to lay the groundwork for a future space station on Thursday, underscoring its ambitions to become a major space power over the coming decade.
The box car-size Tiangong-1 module was shot into space from the Jiuquan launch center on the edge of the Gobi Desert aboard a Long March 2FT1 rocket.
It is to move into an orbit 217 miles above Earth and conduct surveys of Chinese farmland using special cameras, along with experiments involving growing crystals in zero gravity.
China then plans to launch an unmanned Shenzhou 8 spacecraft to practice remote-controlled docking maneuvers with the module, possibly within the next few weeks. Two more missions, at least one of them manned, are to meet up with it next year for further practice, with astronauts staying for up to one month.
The 8.5-ton module, whose name translates as "Heavenly Palace-1," is to stay aloft for two years, after which two other experimental modules are to be launched for additional tests before the actual station is launched in three sections between 2020 and 2022.

Pentagon Pentagon Warns China's Military Is Growing Rapidly
The largest standing Military getting bigger every year, and the U.S. Government doesn't ever think too much of it , until now.
What will the Obamasiah have to say?
Foxnews
Bolstered by the development of a new stealth fighter, an aircraft carrier and a record number of space launches over the past year, China is on pace to achieve its goal of building a modern, regionally focused military by 2020, according to the Pentagon.
In a report released Wednesday, the Pentagon said Beijing has closed critical technological gaps and is rapidly modernizing its military equipment, all with an eye toward preventing possible U.S. and allied intervention in a conflict with Taiwan. It also warns that the military expansion could increasingly stretch to the western Pacific in a move to deny U.S. and allies' access or movement there.
"The pace and scope of China's sustained military investments have allowed China to pursue capabilities that we believe are potentially destabilizing to regional military balances, increase the risk of misunderstanding and miscalculation and may contribute to regional tensions and anxieties," said Michael Schiffer, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for East Asia.

McAfee uncovers massive global cyber snoop
McAfee vice-president of Threat Research Dmitri Alperovitch said the attacker was looking for information in military, diplomatic and economic domains.
China, why we do not retaliate is beyond comprehension.

China masterminded 'Operation Shady RAT' targeting over 70 organisations, governments, say analysts
Computer security company McAfee has said that it has discovered a massive global cyber spying operation targeting several US government departments, the UN and other governments across the world for five years or more.
Analysts say it is likely that China is behind the cyber espionage dubbed 'Operation Shady RAT' by McAfee. RAT stands for "remote access tool".
The Guardian reported that security experts at McAfee had discovered a "command and control" server in 2009 that was used to control the operation. On revisiting the server this March, experts found logs which revealed all of the attacks.
Victims of snooping campaign include: governments of Canada, India, South Korea, Taiwan, the US and Vietnam; international bodies such as the UN, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the International Olympic Committee, the World Anti-Doping Agency; 12 US defense contractors, one UK defense contractor; and companies in construction, energy, steel, solar power, technology, satellite communications, accounting and media, said an AFP report.
McAfee said there is evidence that security breaches date back to mid-2006.

Four others were caught, while police are hunting for the rest four following an eruption of violence at 4:30 p.m., in which more than 10 pedestrians and police officers had been found injured.
Local sources have earlier said three people died from a blast at the scene, but witnesses said the victims were hacked to death by the rioters.
The incident happened after at least seven people were killed by rioters on Saturday night in the same city.
Two suspects hijacked a truck at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, stabbing the driver to death and ramming into pedestrians. The pair later jumped out of the truck and hacked bystanders.

China aircraft carrier confirmed by general
The Chinese have an old Russian aircraft carrier the are remodeling.
Big deal, what is anyone going to do about it.
If they are this far along in their quest to build the biggest military in the world and they are just now getting their first aircraft carrier and one that they did not build in the first place, there is not much to worry about.
I'd say they are still a little behind the U.S Navy, we currently have 11, we built them all by ourselves.
BBC
The head of China's General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has confirmed that China's first aircraft carrier is under construction.
Gen Chen Bingde refused to say when the carrier - a remodelled Soviet-era vessel, the Varyag - would be ready.
A member of his staff said the carrier would pose no threat to other nations.
The 300m (990ft) carrier, which is being built in the north-east port of Dalian, has been one of China's worst-kept secrets, analysts say.
Gen Chen made his comments to the Chinese-language Hong Kong Commercial Daily newspaper.

