"Where the hell is Secretary Napolitano?"

From CNS News:

"Top Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee publicly scolded Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for failing to show up at a Wednesday hearing where the committee examined the attempted Christmas Day suicide bombing of Northwest Flight 253. One Democrat on the committee said he wanted to know “where the hell” Napolitano was.

That evening, Napolitiano did prominently show up at the Capitol to attend President Barack Obama's State of the Union address. But earlier in the day, she dispatched Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Jane Holl Lute to testify on her behalf in the Homeland Security Committee on what went wrong in the homeland-security process that allowed would-be suicide-bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to board a plane bound from Amsterdam to the Detroit.

The committee has primary oversight over Napolitano’s department ..."

Still a little distracted today; so was the Ft. Hood Jihadi - about his HIV test.

Hasan was worried about results of recent HIV testing. Must have been all that lap dancing.

Major Nidal Hasan seemed worried about the results of an HIV blood test taken a week before the Fort Hood Shooting rampage, according to federal investigators piecing together background details on Hasan's life.

The information came from a member of the Fort Hood medical staff who was in the building where Hasan is accused of opening fire on November 5 and killing 13 people.

Speaking of lap dancing and the Ft. Hood Jihadi: I spent my morning listening to and freeping Senator Joe Lieberman's Hearing on the Ft. Hood Terror Massacre. FYI- only half of the senators on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee managed to make the hearing. You can view the hearing in its entirety here.

And I have a prime example of that political theatre that Pres Obama was worried about when Senator Carl Levin brought up Rev Pat Robertson's statement on Islam. The senators and expert witnesses then proceeded to put Rev Robertson on trial with a vigor and venom they did not display against Hasan that's for sure. It was unbelievable.

House Republicans Ask for Inquiry Into Whether Muslim Group CAIR Is 'Security Threat'

Here we go ! CAIR will counter with Media Blitz Smear Campaign And probably a lawsuit , And drag this out for a long ,long time .
I just wonder when someone in our Government will grow a pair and "Openly" Speak out against Cair , And not Back down !
This may be a start but who knows , It is only 4 Republicans , And Not one Democrat

....Foxnews
Four House Republicans formally requested an investigation into the Council on American Islamic Relations this week after charging that the nation's largest Muslim advocacy group tried to "infiltrate" Capitol Hill with interns.

The lawmakers based most of their claims on an internal memo and the book "Muslim Mafia," which describes CAIR's purported strategy to influence members of Congress on the Judiciary, Intelligence and Homeland Security Committees. They raised concerns about CAIR in large part because the Justice Department named the group as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism case.

In a letter to Sergeant-At-Arms Wilson Livingood, the lawmakers urged him to review the group's alleged ties to Hamas and "determine if CAIR is a security threat." They also asked that he determine whether the group was successful in placing interns on key House panels.

"If you find that CAIR is a security threat, we ask that you take the appropriate security measures," they wrote.

The Intelligence Committee does not accept interns, and the Homeland Security and Judiciary Committees select candidates on a case-by-case basis with no preferential treatment given to any group, congressional aides told Foxnews.com.

The Homeland Security Committee, which was made permanent only four years ago, has not had any interns sponsored by CAIR in at least three years, an aide to the panel said, adding that he could not confirm whether a CAIR intern had ever assisted the panel. It's also not clear whether any candidates sponsored by CAIR applied during that period, the aide said.

The Judiciary Committee has not had any CAIR interns since May, an aide said.

Reps. Sue Myrick of North Carolina, Trent Franks of Arizona, Paul Broun of Georgia and John Shadegg of Arizona raised serious concerns about the group and wrote to Attorney General Eric Holder urging him to provide Congress with a summary of why the group was named as a co-conspirator.

But other lawmakers have rushed to the organization's defense. A CAIR spokesman accused the Republican representatives of being "Muslim bashers" by trying to exclude Muslims from the political process.

And who exactly are these other Lawmakers ?

$2.6 billion for US troops diverted to pet projects

This is treasonous. What more can I say? Washington Times

Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.

Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.

While earmarks are hardly new in Washington, "in 30 years on Capitol Hill, I never saw Congress mangle the defense budget as badly as this year," said Winslow Wheeler, a former Senate staffer who worked on defense funding and oversight for both Republicans and Democrats. He is now a senior fellow at the Center for Defense Information, an independent research organization.

GOP Lawmakers Accuse Muslim Advocacy Group CAIR of Planting Spies on Capitol Hill

WTF ? This would not surprise me , Cair is Such a front to terrorism , And a very political one at that !
But why is it only GOP leaders that are speaking up about this ?

....Foxnews
Four House Republicans on Wednesday accused the nation's largest Muslim advocacy group of trying to "infiltrate" Capitol Hill by placing interns in the offices of lawmakers who handle national security issues.

The four lawmakers, members of the anti-terror caucus, asked for an investigation into the Council on American Islamic Relations after discovering an internal memo noting the group's strategy. They also highlighted a new book by Paul Sperry titled "Muslim Mafia," scheduled for release on Thursday, which claims the group has been actively infiltrating Congress.

Reps. Sue Myrick of North Carolina, Trent Franks of Arizona, Paul Broun of Georgia and John Shadegg of Arizona asked the Internal Revenue Service to determine whether CAIR deserves its nonprofit status. They also are asking their colleagues to review a summary of findings that led the Justice Department to name CAIR as a co-conspirator in a terrorism case.

The internal memo, provided to FOXNews.com, stated that CAIR would "focus on influencing congressmen responsible for policy that directly impacts the American Muslim community."

