"foreign fleet will be warned by Iranian forces if it enters the area of the drill."
Yep, the Iranian Navy sounds real tough.
Let the Fifth Fleet cruise through the straights of Hormuz and then we can see the Iranians poop themselves at the sheer size of a real Navy.
Foxnews
An Iranian surveillance plane has shot video and photographed a U.S. aircraft carrier during Iran's ongoing navy drill near a strategic waterway in the Persian Gulf, the official IRNA news agency reported on Thursday.
The report did not provide details and it was unclear what information the Iranian military could gleam from such footage. But the announcement is an indication Iran is seeking to cast its navy as having a powerful role in the region's waters.
IRNA quoted Iran's navy chief, Adm. Habibollah Sayyari, as saying the action shows that Iran has "control over the moves by foreign forces" in the area where Tehran is holding a 10-day military exercise.
"An Iranian vessel and surveillance plane have tracked, filmed and photographed a U.S. aircraft carrier as it was entering the Gulf of Oman from the Persian Gulf," Sayyari said.
He added that the "foreign fleet will be warned by Iranian forces if it enters the area of the drill."

China aircraft carrier confirmed by general
The Chinese have an old Russian aircraft carrier the are remodeling.
Big deal, what is anyone going to do about it.
If they are this far along in their quest to build the biggest military in the world and they are just now getting their first aircraft carrier and one that they did not build in the first place, there is not much to worry about.
I'd say they are still a little behind the U.S Navy, we currently have 11, we built them all by ourselves.
BBC
The head of China's General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has confirmed that China's first aircraft carrier is under construction.
Gen Chen Bingde refused to say when the carrier - a remodelled Soviet-era vessel, the Varyag - would be ready.
A member of his staff said the carrier would pose no threat to other nations.
The 300m (990ft) carrier, which is being built in the north-east port of Dalian, has been one of China's worst-kept secrets, analysts say.
Gen Chen made his comments to the Chinese-language Hong Kong Commercial Daily newspaper.

Iran Iranian Navy Sends Submarines to Red Sea
Iran, a new Naval threat?
Nahhhhhh. A joke yes, a threat nowhere close.
How can a submarine full of Islamic rejects be a threat when they will be busy molesting each other and the few goats they will have on board for the "fresh Milk"
Foxnews
TEHRAN, Iran -- Iran has sent submarines to the Red Sea in the first such deployment by the country's navy in distant waters, a semi-official news agency reported on Tuesday.
The deployment reflects Iran's efforts to show off its naval power. Iran has long sought to upgrade its air defense systems and navy to portray itself as a regional military superpower, as well as prepare for any possible future attacks against the country, saying they would most likely be air and sea-based.
The Fars news agency, which is close to Iranian military officials, said the submarines would collect data in international waters and identify warships of other countries.
The report quoted an unnamed government official as saying the submarines accompanied Iranian warships on an anti-piracy route in the Gulf of Aden before they moved into the Red Sea earlier this month. Fars gave no details on the number or capabilities of the submarines.
Iran has long had three Russian-made submarines and last year, four new small Iranian-built submarines were delivered to its navy.
The four were said to be Ghadir class submarines, which can fire missiles and torpedoes and at the same time are capable of cruising in shallow waters, such as those of the Persian Gulf off the Iranian coast.

Egypt Suez Canal told Iran warship passing scrapped
Why else would Iran be sailing up and down the Suez canal, other than to create tension in the area.
We won't find out now, it appears Egypt has told them they may not use the waterway.
Also had heard that a couple of U.S. Warships were sailing through the canal.
(Reuters) - The Suez Canal has been told that plans by two Iranian naval ships to cross the waterway were canceled, an official said on Thursday, removing a potential policy headache for Egypt's new army rulers.
It was not immediately clear which side was behind the cancellation. Any naval vessels passing through the canal, a strategic international shipping route, must first have approval from Egypt's foreign and defense ministries, officials said.
If the ships had crossed, it would have been the first time since Iran's 1979 revolution that Iranian warships had passed through the canal, officials said.
Iran's revolution poisoned ties with Egypt, which signed a peace treaty with Israel that year.
Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman had said plans for the two Iranian warships to sail through the canal en route to Syria were a "provocation." He had said the ships were expected to pass through the Suez Canal overnight on Wednesday.