Gmail Accounts Compromised by Chinese Hackers, Google Says
Ah yes the Almighty Google has been hacked, Again.
Yes Google figured it out to, Through the strength of their Cloud-based Security!
To bad it took them a year!
Foxnews
Chinese hackers have infiltrated Google's Gmail system and broken into hundreds of accounts, including those of senior government officials, military personnel and political activists, the company said.
Google says all victims have been notified and their accounts have been secured.
"Through the strength of our cloud-based security and abuse detection systems, we recently uncovered a campaign to collect user passwords, likely through phishing," wrote Eric Grosse, engineering director of Google's Security Team, in a post on the company blog.
"This campaign, which appears to originate from Jinan, China, affected what seem to be the personal Gmail accounts of hundreds of users including, among others, senior U.S. government officials, Chinese political activists, officials in several Asian countries (predominantly South Korea), military personnel and journalists."
Google credited its own security measures for detecting and disrupting the intrusions. Mila Parkour, a security researcher who helped alert Google to the Gmail breach, said the attacks had been occurring for at least a year before they were finally uncovered.

US lawmakers block China firms from Pentagon contracts
Ridiculously typical of the U.S. Government, passing a law where you don't need to.
It should be a given that anyone affiliated with any company that has dealings with China, including China itself should not be able to bid on any U.S, defense contracts!
Actually all our defense contracts should be bid on only by Americans and American companies, why would you want to potentially help out a potential enemy?
For some stupid ass reason the possibility has been there.
BBC
Lawmakers in the US House of Representatives have voted to bar Chinese defence firms from receiving Pentagon contracts.
The amendment was passed as part of a larger defense budget bill passed by the House in Washington on Wednesday.
It excludes all companies owned by or affiliated to the Chinese government from US defense deals.
The US Senate must also pass the bill before it can be approved by President Barack Obama.
Congresswoman Rose DeLauro, a sponsor of the amendment, said it would help guard US national security interests.
"With China making significant progress in the defense and aerospace industries, including a Chinese state-controlled company considering a bid for the contract for the next presidential helicopter, it is critical that we ensure US national security is protected and that the highly skilled jobs and associated technologies in these industries are not outsourced overseas," she said in a statement.

China's governement planned ghost cities
These sorts of towns raise the question -- does the government have some amazing vision for filling these cities... or are they just great white elephants that are wasting public funds?"
Can anyone say housing bubble? That coupled with China's demographics....it looks like they'll be hurting 20 years from now. AP
In China's Inner Mongolia, Kangbashi district offers residents "new modern" living, with tree-lined streets, shiny apartment buildings, vast parklands, restaurants and even a motor racing track.
But seven years after construction workers broke ground on the arid plateau, most of the apartments appear empty and the wide streets are almost deserted -- earning Kangbashi the tag of "ghost city".
The new section of Ordos city on the edge of the Gobi desert was designed to accommodate about 300,000 people but residents say fewer than one-tenth of that number live in Kangbashi. Estate agents insist the number is much higher.[...]
Ordos is part of a nationwide building boom that has been fuelled by a massive credit binge, raising fears of a real estate bubble and a potential explosion in bad debts, especially among local government investment vehicles.

China Does Not Have The Capability To Challenge The U.S."
So will General Chen Bingde be having a stay at a re education Camp?
Something is not right with this, China never condones any talk like this.
Never trust a Communist.
Foxnews
China's top military officer said Wednesday that his country lacked the equipment and directives necessary to challenge the U.S. militarily.
"Through my visit over the past couple of days in the United States, I am surprised by the sophistication of the U.S. military, including its weapons and equipment and doctrines and so on," People's Liberation Army leader General Chen Bingde said. "I can tell you that China does not have the capability to challenge the United States. As a matter of fact, the reconnaissance activities along China's coast by U.S. military aircraft and vessels are seen in China as deterrents."
For emphasis, the general added, "What I'm trying to say is that we do not have the capability to challenge the United States."
Chen made the comments at a joint Pentagon press briefing with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Admiral Mike Mullen, in response to a question about potential exaggerations in some U.S. media circles regarding China's military capability. The briefing followed two days of what both military leaders described as positive meetings about U.S.-China military relations.

China defense budget to stir regional disquiet
Up 12.7% from last year which was up from the previous year.
our defense budget is in Jeopardy as usual.
No problem, When China comes to collect on their notes with the U.S., they can do it with a bigger Military behind them !
(Reuters) - China will beef up its military budget by 12.7 percent this year, the government said on Friday, a return to double-digit spending increases that will stir regional unease.
The country's growing military clout has coincided with a more assertive diplomatic tone, evident in spats last year with Japan and Southeast Asia over disputed islands, and in rows with Washington over trade, the yuan currency and human rights.
Chinese parliamentary spokesman Li Zhaoxing said the defense budget would be 601.1 billion yuan ($91.5 billion) in 2011, from 532.1 billion yuan last year. The budget went up by just 7.5 percent in 2010, after a long period of double-digit hikes.
Many experts believe China's actual spending on the 2.3 million-strong People's Liberation Army (PLA) is far higher than what the government reports.

