The target seems like a normal lawyer type of a guy, sure people do not like lawyers but the guy does not seem like he is a shyster type.

At the wheel of the station wagon was Erik G. Chappell, 42, of La Salle, a local lawyer who coaches 4th through 6th grade boys’ football as part of the Catholic Youth Organization. He and his boys appear to have been headed to football practice when the bomb exploded at 5:41 p.m. on East Elm Avenue just east of I-75.

It is known that Al Qaeda and others like them would love to attack the U.S. again, especially on the Anniversary of 9/11.

It was the first "active plot" timed to coincide with the somber commemoration of the terror group's 9/11 attacks a decade ago that killed nearly 3,000 people.
Counterterrorism officials were investigating the threat throughout the night and into Friday, as police in New York and Washington said they would increase their already stepped-up staffing levels in light of the recent intelligence.
Law enforcement officials were pursuing three people who may be traveling to the U.S. or who have recently entered the country, based on the detailed information received by the U.S. intelligence community late Wednesday, officials said. The intelligence suggested that al-Qaida planned to car bomb one of the two cities that were hit 10 years ago.

A car bomb targeting a military facility has killed at least six people and wounded 15 in Aden, the main city in southern Yemen, medics and soldiers have said.
Soldiers reported to the news agency AFP, that the blast went off as troops prepared to leave the facility for Abyan province, where security forces are engaged in fierce fighting with groups suspected of ties to al-Qaeda.
"We were preparing to leave for Abyan when a car came in front of the gate of the camp, and then there was a huge explosion," said one soldier who survived Sunday's attack.
Two senior officers, a major and a lieutenant-colonel, were among the dead, said officials.
The car bomb was the second in less than two months in Aden and followed repeated warnings by officials that al-Qaeda-linked fighters were infiltrating the Arabian Sea port city to prepare for attacks there against security forces.

The force of the blast flattened the building, police said. Emergency workers were searching for bodies and survivors in the rubble.
The building was close to Pakistani army facilities and the US consulate.
Pakistani Taliban said they carried out the attack, several of which have taken place since Osama Bin Laden was killed.

A car bomb has exploded in southern Afghanistan, injuring at least 24 people, including police and intelligence officers.
The car exploded in the main market in the border town of Spin Boldak, the officer to the governor of Kandahar province told Al Jazeera on Thursday.
"Sixteen civilians have been injured. Six intelligence personnel have been injured, two border police have been injured," said Abdul Razaq, a senior border police official.
"The bomber was being chased by the intelligence department. He detonated in the middle of the town."
In the last three weeks, more than 100 people including many bystanders have died in six large blasts.

Four exploded within the Iraqi capital itself. A car bomb in Baghdad's mainly Shi'ite northwestern district of Kadhimiya exploded near a bus carrying Iranian pilgrims, killing one and wounding seven, police and Interior Ministry sources said.
Other car bombs detonated near a hotel in Baghdad's central Abu Nawas street, two police patrols in the southern Ilaam district and in al-Mesbah in central Baghdad, killing three people, including a policeman, and wounding 18, the sources said.
Elsewhere, a car bomb killed two people and wounded four in Taji, 20 km (12 miles) north of Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source said. A police source said it was a roadside bomb.

The bombings, rare attacks in the Iranian capital, occurred ahead of a possible meeting between Iran and major powers next month to discuss the country's nuclear program.
Analysts say information about Iran's nuclear activities is very valuable for the United States and its allies, particularly ahead of the meeting.
In the past months, Iran has arrested a number of "nuclear spies," warning citizens over leaking information to foreign secret services.
"Majid Shahriyari was martyred and his wife was injured ... Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani and his wife were both wounded," state radio said. "The attackers planted a bomb on each of the teachers' vehicles."

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- The death toll from a suicide car bomb attack on a police facility in Pakistan's largest city has risen to 17, police said.
The number of wounded in the attack -- which took place in the city of Karachi on Thursday -- has also risen to 180, said police official Javed Hussain.
Hussain said about 500 kg (1,100 lbs) of explosives was used in the attack.
Pakistani Taliban spokesman Azam Tariq told CNN that the Taliban carried out the attack, which police say targeted building that housed a Crime Investigation Department facility.
"We will continue such attacks as long as military operations continue against us," Tariq said. Pakistani security forces have been battling the group in the country's tribal region, which borders Afghanistan.

MIRAMSHAH: The Taliban said Tuesday they would continue to target Pakistani security forces with suicide attacks as they claimed responsibility for the latest blast that killed 19, its spokesman said.
“We are targeting Pakistani security forces because the government has allowed America to launch drone attacks on us,” Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Azam Tariq told AFP by telephone.
“Rather it is on the Pakistan government's behest that drone attacks target us,” he said.
“We will continue suicide attacks on security forces. Civilians should avoid proximity with them.”
Tariq claimed responsibility for Monday's suicide attack on a police station in northwestern Pakistan in which 19 people were killed.
Nine policemen and four schoolchildren were among those killed by the attack in Lakki Marwat in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, not far from tribal areas that are a stronghold of the Taliban.