Obama Tells Military: Prepare for N. Korea 'Aggression'
North Korean Aggression !
So who will take the next step ? South Korea is being somewhat cautious over the whole situation , Hillary is running around saying that the Norks will Pay for this , and North Korea is Chomping at the bit to have a little war .
Foxnews
WASHINGTON -- The White House said Monday that President Barack Obama "fully supports" the South Korean president and his response to the torpedo attack by North Korea that killed 46 South Korean sailors.
The administration said it endorsed President Lee Myung-bak's demand that "North Korea immediately apologize and punish those responsible for the attack, and, most importantly, stop its belligerent and threatening behavior."
Seoul can continue to count on the full backing of the United States, the White House said.
"U.S. support for South Korea's defense is unequivocal, and the president has directed his military commanders to coordinate closely with their Republic of Korea counterparts to ensure readiness and to deter future aggression," the White House said.
The South Korean president said Monday that his nation would no longer tolerate the North's "brutality" and said the repressive communist regime would pay for the surprise March 26 torpedo attack.
He also vowed to cut off all trade with the North and to take Pyongyang to the U.N. Security Council for punishment over the sinking of the warship Cheonan.

North Korea warns of all-out war, even as China urges calm
Oh No ! All out War !
Basically The Norks want to have themselves a Little War , Putting themselves in the Position of the "Ones being Threatened".
So Sinking a South Korean Naval ship resulting in 46 deaths , is not a provoking incident ?
But being pissed and saying so about the same , IS ?
North Korea has warned South Korea that it will not hesitate to launch an "all out war" if the latter decides to take "firm" measures" against it.
Pyongyang's aggressive broadside has prompted China to intervene and call for calm, the China Daily reports.
The broadside follows Seoul's accusation that North Korea blew up and sank naval ship, "Cheonan" on March 26 this year.
Pyongyang has denied involvement and called the investigation results a fabrication.
"Our army and people will promptly react to any 'punishment' and 'retaliation' and to any 'sanctions' infringing upon our state interests with various forms of tough measures including an all-out war," the DPRK's official news agency KCNA quoted the National Defense Commission as saying in a statement.
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has held an emergency meeting of his National Security Council today, but made it clear that his government has no plans for a retaliatory strike as of now.
Chinese Vice-Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai called the sinking "unfortunate" but refused to comment further. He reiterated China's long-standing view on the need to maintain peace on the Korean Peninsula.
"The parties involved should stay calm and exercise restraint ... to avoid escalation of the situation," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu told a separate briefing later on Thursday. (ANI)

South Korea says North torpedoed ship, tensions rise
South Korea Skirts right around going to the U.N. .
The Norks consider it an act of war if anything is done about it ( Nevermind the fact that they started it by sinking a S.Korean ship and killed 46 People )
China wants to investigate the whole incident themselves .
So is it off to war again in Korea ?
(Reuters) - South Korea accused the reclusive North on Thursday of torpedoing one of its warships, heightening tensions in the region and drawing a warning from the United States that Pyongyang must face consequences.
Jittery South Korean financial markets and its currency fell as Seoul vowed to take "firm" measures against its neighbor. Pyongyang, furiously denying the charge, warned it was ready for war if fresh sanctions were imposed.
The United States, which has some 28,000 troops stationed in the South following the 1950-53 Korean War, said it stood ready to help South Korea defend itself against any further "acts of aggression.
Amid international condemnation of North Korea, the impoverished country's only major ally, China, said it would make its own assessment of the South Korean investigation.
Mindful of the tension on the Korean peninsula, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and spokesmen for the White House and the State Department chose their words carefully in their responses to the report.
"Clearly this was a serious provocation by North Korea and there will definitely be consequences because of what North Korea has done," said State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley.

