Aerospace commander of Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Amir Ali Hajizadeh, said Tuesday that Iran's missiles have the range of 2,000 km and can reach U.S. bases in the region and also Israel, said the semi-official Mehr news agency.
Iran does not need to increase the range of its missiles since Israel is just 1,200 km away from Iran and the U.S. bases are even nearer,

The missiles fired included Zelzal, Shahab-1, Shahab-2 and Shahab-3 on the second day of the Great Prophet-6 military drills, the report said.
Five Shahab missiles, including four medium-range and one long- range, as well as nine Zelzal missiles were launched near the central city of Qom.
The Islamic Republic began the Great Prophet-6 drills on Monday, and on the first day of the exercises, Iran unveiled underground missile silos and fired Fateh-110 missile, said the report.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday that the more powerful an independent country is to defend itself, the more helpful it would be for the security, peace and stability of the region.
In his weekly press briefing, Mehmanparast said that if the regional countries were powerful enough to defend themselves, the Zionist regime of Israel would never dare to attack and occupy their territory.

The US Navy intercepted a North Korean ship suspected of carrying missiles to Burma, forcing it to return to the rogue nuclear state, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported Monday.
The vessel, The Light, was Sunday reported to have returned to North Korea after drifting in international waters.
Gary Samore, the special assistant to President Barack Obama for arms control and weapons of mass destruction, said the US suspected that the vessel was heading to Burma to deliver military equipment such as small arms and missile-related items, according to the report.

The phenomenon recorded Monday evening by a TV news helicopter created a media sensation and a vapor trail of commentary across the Internet about the possibility of a secret missile firing. But the military insisted it knew of no rockets launched in the area.
Defense Department spokesman Col. Dave Lapan said Wednesday that officials were satisfied it was an airplane contrail distorted by camera

I personally witnessed Patriot Missile Launches(From a distance)along with several other Missiles that are tested on their Firing ranges !
This was nothing but a Missile, Jet's do not leave a Contrail, and they don't make Vertical Takeoffs.

China is developing an unprecedented new missile that is designed to be launched from land with enough accuracy to penetrate the defenses of even the most advanced moving aircraft carrier from a distance of more than 900 miles, sources say.
Initial reports on the new missile suggest it could reshape conflicts at sea, but U.S. weapons experts told FoxNews.com that it's no game-changer, nor a revolutionary threat to America's aircraft carriers -- which are the center of U.S. Pacific defense strategy.
"Some have called it a game-changer. I would dispute that claim," said Toshi Yoshihara, an associate professor at the U.S. Naval War College.

The launch of what was described as a Kavoshgar-3 missile, capable of carrying satellites, came at a juncture of other events showing the Tehran regime facing a series of challenges.

A second Kavoshgar was launched in November 2008, Press TV said. The model launched on Wednesday was described as an updated version of the earlier rockets.
The Iranian Aerospace Organization said: “Live video transmission and the mini-environmental lab will enable further studies on the biological capsule — carrying a rat, two turtles and worms — as it leaves Earth’s atmosphere and enters space,” Press TV said.

North Korea may be readying missile test: report

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea has declared a no-sail zone off its west coast, indicating it may be readying to test-launch missiles in the area, South Korean news broadcaster YTN on Tuesday quoted a military official as saying.
The area is near a contested sea border with the South that was the site of a brief naval clash in November between the states, technically still at war, that left a South Korean ship pockmarked with bullet holes and a North Korean vessel limping back to port in flames.
About a month before that clash, North Korea rattled regional security by firing short-range missiles off its east coast.
"We are closely monitoring the area to inspect whether this announcement was made as a part of their winter training or to launch short-range missiles," the unnamed official told YTN.
South Korean military officials said they were checking on the YTN report.
Destitute North Korea in recent weeks has signaled that it is ready to reduce the security threat it poses to economically vital North Asia by saying it could end its year-long boycott of international nuclear disarmament talks

Venezuela acquires 1000s of Russian missiles
"They are preparing a war against us," Chavez recently said during a television appearance referring to Columbia.
Venezuela is also to receive Russian T-72 tanks. Since 2005 Chavez has purchased over $4 billion worth of arms from the Russians which include fighter jets, attack helicopter and tons and tons of AK 47s.

