Rioting continues for third night in London

This is definitely more than just a few people pissed off over a shooting.

Can you say Anarchists? You know those little pieces of shit you see at all the riots, Dressed in black hoodies and their faces masked.

Xinhuanet
The streets of London were hit on Monday evening with a third night of violence as rioters attacked police, set fire to cars and looted shops in areas across the capital, which pressed Prime Minister David Cameron to cut short his holiday.

The districts of Peckham, Lewisham, Croydon and Deptford in south London saw violence, as well as Hackney in east London. Shops were set on fire in Peckham, a building set alight in Croydon and cars were torched in Lewisham and Deptford.

Police reported they had made arrests in the north London district of Kilburn.

Meanwhile, Cameron has decided to cut short his holiday to return to London due to the ongoing riots, his office said on Monday night.

Cameron, who is on vacation in Italy, will return overnight and hold a high-level meeting on the escalating riots on Tuesday, his office said in a brief statement.

For the first time since the violence began on Saturday evening, disturbances have been reported outside London.

Looting, rioting spreads in London

Second day of riots, 35 police injured.
No tanks, snipers or suicide bombings though; the police are just trying to calm them not kill them.

The Economic Times
Several instances of looting and clashes were reported across the city as mob angry over the killing of a man in north London combined with ennui over harsh economic conditions attacked police in a second night of violence, reminding many of racial unrest in the 1980s.

Over 100 people were arrested as the attacks that began in Tottenham spread to areas such as Enfield, Brixton, Dalston, Islington Walthamstow and Tottenham seemed to be coordinated. Oxford Circus was also targeted.

Police brought in additional forces to deal with increasing attacks on public property and maintain peace.

UK: Good news. London mega mosque plans fall through.

Mega mosque faces eviction Jamaat Tablighi? You're outta here. ---->

From the Times UK:

Controversial plans to build Europe’s biggest mosque close to the London Olympics site have been halted, The Times has learnt. (Ed. Note: 2012 Olympic officials breathe sigh of relief.)

Tablighi Jamaat, the Islamic sect behind the proposal, is to be evicted this week from the East London site, where it has been operating illegally a temporary mosque (Ed. Note: For three years I might add.) and had planned a complex that would accommodate 12,000 worshippers. (Ed. Note: It was called a mega mosque for a reason. As originally planned it would have held FOUR more times than the largest Anglican cathedral in Britain.)

The Muslim Council of Britain said that the group had fallen victim to “unfounded hostility and hysteria”.

However, another Muslim organisation last night welcomed the move. Minhaj-ul-Quran, which advises the Government on how to combat youth radicalisation, said that a mosque should be a “community effort” and not the initiative of one group with extremist links.

About Tablighi Jamaat:

"Tablighi Jamaat is a global and ambitious organisation with a secretive, separatist nature. Its narrow medieval form of Deobandi Islam is deliberately hostile to the modern and open democratic societies of the West. Its frequent claims to be non-political and non-violent are at best a superficial cloak that hides a deeper agenda."

That deeper agenda includes:

Connection with terrorism plots, including the October 2002 Portland Seven and the September 2002 Lackawanna Six cases in the United States, as well as the August 2006 plot to bomb airliners en route from London to the United States, the July 7, 2005, London Underground bombings and the July 2007 attempted bombings in London and Glasgow, Scotland and the Shoe Bomber, Richard Reid.

Unfounded hostility and hysteria? I don't think so.

Iran thinking about attacking London

Iran...state sponsor of terror. Jerusalem Post

Fearing a US strike on Iran during President George W. Bush's last months in office, a senior Iranian official has suggested the Islamic regime should target London to deter such an attack.

In an article on the Iranian Web site Aftab last week - translated by the Washington-based Middle East Media Research Institute - the head of the Europe and US Department in the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Wahid Karimi, said that an attack on London would deter the US from attacking Teheran.

"The most appropriate means of deterrence that Iran has, in addition to a retaliatory operation in the [Gulf] region, is to take action against London," Karimi said.

In the article, the Iranian official said that an attack might also stem from the fact that presidents in their second terms are "usually adventuresome."

'Israeli strike against Iran won't work'
Citing some examples he said: "US presidents are usually adventuresome in their second terms... [Richard] Nixon, disgraced by the Watergate scandal; [Ronald] Reagan, with the 'Irangate' adventure; [and Bill] Clinton, with Monica Lewinsky - and perhaps George Bush, the sitting president, will create a scandal connected to Iran's legitimate nuclear activity so as not to be left behind."

He speculated that a US attack on Iran could come between next month's presidential election and when the new president enters office in January 2009.

"In the worst-case scenario, George Bush may perhaps persuade the president-elect to carry out an ill-conceived operation against Iran, prior to January 20, 2009 - that is, before the regime is handed over and he ends his presence in the White House. The next president of the US will have to deal with the consequences," he warned.

Admitting that previous Iranian warnings to paralyze "the Jerusalem-occupying regime" to deter "American adventurism" has not worked, Karimi said that "the most appropriate means of deterrence" for Iran would be to attack London.