Seoul to blame North Korea for warship attack
So in the end , North Korea will receive a slap on the hand , and South Korea will still have one sunken ship and 46 Dead Sailors !
(Reuters) - South Korea will formally blame North Korea for sinking one of its navy ships in March, killing 46 sailors, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday.
Citing unidentified U.S. and East Asian officials, the newspaper said on its Web site Seoul had reached the conclusion that North Korea was responsible for the torpedo attack after investigators from Australia, Britain, Sweden and the United States pieced together portions of the ship.
The navy ship Cheonan sank on March 26 after an explosion on the vessel as it sailed in the Yellow Sea off South Korea's west coast.
The Post said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because South Korea had not yet disclosed the results of the investigation, said analyses showed the torpedo was identical to a North Korean torpedo previously obtained by South Korea.
The formal accusation is expected to be announced on Thursday and South Korea will ask the U.N. Security Council to take up the matter, Post sources said.

Iran tests speed boats in "major" Gulf war games
Iran tests out it's new Speed boat Navy !
No PFD's Required , And Suicide Belts are optional , In case you survived the first few bursts from the Millennium Gun...
From gizmag
The Millennium Gun is a multi-mission, close-in weapon system capable of engaging multiple fast-attack surface craft and near-shore land targets in littoral and riverine waters, as well as defending against anti-ship missiles and aircraft. Creating a "wall of lead," the Millennium Gun fires 35-mm ammunition, including the AHEAD round, at 1,000 rounds per minute. Each AHEAD dispenses 152 subprojectiles that form a cone-shaped pattern to destroy a target's control surfaces, seeker and other vital components as it moves through this lethal cloud.
...You may want one to finish yourself off with before the U.S Navy gets their hands on you !
(Reuters) - Iran's Revolutionary Guards successfully deployed a new speed boat capable of destroying enemy ships in war games that began on Thursday in a waterway crucial for global oil supplies, Iranian media reported.
The Islamic Republic, which is locked in a dispute with the West over its nuclear activities, often announces advances in its military capabilities in an apparent bid to show its readiness for any attack by Israel or the United States.
The Pentagon said on Wednesday U.S. military action against Iran remained an option even as Washington pursues diplomacy and sanctions to halt the country's atomic activities. U.S. under secretary of state for arms control Ellen Tauscher also said the military option, though a last resort, was still on the table.
Iranian media said naval, air and ground units of the elite Guards force would take part in the three-day exercise in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. About 40 percent of the world's traded oil leaves the Gulf region through the strategic narrows.
Western military analysts say Iran may resort to "asymmetric warfare" if it comes under attack, for example by deploying swarms of speed boats to disrupt enemy operations in the Gulf.
State broadcaster IRIB said the Guard put into operation for the first time its "smart and unique" Ya Mahdi vessel.
"The radar-evading, high-speed Ya Mahdi vessel is able to track and target the enemy's surface vessels in a smart way and destroy them," it said, adding it was now being mass produced.
A spokesman for the maneuvers, Ali-Reza Tangsiri, said Ya Mahdi was a remote-controlled vessel whose missiles could blow 7-meter holes in any enemy ship.

