Road trip !
Once again I'm going on a little road trip , it's an Anniversary thing (21 years of Marriage), this is the first time since 9/11 we have gone anywhere for our Anniversary . So a little time seeing the Country ( More like parts of Michigan we have never been to before ) Is in High order (So says the Wife ).

Time off ?
No I'm not leaving again (Yet)
While Kyros is MIA I have been doing my best to keep up .
Even while suffering from a Serious case of flu/bronchitis/pneumonia/ or something I should have been hospitalized for AGAIN !
And my better half came to town , nursed me back to health , all while seeing some of the most awesome sites of the country ! 
Pictures Just don't do things justice sometimes !
44 miles of winding road to get to the Middle of the Gila national Forrest , no noise , only a couple of people ( Rangers ) and NO CELL PHONES ! absolutely beautiful .
All to see this , The Gila national Cliff Dwellings in New Mexico ! 
These dwellings were constructed by Mogollon Indians ( Not Mongolian ) Some 700 years ago !

I would have had better pics , But due to a Mishap ( dropping Digital Camera into very fine sand like a dumbass ) picture taking was finished for the trip !

More Road Trip !
To further verify my geekiness , A trip to the VLA , The National Radio Astronomy Observatory ,VERY LARGE ARRAY .
27 , 25 meter radio dishes Aligned in a "y" configuration , Gives this array the resolution Rivaled only by the Hubble .
While I was here they were monitoring the Cassini Spacecraft orbiting Around Saturn , And was lucky enough to watch the Data coming into the Control room , on 5 different monitors , Very awesome .

The Geek Trip !
560 miles , about 13 hours altogether ( Yes , I may have broken the speed limit once or twice ) Make up one hell of a Road trip !
The Trinity site , which is only open twice a year , is one of the most ominous places I have ever seen !
To stand dead center of what is left of the crater for the first ever nuclear detonation is a little chilling , And still slightly Radioactive ! 
....
Yeah , pretty Boring , You have to go there to appreciate the vastness of the area !
The Monument in the middle , is actual Ground Zero
Road Trip !
At 7:50 in the morning I am sitting at the entrance to the Trinity site , Ground Zero for the first ever nuclear detonation !I drove about 200 miles to get here , This is my second "Geek" trip here , after this I'm off to the VLA radio telescope ! Another awesome geeky place !
their will be some pictures up later today or tomorrow !