Russia violating START treaty by developing multiple warhead missle
Russia has been developing a multiple warhead missile, RS-24 ICBM, (known as SS-27 missiles to the Pentagon) capable of carrying up to 10 warheads, which is in violation of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty according to Sen. Jon Kyl, Arizona.
The first missiles will be deployed by December of this year and by 2016 will account for no less than 80% of Russia's Strategic Missile Forces.
Perhaps the Russians will stop the development of the new missiles after all the concessions President Obama made to them.

BEIJING, Oct 13 (Reuters) - North Korea's missile launches will not damage a recent thaw in its international relations, China's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, following reports that the North was preparing to fire more short-range missiles.
"We have noted the relevant reports and noted that North Korea has launched short-range missiles," spokesman Ma Zhaoxu told a regular news conference.
"I believe that this won't affect the trend towards easing on the Korean peninsula."
The missile launches on Monday, the first in about three months, come as Pyongyang said it was ready to return to international talks on ending its nuclear arms programme, though it has insisted on holding negotiations first with the United States.

BEIJING (Reuters) - When the National Day parade rolls down Beijing's streets next week, foreign observers will look beyond the goose-stepping soldiers for signs that China is developing a new missile able to threaten U.S. aircraft carriers.
If China is able to mount systems that support an anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM), it could force the U.S. carrier fleet to keep a greater distance, American defense analysts said, changing U.S. strategy for defending Taiwan should war break out.
On October 1, all eyes will be on the Avenue of Eternal Peace to see if China displays a Dongfeng 21-D missile, with maneuverable fins to help it find a moving target at sea, as well as a more finalized launch vehicle.
"The ASBM is far from operational, but it is close enough to make a splash," said Eric McVadon, a retired rear admiral whose 35-year naval career included a defense attache post in Beijing.
"It is something big. It represents the ability to make the U.S. think twice before sending carrier strike groups into the Western Pacific."
China is using the parade, which involves hundreds of thousands of marchers, to celebrate its modernization and the spectacular economic growth of three decades of reform.

BEIJING — China will unveil a range of previously unknown missiles during its October 1 National Day parade, including intercontinental ballistic nuclear missiles, state media said Wednesday.Yeah ok, most likely the designs were stolen from the US.
The new hardware on display also will include conventional cruise missiles and both short- and medium-range missiles, the Global Times newspaper reported, citing an unnamed People's Liberation Army source.
"These missiles are domestically designed and manufactured and have never been officially reported before," the source, who is with the PLA's strategic missile defence unit, was quoted as saying.

The officials, who are privy to information about North Korean launch preparations, said there are no signs of the work necessary to launch a long-range missile during the U.S. July 4 Independence Day celebration. SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea has several thousand tonnes of chemical weapons it can mount on missiles that could be used on a rapid strike against the South, said a report released on Thursday by the International Crisis Group (ICG)
The report from the prestigious non-governmental organization said the consensus view is the North's army possess about 2,500-5,000 tonnes of chemical weapons that include mustard gas, sarin and other deadly nerve agents.
"If there is an escalation of conflict and if military hostilities break out, there is a risk that they could be used. In conventional terms, North Korea is weak and they feel they might have to resort to using those," said Daniel Pinkston, the ICG's representative on Seoul.
"The stockpile does not appear to be increasing but is already sufficient to inflict massive civilian casualties on South Korea," the ICG report said.
The report said North Korea has also worked on a biological weapons program but Pinkston does not think Pyongyang has fully developed that weapons program.
In a separate report released simultaneously, the ICG said North Korea has deployed more than 600 Scud-type missiles that can hit all of South Korea and as many as 320 Rodong missiles that can strike Japan.
The ICG said earlier this year intelligence it acquired indicates the North has developed a nuclear warhead it could mount on an Rodong missile, and this latest report repeats the claim.

SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korea has outlined a plan to counter a possible missile attack by North Korea, including airstrikes on a missile base, Seoul's Yonhap News reported on Sunday citing military sources.
A scenario by the South's Joint Chiefs of Staff submitted to President Lee Myung-bak on Saturday included a plan to counter-attack in case North Korea fires a missile targeting the South's battleships in the contested waters off the west coast, Yonhap said.
The response under the contingency plan would be joint attacks from surface, air and sea against the North's missile base, it said.
In late May, South Korea and the United States raised the military alert level for the peninsula after the communist North ramped up tensions by war threats, missile launches and a nuclear test.
The South's navy earlier in June also deployed a guided-missile vessel near the sea border off the west coast. The Yellow Sea has been the site of two deadly clashes between the two rival Koreas in the past 10 years.
South Korean president Lee said on Saturday that his government would not back down to the North's threats, saying the South has a strong defense.