North Korea torpedoed South's navy ship
So what Happens now ?
Nothing , After they raise the other half of the Ship and prove that it was a torpedo , they will Probably verbally slap North Korea .
(Reuters) - South Korea's military believes a torpedo fired from a North Korean submarine sank its navy ship last month, based on intelligence gathered jointly with the United States, a news report said on Thursday.
World | South Korea | North Korea
The Yonhap news report appears to be the clearest sign yet that Seoul blames Pyongyang for what would be one of the deadliest incidents between the rivals since the end of the 1950-53 Korean War. It puts more political pressure on President Lee Myung-bak, but analysts do not see it triggering a war.
The military's intelligence arm sent the report of "certain" North Korean involvement to the presidential Blue House soon after the incident, Yonhap quoted a high-ranking military source as saying.
Lee's government has come under criticism for what many see as its overly cautious handling of possible links to North Korea. It has called for a thorough investigation of the sinking, thought to have killed 46 sailors.
Market players have been calmed by the South's measured response, seeing Seoul as unlikely to take aggressive moves that would escalate into armed conflict and harm the export-driven economies of North Asia, responsible for about one-sixth of the global economy.
South Korea's defense ministry had no comment on the report.
"North Korean submarines are all armed with heavy torpedoes with 200 kg (441 lb) warheads," the military source was quoted as saying by Yonhap. "It is the military intelligence's assessment that the North attacked with a heavy torpedo.
"The military intelligence has made the report to the Blue House and to the Defense Ministry immediately after the sinking of the Cheonan that it is clearly the work of North Korea's military," the source was quoted as saying.

North Korea suspected in blast that sank warship
North Korea has most likely sank a South Korean Naval ship , with a torpedo .
this could get ugly , if a Torpedo is determined the Cause , will South Korea retaliate ?
(Reuters) - The likelihood North Korea sank a South Korean naval ship near their disputed border rose when Seoul said on Friday an external explosion probably caused the ship to split in two, killing dozens.
South Korea's defense minister said this month the 1,200-tonne Cheonan may have been hit by a torpedo, immediately putting suspicion on North Korea and stoking concerns that the incident could start a conflict on the long divided peninsula.
"Conclusively, after a visual inspection, there is a higher chance of an outer explosion than an internal one," Yoon Duk-yong, a top investigation official, told a news conference.
Local media is increasingly pinning the blame on North Korea, in the absence of any other likely reasons for the explosion which sank the corvette late last month, thought to have killed 46 sailors.
Yoon said the twisting of metal from the salvaged stern that was raised on Thursday indicated the blast had come from outside but the team will wait until the rest of the ship was raised and other evidence gathered before reaching a final conclusion.
"The Cheonan was also halved in the middle. Therefore, it is highly likely that a torpedo fired from a submarine or mine
destroyed the ship," military expert and former submarine

South Korea says torpedo may have sunk navy ship
But they are not saying this is what they believe ,YET !
If it were a torpedo from friendly fire , they obviously would know .
If it were an antique Mine from the 50's , they would also have a pretty good idea about it .
But a torpedo from the Norks ? they just don't know.
(Reuters) - South Korea has not ruled out blaming a torpedo strike for sinking one of its navy ships in waters near a contested sea border with North Korea, Defense Minister Kim Tae-young said on Friday.
Initial speculation that North Korea might have sunk the 1,200 ton corvette Cheonan spooked Wall Street last Friday. Share prices dipped partly on geopolitical concerns of escalating conflict between the rival Koreas, and the won dropped against the dollar.
"We believe there is a likely possibility for the sinking to have been because of a torpedo, but we should look at all possibilities," Kim told a parliamentary committee.
Kim did not say if South Korea thought the torpedo may have been friendly fire or from North Korea, which is still technically at war with the South and has repeatedly threatened to attack ships in the area.
Shortly after the incident, South Korean officials all but ruled out blaming the North.
Kim has previously said the ship may have struck one of the several thousand mines deployed during the 1950-53 Korean War.
The two Koreas have fought two deadly naval battles in the past decade in the disputed Yellow Sea waters off the west coast.

