The state's prisons used to be the site of frequent battles between gangs, but deaths in such disputes had appeared to decline over the last year.

Incoming small town Mexico mayor kidnapped, killed

Nice, you cant even be a mayor elect in Mexico.

This is like the 6th or 7th Mayor killed in the past couple months.

(Reuters) - A mayor-elect from the Mexican state of Veracruz was kidnapped and killed along with two companions on Monday, local media reported.

The reports did not link the killings to the violence sweeping Mexico as the government fights powerful drug cartels. Several mayors and other elected officials have been targeted by drug gangs in recent months.

Gregorio Barradas Miravete, the mayor-elect from the municipality of Juan Rodriguez Clara, was a member of President Felipe Calderon's National Action Party.

It is just non stop Mayhem in Mexico.

(Reuters) - Suspected drug hitmen shot dead 15 people at a car wash in western Mexico on Wednesday, the third massacre in just a few days, putting new pressure on President Felipe Calderon to stop the growing violence.

The war next door: Horrific brutality of Mexican drug cartels 'makes al Qaeda look tame'

Well over a year ago we were saying this. No big deal, It was pretty apparent to most everyone back then.

Mailonline
Mass graves: This is not Iraq or Afghanistan, but Ciudad Juarez

For most Americans it is hard to understand the level of brutality consuming many regions in Mexico now.

The level of violence between warring drug-trafficking cartels has been compared to terrorism, with one former DEA officer saying: 'I think they make al Qaeda look tame in terms of what they do.'

Vicious cartels fight with each other over turf and the authorities over smuggling routes to the U.S. and distribution rights in Mexican neighbourhoods.

The bulk of this murderous conflict occurs just south of the 2,000-mile-long U.S. border, so close-by that bullets from gunfire in Mexico have struck buildings on the American side of the fence.

In the nearly four years since Mexican President Felipe Calderon, firmly supported by the U.S. government, launched an unprecedented attack on Mexico's drug kingpins, nearly 30,000 people have been killed.

Gunmen kill 13 at birthday party in Mexico

Any time the Cartel does this, their is a reason.

It may not have been the Birthday boy, but it could have been his Father or his Uncle, even his little brother maybe just a friend that was their.

The Cartels do not care who they kill when they are trying to off their target.

(Reuters) - Gunmen sprayed bullets into a family birthday party in the violent Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez, killing 13 people and wounding 20, authorities said on Saturday.

It was the second massacre at a party this month in Ciudad Juarez, which borders El Paso, Texas, and is one of the world's most violent cities as drug cartels battle security forces and each other over smuggling routes into the United States.

"I threw myself down on the floor and then a lot of other people piled on top of me," a young man who survived the shooting late on Friday told Reuters, declining to give his name out of fear of reprisals.

The celebration was for a boy's 15th birthday, he said.

At least four of the people killed at the house party were teenagers and a 9-year-old boy was among the wounded, officials said.

"A group of heavily armed men arrived in two minivans. At least 10 men burst into the party," Carlos Gonzalez, a spokesman for state prosecutors, told the Reforma newspaper.

It was not clear whether the shooting was related to Mexico's drug war, which has killed more than 6,900 people in Ciudad Juarez alone since early 2008.

It is an Unfortunate fact that the teenagers of Mexico are usually hooked up with the "AA" Artist Assassins, They get paid to kill for the cartel.

U.S. Worsens Mexican Violence by Returning Criminal Aliens to Border Cities, Mayors Say

I guess the Rampant poverty , shity living conditions , and total disrespect for any Laws in your own country Have nothing to do with it ?

Foxnews
A coalition of Mexican mayors has asked the United States to stop deporting illegal immigrants who have been convicted of serious crimes in the U.S. to Mexican border cities, saying the deportations are contributing to Mexican border violence.

The request was made at a recent San Diego conference in which the mayors of four Mexican border cities and one U.S. mayor, San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders, gathered to discuss cross-border issues.

Ciudad Juarez Mayor Jose Reyes blamed U.S. deportation policy for contributing to his city's violence, saying that of the 80,000 people deported to Juarez in the past three years, 28,000 had U.S. criminal records -- including 7,000 convicted rapists and 2,000 convicted murderers.

Those criminal deportees, he said, have contributed to the violence in Juarez, which has reported more than 2,200 murders this year. Reyes and the other Mexican mayors said that when the U.S. deports criminals back to Mexico, it should fly them to their hometowns, not just bus them to the border.