Eleven policemen and four passing schoolchildren were among those killed in the attack in Lakki Marwat town, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Pakistani Taliban said they carried out the bombing.
Last week, the group said it had carried out several attacks on Shia Muslims that left more than 100 dead.

Seven people have been killed and 14 injured in a bomb blast in China's Xinjiang region.
The explosion happened in Aksu city in the west of the remote western region.
A local government spokeswoman, Hou Hanmin, said a Uighur man drove a three-wheeled vehicle carrying an explosive device into a crowd.
The man was arrested at the scene and investigations were ongoing, Ms Hou said.
The motive behind what appears to be a bomb blast in China's western Xinjiang region is not yet clear. But many will suspect it is linked to the region's ongoing ethnic tension.
There have not been many major incidents over recent months since last year's riots that left nearly 200 dead. But few people suspect the underlying ethnic problems have been solved.
A visitor to Xinjiang's capital, Urumqi, can instantly see the distrust between these two ethnic groups; they mostly live in separate areas.
Many of Xinjiang's mostly Muslim Uighurs complain that Han Chinese migrants are changing the nature of the region - as well as taking all the best jobs.
Xinjiang's governor, speaking on Thursday before the explosion was known about, was reported to have said that the government faced a long, fierce struggle against separatism.
"It was a three-wheeled vehicle, it has an explosive device on it," she told the BBC Chinese service.

(Reuters) - A suspected car bomb exploded on Thursday in the north of Colombia's capital Bogota outside a main radio station, slightly injuring six people and blowing out windows in a rare urban attack.
Television images showed a damaged bus abandoned on a main avenue and panicked residents in the streets, but police said there were no deaths in the first major bombing since President Juan Manuel Santos took office at the weekend.
"This is a terrorist attack," Santos told reporters at the site of the blast.
Bombings and attacks on Colombian cities have dropped sharply since former President Alvaro Uribe took office in 2002. Violence from the country's war ebbed as Uribe's security campaign battered leftist rebels and drug traffickers.
The main anchorman of Caracol, one of the country's major radio stations, has received threats from armed groups before and has in the past left Colombia for his safety.

Mexico (Reuters) - A Mexican drug cartel is responsible for a cell phone-detonated car bomb that killed four people in a city on the U.S. border, state security forces said on Friday.
In the first attack of its kind in Mexico's drug war, the explosion tore through a major intersection in Ciudad Juarez across the border from El Paso, Texas, late on Thursday, damaging nearby buildings and sending flames into the air.
Federal police blamed La Linea, the armed wing of the powerful Juarez cartel, for the attack and Mexico's Security Ministry said it was retaliation for the arrest this week of a Juarez cartel member.
"There were 10 kilos (22 pounds) of explosives, activated from a distance by a cell phone," said Enrique Torres, an army spokesman in Ciudad Juarez, a manufacturing center that has become one of the world's deadliest cities over the past 2 1/2 years.
TV images showed the wreck of a car with just one front wheel intact and two federal police vehicles charred and on fire after the blast in the city's downtown area.
The army said C4 plastic explosive was used in the attack, which killed a policeman, a doctor, a rescue worker and an unidentified man.
Ciudad Juarez Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz said drug gangs set up an elaborate trap in which a wounded man dressed as a city police officer was dumped on the street as bait. The assailants then called emergency services to lure federal police to the scene and detonated the bomb as they arrived, the mayor told a news conference.

Faisal Shahzad, of Shelton, Conn., pleaded guilty in federal court in Manhattan to a 10-count indictment that included charges of conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction, attempting an act of terrorism and transportation of an explosive. He faces life in prison when he is sentenced.

N.Irish police uncover large bomb in abandoned van

(Reuters) - Security forces in Northern Ireland have defused a 300 lb (136 kg) bomb in an abandoned van outside a police station, which would have been deadly if it had been detonated, police said on Friday.
Some 350 people were evacuated from their homes in the border village of Aughnacloy in County Tyrone late on Thursday, after police were made aware of a telephone warning and told the device would go off within the hour.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said dissident Republicans opposed to Northern Ireland's peace process had called in a coded warning to a Belfast newspaper but declined to say which dissident group had claimed responsibility.
"I have no doubt that if this device had detonated it would have caused complete devastation and lives would certainly have been lost," PSNI Superintendent Brian Kee said. Local inhabitants said the van was abandoned with the engine running and the driver's door open.