South Korean navy ship sinks, North link played down
Sounds a little Fishy , how else would an "Unidentified object" Make a hole in the side of a ship ?
No conspiracy theory here , Move along and go eat your fruity pebbles !
(Reuters) - A South Korean naval ship sank near the disputed maritime border with North Korea, killing some of the more than 100 crew on board, but officials played down suggestions that it may have been attacked by the North.
A defense ministry official later said that the unidentified object the vessel had fired at on Friday night near the western sea border that divides the two Koreas may well have been a flock of birds.
Initial fears that North Korea might be to blame caused ripples on Wall Street, where share prices dipped partly on geopolitical concerns, and the South Korean won dropped against the dollar.
"It is premature to discuss the cause of this sinking," presidential Blue House spokeswoman Kim Eun-hye told Reuters early on Saturday. "It is not clear whether North Korea was involved."
The Joint Chiefs of Staff also said it could not conclude that the reclusive North was behind the attack.
Yonhap news agency quoted a presidential official as saying satellite pictures and other information showed no sign of the North Korean military in the area at the time of the sinking.
The defense ministry said 58 of the 104 on board had been rescued and Yonhap quoted navy officials as saying several had died.
"An unidentified reason caused a hole in the ship, which led to its sinking. Currently 58 have been rescued out of the total 104 on board. Rescue efforts are under way," the ministry said.
"The ship fired a warning shot at an unidentified object, and the object was later suspected to have been a flock of birds. But we are checking."
Earlier, South Korean media had quoted officials as saying the North could have torpedoed the ship.

Man pleads guilty selling counterfeit chips to Navy
A California man, Neil Felahy, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and counterfeit-goods trafficking. He faces up to Mr. Felahy sold counterfeit computer chips to the Naval Sea Systems Command. The counterfeit chips were purchased from China.
Purchasing counterfeit computer chips from China may have some serious consequences.
From IT World
In a plea agreement reached on Friday, Neil Felahy of Newport Coast, California, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and counterfeit-goods trafficking for his role in an alleged chip-counterfeiting scam that ran between 2007 and 2009. Felahy, his wife Marwah Felahy, and her brother Mustafa Abdul Aljaff operated several microchip brokerage companies that imported chips from Shenzhen, in China's Guangdong province.
They would buy counterfeit chips from China or else take legitimate chips, sand off the brand markings and melt the plastic casings with acid to make them appear to be of higher quality or a different brand, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a press release.[...]
The counterfeit chips were allegedly sold to Naval Sea Systems Command, the Washington, D.C., group responsible for maintaining the U.S. Navy's ships and systems, as well as an unnamed vacuum-cleaner manufacturer in the Midwest. The U.S. Department of Defense did not respond to requests for comment about the incident.[...]
The next year, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) broke up a distribution network for counterfeit Cisco Systems routers, seizing $3.5 million worth of components. According to a leaked FBI presentation on its Cisco Raider operation, fake Cisco routers, switches and cards were sold to the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration, and even the FBI itself.

This is so effed up. Navy Seals face charges for capture of Fallujah ambush mastermind.
<--- The man responsible for this nightmare got a bloody lip and now the brave men that captured him are all facing court martial. This is wrong on so many levels.
From Fox News:
Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And for their trouble, three of the SEALs, members of the Navy's elite commando unit, are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.
The three have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral's mast — and requested a trial by court-martial.
Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.
Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.
Matthew McCabe, a Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class (SO-2), is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault.
Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.
Petty Officer Julio Huertas, SO-1, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation.
The three SEALs will be arraigned separately on Dec. 7. Another three SEALs — two officers and an enlisted sailor — have been identified by investigators as witnesses but have not been charged.
Instead of bringing them up on charges they should be giving them all a medal. This is just insane. (For my part, I'd like to buy them all a beer.)

Ft. Hood Jihadi: Pentagon picks Affirmative Action toadies to head investigation
Don't expect much from this group, possums. Looks like the ix-fay is in.
From the Telegraph:
"The investigation is to be led by two retired senior officials, both Bill Clinton appointees, who made pushing “affirmative action” and special status for minority groups in the US military a central part of their careers. With former Army Secretary Togo West and former Navy Chief of Operations Admiral Vernon Clark at the helm of this investigation, no one should expect any critical comment about the policies that allowed the career of an extremist Muslim to flourish in the US military.
...
Togo West never saw an affirmative action policy or minority preference policy he didn’t like. For decades the US military has been subject to yearly political indoctrination in the form of special training to prevent the “harassment” of minorities. Mostly, this means that soldiers are subjected to training teams that present courses describing how deeply racist US white people. Any joke, look, friendly comment, or official action made by a white person to a protected minority group member can and should be treated as a racist action that merits official complaint.

