Are peace talks doomed to fail before they start?

There is a deep reason the majority of Israelis and Palestinians can't move toward the two-state solution.

This is a Joke Question Right ?
Yes peace talks in the Middle East are Doomed before they Start .
The fact that Palestinians will never be happy until Israel is wiped off the face of the Earth has a little bit to do with it .
Again Both sides are equally Stubborn .

Haaretz.com
After more than a year in which both Obama and Netanyahu have been in office, the truly minuscule movement of resuming indirect peace talks is currently the only achievement on the peace front. Whose fault is this? The Middle East has been prone to an endless blame game. The Palestinians accuse Israel of not wanting peace, and justifiably point to the proliferation of settlements in the West Bank. Israeli commentators point out that the Palestinians have opted out every time Israel proposes something that they should accept, as in the Taba Summit of 2001 and during Olmert's talks with Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas).

This discussion does not only take place between Palestinians and Israelis, but also inside Israel. There are the commentators like Akiva Eldar and Gideon Levy who consistently argue that Israel has misrepresented its offers; that Ehud Barak's 'There is no Partner' line from the year 2000 covers up the truth that Israel never made viable offers. Then again there are commentators like Nachum Barnea and Ehud Yaari, who, in his recent article in Foreign Affairs, argue that the Palestinians don't really want a state, and that they are actually waiting for the moment where they can, as he puts it, 'fall into Israel's arms,' dismantle the Palestinian Authority and force a binational state on Israel, thus ending the possibility of Israel's being a Jewish and democratic state.

Palestinians accuse U.S. of killing peace prospects

Oh the Never ending Diplomacy that is the Middle east peace Talks !
Now it is The United States fault that the talks will cease , Not the Ignorance of the Palestinians or even the Israeli's , bitching back and forth for how many years now ?
It is just more of the same , the Middle east will never change , Because the People who live there Don't want it to !

....
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Pointing an accusing finger at the United States, the Palestinians on Sunday said Washington's backing for Israeli refusal to halt Jewish settlement expansion had killed any hope of reviving peace negotiations soon.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, buoyed by new-found support from the Obama administration, urged the Palestinians to "get a grip" and drop their settlement freeze precondition for restarting talks suspended since December.

On a one-day Middle East visit on Saturday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton endorsed Israel's view that settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank should not be a bar to resuming negotiations -- contradicting the Palestinian position.

Netanyahu has proposed limiting building for now to some 3,000 settler homes already approved by Israel in the West Bank. He does not regard building in occupied East Jerusalem, annexed in defiance of international opposition, as settlement.

U.S. President Barack Obama himself, after persuading Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in September to meet Netanyahu in New York, called only for "restraint" in settlement, not the "freeze" he had previously proposed.

Stung by Obama's about-face and Clinton's remarks, the Palestinians voiced their frustration.

"The negotiations are in a state of paralysis, and the result of Israel's intransigence and America's back-pedaling is that there is no hope of negotiations on the horizon," Abbas spokesman Nabil Abu Rdainah said.

He said the Palestinians were calling for the Arab League to formulate a "unified Palestinian-Arab position" on the stalled peace process.

Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said it was a "critical moment" and insisted settlement must halt to revive peace moves.

"Pressuring Palestinians to make further concessions to accommodate Israeli intransigence is not the answer," he said.

Netanyahu bows to Obama, accepts Palestinian "state"

On the surface this sounds all good , but , when you realize what Netanyahu is asking for it is nothing new ! Palestine will never see Israel as a state ! They will Never give up their "Militant Ways " to appease Israel , they will never lay down their Arms and become Demilitarized !

RAMAT GAN, Israel (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded on Sunday to uncommon pressure from Washington by finally giving his endorsement -- with conditions -- to the establishment of a Palestinian state.

But in a speech answering President Barack Obama's address to the Arab world 10 days ago, the right-wing leader's defense of Jewish settlement on occupied land may fail to dispel tension with the White House, as the two men try to set new terms for the Middle East peace process in their first months in office.
Obama called Netanyahu's shift in position on Palestinian statehood as an "important step forward," even as aides to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas were denouncing the speech as "sabotaging" negotiations by restating Israel's refusal to share the city of Jerusalem or accept Palestinian refugees.

Netanyahu, who has refused to back a state for Palestinians since he took office in March, said he would now endorse the establishment of a such a state -- but only if Israel received in advance international guarantees the new nation would have no army and Palestinians recognized Israel as a Jewish state.

U.S. envoy begins new Middle East peace push

Ah ! some more wasted Taxpayer Dollars ! This will end up like all other attempts at peace for the Middle east , with both sides still hating each other and a lot of Bitterness towards the U.S. , These people ( Both Sides ) suffer from to much Arrogance and Pride to work out a deal ! And even if they do come to an Agreement , their people will not abide by it ! And why is the U.S. expected to create peace here !

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama's special Middle East envoy, George Mitchell, began a new push to facilitate Israeli-Palestinian peace talks on Tuesday by opening a series of talks with leaders in the region.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is at odds with Obama over the president's demand to halt Israeli settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank and has not endorsed the creation of a Palestinian state, a cornerstone of U.S. Middle East policy.

Obama spoke to Netanyahu by phone on Monday and the White House said the president "reiterated the principal elements of his Cairo speech, including his commitment to Israel's security."

In his address to the Muslim world in Cairo last week, Obama also called on Israel to freeze settlements.

Netanyahu is to make a major policy speech on Sunday in which a senior official said the Israeli leader would "articulate his vision on how to move forward in the peace process with the Palestinians and with the larger Arab world."

A statement issued by the Netanyahu's office said "President Obama said he was waiting to hear the speech with interest."

Oh Man , Can't you just see it , The Cloning of your friendly neighborhood Suicide bomber or Some retard like Osama Bin Laden , Hey how about Clone your favorite Martyr specials !  Or  , Happy jihad Cloning day , WTF !

china news.net
An undisclosed country in the Middle East is hosting a human cloning laboratory.

A leading scientist in cloning has told a weekly Dubai-based magazine he has estabished a lab for human cloning.

Dr Panayiotis Zavos, the Cypriot scientist who is trying to clone a human baby for the first time, told Arabian Business the lack of anti-cloning laws in some Middle Eastern countries made the region attractive for cloning research.
Asked if he had a laboratory for cloning in the region, Zavos said: “The answer to that is yes.” He refused to disclose the exact location.

“My next efforts will be taking place in the Middle East because it is a lot easier an environment to work in. The Middle East is where I have to go as an opportunist, as someone who wants to do something. You go into the environment which is conducive to you doing something,” he said.

Dr Zavos added the Middle East’s patriarchal culture coupled with high infertility rates could prove to make it a lucrative region for future cloning.

According to Arabian Business in 2005, the UN General Assembly approved a non-binding declaration banning all forms of human cloning, which was backed by all the GCC countries, except for Oman, which abstained.