U.S. Border Patrol Agents in 'Firefight' With Mexican Gang

See there is no problem along the Border !

If those rotten Border Patrol agents would just stop being so mean , then they would have never been shot at !

Noe move along .

Foxnews
SAN ANTONIO -- U.S. Border Patrol agents fired gunshots into Mexico after coming under attack during a half-ton drug bust and giving chase to a truck along the Rio Grande, U.S. authorities said Monday.

No Border Patrol agents were hurt during the "fire fight" early Saturday in Mission, agency spokeswoman Rosalinda Huey said. She did not say whether Border Patrol gunfire hit anyone, citing the ongoing investigation.

"The firing they received came from the Mexican side," Huey said...

It was at least the second time in three months that Border Patrol agents in Texas have fired into Mexico. In June, a Border Patrol agent fatally shot a 15-year-old Mexican boy after authorities say a group trying to illegally enter Texas threw rocks at officers near downtown El Paso.

Reports of bullets whizzing across the border from Mexico also are on the rise. At least eight bullets have been fired into El Paso in the last few weeks from the rising violence in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, where drug violence has killed more than 4,000 people since 2009, making it one of the deadliest cities in the world.

Women reportedly recruited for cartel killings

No you even have to watch the women in Mexico , what a mess , and the final tally for this past weekend 51 , Not a record but like I said what a mess !

51 between Friday and Sunday , with 24 all on Sunday , And then another 9 today by Noon !

El Paso Times
An alleged hit man told Mexican federal police that beautiful young women are working as killers for the Juárez drug cartel.

"They have to look good to deceive our opponents," Rogelio Amaya Martínez said in a videotaped interview by Mexico's Ministry of Public Safety. Amaya, 27, is one of five men arrested Thursday in Juárez and accused of being a cartel hit squad that killed two federal police officers in separate attacks earlier this month.

Amaya, who appears relaxed in the video while answering questions from a woman off screen, said there are 20 to 30 women working as sicarias, or hit women. El Universal newspaper in Mexico placed the video online.

The female assassins range in age from 18 to 30, and they work alongside men in cells of La Linea, as the Juárez drug cartel is known, Amaya said. A recruiter selects the women, he said.

Cells are assigned to different jobs - such as halcones (lookouts), hit squads and extortionists - and operate independently. The hit women are trained to use rifles and handguns and sometimes accompany their male counterparts.

The Department said in a statement late Saturday that the commander held by officers earlier in the day was transferred to Mexico City along with three other officials. All will be investigated for "possible irregular conduct."

Mexico drug cartels use gory videos to spread fear

And let us not forget , the Cartels have studied Al Qaida videos on youtube !

They have modeled themselves after AQ and other terrorist organizations .

(Reuters) - Powerful drug cartels are increasingly using gruesome videos of executions and interrogations to intimidate their rivals, police and an already terrified public in Mexico's vicious drug war.

The drug gangs, battling for control of lucrative smuggling routes into the United States, have long attached handwritten notes to victims they dump in public as a way to scare rival gangs and pesky state officials.

But they are now airing more and more of their dirty work and threats on blogs or Web sites like YouTube, and bullying Mexican media into putting their gory tapes on television for wider play.

The aggressive media strategy raises new questions about whether President Felipe Calderon's war on drugs is making any headway in weakening the gangs and in reining in a drug trade worth up to $40 billion a year in Mexico alone.

The US has closed indefinitely its consulate in Ciudad Juarez, the Mexican city worst affected by the drugs war being fought by rival gangs.

A statement from the US embassy in Mexico City said the consulate would remain shut until a security review is completed.

In 2009, more than 2,600 people died in drug-related violence in Juarez, across the border from El Paso, Texas.

A US official said the consulate had closed following a "credible threat".

A statement on the consulate's website advised American citizens to avoid the area around the building.

The consulate is the only place handling applications for US residency from Mexican citizens.

Mexican police say they have arrested a gang leader responsible for killing three people connected to the US consulate in Ciudad Juarez in March.

Jesus Ernesto Chavez admitted targeting a US consular worker because she was thought to have given visas to a rival gang, police said.

Her husband and another man linked to the consulate were also killed.

The murders raised fears that US interests had become a target in Mexico's drugs war.

Police say the suspect leads a gang known as the Aztecs, which is linked to the Juarez cartel, one of Mexico's most powerful drug-trafficking organisations.

He is also accused of taking part in the murder of 13 teenagers at a party in Ciudad Juarez in January.