Korean navies exchange fire in disputed waters
Wow , The Norks tucked their tails and ran when tested by the South Korean navy !
This is more of North Korea testing their limits of who and how much they can Push ,with a damaged ship , maybe they found out that they are not so tough that No one will fight back with them !
Seoul, South Korea (CNN) -- North and South Korean naval forces exchanged fire on Tuesday in disputed waters, a South Korean defense official said.
The two Koreas clashed off their west coast, the first such incident in seven years, each blaming the other for the incident.
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak convened an emergency security meeting and urged the military to to ensure that the naval clash did not escalate into something greater, Yonhap reported.
South Korea issued three verbal warnings to ship from the Communist north once the vessel had crossed a demarcation line late Tuesday morning, said Rear Adm. Lee Ki Sik of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The South Koreans then fired a warning shot but when the North Korean vessel continued southward, the South Koreans opened fire.
The North Koreans returned fire before heading back, their ship damaged in the exchange, Lee said. There were no South Korean casualties, Lee said.

Suspected North Korea arms ship changes course
Funny stuff , it makes you wonder why they are turning back ? Maybe they Figure they will not be able to unload their shipment of Illegal arms without being busted ? maybe they are just trying to draw attention away from something else ?
Either way I'm sure it is America's fault , and we are trying to start a nuclear war with the Norks !
....
SEOUL (Reuters) - A North Korean ship tracked by the U.S. Navy on suspicion of carrying a banned arms cargo may be returning home, a U.S. official said, as Washington cracks down on companies helping Pyongyang export missile systems.
North Korea will find it increasingly difficult to trade arms due to U.S. moves and U.N. sanctions to punish it for a May nuclear test, but those measure will not end the weapons exports the destitute state relies on for foreign currency, experts said.
"Of course, it raises the costs of doing the arms and weapons of mass destruction business, but it won't stop them from trying to circumvent the sanctions," said Daniel Pinkston with the International Crisis Group in Seoul.
The North Korean cargo ship Kang Nam was the first to be monitored by the U.S. Navy under a new system to track the North's arms shipments that were a part of the U.N. sanctions.
A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Tuesday the Kang Nam was heading back in the direction of North Korea after turning around within the last few days.
"We've no idea where it's going," the official said. "The U.S. didn't do anything to make it turn around."

US & Chinese ships clash in Yellow Sea...again
The Chinese have been aggressively upgrading their military capabilities in the past 15 years, especially their Navy and Air Force. Just yesterday Admiral Michael Mullen said that China's buildup is targeted at US forces in the region.
The Chinese are more confident in their Navy and are testing the US at the same time. We will see more confrontations like this in the future. Times Online
China demonstrated its growing naval confidence again in the latest standoff between American and Chinese ships.[...]
The USNS Victorious, an ocean surveillance ship designed for anti-submarine warfare and underwater mapping, was conducting what the Pentagon called routine operations in the waters between China and the Korean peninsula. The Chinese vessels came within 100ft (30 metres) of the vessel.
The Pentagon, which accused five Chinese fishing vessels of harassing another US surveillance ship in the South China Sea near Hainan island in March, cited the incident as an example of unsafe Chinese seamanship.
The Chinese vessels did not withdraw until after the Victorious had sounded an alarm and a Chinese military ship, identified by the Pentagon as WAGOR 17, arrived in response to the call for assistance. It shone a light on the fishing vessels until they left.
The Pentagon earlier played down the confrontation, striking a more low-key tone than during the incident two months ago.