Online call for protests in China prompts crackdown
Another attempt at rebellion tomorrow, and the opposition they sit in the lovely detention center; gonna miss the whole shindig as they are being "Re-calibrated" at the labor camp.
Same old thing, Little to no Internet, no standing around, get off the Streets you are not in control, don't look at us funny or we will beat you down.
The Los Angeles Times
An anonymous online campaign calling for pro-democracy demonstrations across China on Sunday has been met with the detention of human rights activists, greater Internet censorship and even veiled pressure on foreign journalists.
The strict response by authorities comes after a U.S.-based Chinese-language website, Boxun.com, called for repeated attempts each Sunday to launch a "jasmine revolution" in about two dozen cities, including Beijing and Shanghai.
The first planned attempt, which was held last Sunday, brought out a swarm of police and foreign media in some of the designated sites but provided no evidence the country was on the cusp of a popular uprising.
Still, with regimes toppling in North Africa and the Middle East, authorities in China deemed the threat strong enough to have interrogated, arrested and detained at home dozens of people suspected of fomenting the anti-government movement.
Human rights groups based outside China said Friday that police had charged five activists this week with "subversion of state power" and "inciting subversion of state power," serious crimes that carry potentially decade-long prison sentences.

U.S. Government Slips Through China Internet Censors With New Technology
Good one, But will anyone have the Gonads to implement it?
Foxnews
The U.S. government has figured out how to bust through Internet censorship filters in order to deliver news and other vital information via e-mail to people in countries like China, according to a recent report.
The official report from the Broadcasting Board of Governors detailed successful testing the agency conducted last year as it tried to slip data into inboxes in Hong Kong and China. The testing involved technology known as Feed Over e-mail, or FOE, to bypass traps the Chinese government has in place to screen out unwanted Internet content.
According to the report, first obtained and published by the nonprofit GovernmentAttic through a Freedom of Information Act request, the technology "performed well in all tests." BBG confirmed the report's authenticity to FoxNews.com.
Experts behind the testing said this information weapon probably could not have done much good in a situation like that unfolding in Egypt, where the government was flat-out blocking Internet access in response to the political unrest.
"If there's a blackout ... nothing works," BBG Director of Information Security Ken Berman said.
But the agency's testing demonstrated that, at least in China, it can be used effectively to transmit everything from RSS feeds to downloadable files to proxy web addresses which users can access to browse an uncensored version of the Internet.

China arrests 96 over tainted milk
No executions, Yet.
But 17 life sentences so far.
A big red handed Smackdown on those responsible.
(Reuters) - Chinese police have arrested 96 people for lacing milk powder with the toxic additive melamine, state news agency Xinhua said on Thursday, the same chemical that killed several babies in a milk powder scandal in 2008.
Last July, samples of milk powder found in northwest China's Gansu and Qinghai provinces had levels of melamine up to 500 times the permitted limit, underscoring the lax enforcement of food safety in the country.
Among those arrested, 17 had been convicted, including two people sentenced to life in prison, Xinhua said, citing a statement from the State Council's Food Safety Commission.
Thirty-eight people were awaiting trial, the report said, adding that Chinese authorities had seized 2,132 tons of melamine-tainted milk powder. The remaining 41 were "under investigation in police custody". It did not elaborate further.

More than 200 Chinese children poisoned by lead
In the never ending pursuit of poisoning the Kids throughout the world, China strikes again.
Hey kids Go play across the street, next to that nice building over there.
One of the plants was separated from residences in Gaohe by only a narrow road
(Reuters) - More than 200 Chinese children have been poisoned by lead from battery plants located too close to houses in the east of the country, state media said on Thursday, the latest in a string of heavy metal pollution cases.
After tests last month showed three children in Gaohe in Anhui province had elevated levels of lead in their blood, 280 others were subsequently checked, more than 200 of whom were found to have been poisoned, Xinhua news agency said.
Authorities have now closed both battery plants blamed for the poisoning, the report said.
One of the plants was separated from residences in Gaohe by only a narrow road, it added, in contravention of environmental protection guidelines.
Some of the children affected were just a few months old, the official news agency said.
"When she was a baby, she stayed with my in-laws in Changsha, of the central Hunan Province, and was perfectly healthy. She's been in Gaohe town for just a few months," resident Jiang Feng told Xinhua of her poisoned child.