The memo cited three House committees -- Homeland Security, Intelligence and the Judiciary -- as panels on which lawmakers preside over policy affecting American Muslims.

"We will develop national initiatives such as a lobby day and placing Muslim interns in Congressional offices," the memo read.

Earlier this year the FBI severed its once-close ties with CAIR as evidence mounted of the group's links to a support network for Hamas, which the U.S. has designated a terrorist organization.

"It's frightening to think that an organization with clear-cut ties to terrorism could have a hand in influencing policy -- especially national security policy -- within our government," Myrick said. "The investigations that we're asking for are simple, and I'm hopeful that they will bring to light any and all information regarding the goals of CAIR."

Franks called on CAIR to renounce its ties to terrorist groups and state publicly that it does not support Hamas or the Muslim Brotherhood.

Yeah , Like that will ever Happen !

Senate Health Bill Imposes $29B More in Taxes

The Finance Committee's top Republican, Chuck Grassley of Iowa, said in a statement: "These taxes will increase insurance premiums and health care costs for individuals and families."

At the same time, they also could mean more revenue to help pay for expanding coverage to the uninsured.

This is one of the biggest problems with the healthcare reform that is about to be forced down our throats !
Not only will the people that do work and support their Families , be slammed with higher taxes and insurance premiums , but our taxes will go to provide insurance coverage for those people who do not work and support their families !

Foxnews
On the tax issue, the Joint Committee on Taxation said in a memo prepared for Finance Committee Republicans that drug companies, medical device manufacturers and insurers would pay $121 billion over 10 years as a result of fees in the committee's bill. That compares with $92 billion originally calculated.

The tax experts said the reason for the change was that the companies wouldn't be able to deduct the fees.

The Finance Committee's top Republican, Chuck Grassley of Iowa, said in a statement: "These taxes will increase insurance premiums and health care costs for individuals and families."

At the same time, they also could mean more revenue to help pay for expanding coverage to the uninsured.

The industry fees are separate from a proposed new tax on high-value insurance plans that's also in the Finance Committee bill.

The committee, the last one in Congress yet to act on sweeping health care legislation, had planned a final vote for this week but has been waiting for a more complete set of calculations from the Congressional Budget Office.

Tuesday's tax report didn't shed light on the total cost of the bill, which stood at under $900 billion over 10 years going into a two-week drafting session that ended this past Friday. Dozens of amendments were added during the session, some making substantial changes, so senators want to see where that leaves the price tag of the bill before they go to a final vote.

That figure could be available as early as Wednesday, according to Finance Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont. Baucus has a 13-10 Democratic majority on the panel so the outcome is hardly in question, though the margin may be.

" What about people like me who have a decent job but still can not "Afford" Healthcare for my Family ? I guess I still get screwed , as long as some dead beat reject gets healthcare for free , I guess it will be O.K. !?!?!?"

thanks again Washington !

House plans to admonish Rep. Wilson over outburst

Don't ever try to speak your Mind when Dumocrats are around Even if it is the truth !I seem to remember a lot of Heckling and name calling directed towards George W Bush When he gave his speech's to congress ,How about Hillary clinton Rolling her Eyes in Disgust every time the Camera was on her ?
But when the Dumocrats have it done to them look out , they will try and bowl you over to get their way ! Rep. Joe Wilson ... You Da MAN !

AP
WASHINGTON — Democratic leaders are planning a House vote early next week to admonish Republican Rep. Joe Wilson if he does not apologize on the House floor for yelling "You lie!" during President Barack Obama's health care address to Congress.

National attention from the heckling episode has money pouring into Wilson's campaign treasury and that of his 2010 Democratic challenger. Wilson had raised more than $700,000 since the incident as of Friday, according to the National Republican Congressional Committee. His opponent, Rob Miller, had received more than $875,000, according to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Democratic leaders initially showed mixed interest in punishing Wilson. But they decided at a meeting late Thursday that they probably will propose a resolution of disapproval early next week if he doesn't apologize to Congress, said Brendan Daly, a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

While not a formal censure or reprimand, the resolution, if passed as expected, would put Congress on record as condemning Wilson's conduct.

Wilson, who was criticized by Republicans and Democrats for his outburst, told Obama he was sorry shortly after the incident Wednesday night. But he has refused requests from both parties to apologize on the House floor. Wilson's office says the congressman considers his initial apology sufficient.

Move in US to get Pakistan aid stopped

Its about frigging time.

Ever since I launched this blog I've been asking why has Pakistan received so much money in aid. Eleven billion dollars in aid has been given to Pakistan since 2002. There are countless examples of Pakistan turning a blind eye, assisting, helping, training and arming terrorists, who are actively fighting us. The worst part is that there has been little or no outrage from our political leaders regarding this situation.

With the recent Mumbai attacks and information coming out that the attacks were planned, the terrorists trained and attacks coordinated from Pakistan there seems to be a little momentum to stop giving Pakistan aid money. A few US congressmen have publicly called for stopping US aid to Pakistan. These congressmen include Frank Pallone, Robert Menedez andGary Ackerman. Dawn

WASHINGTON, Dec 16: US politicians with close links to India have quietly launched a campaign to persuade the incoming Obama administration to stop US aid to Pakistan.

“I do not believe in aiding countries that aid terrorism,” said US Senator Robert Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey.

Declaring Pakistan a “failed State” Congressman Frank Pallone, another Democrat, said he opposed giving billions of dollars in aid to Pakistan because he believed it would be used against India.

Gary Ackerman, a pro-Indian Democratic Congressman from New York who has long advocated stopping US military aid to Pakistan, urged Washington to review its policy towards Islamabad after the Mumbai attacks.

“The implication for us is that there are bad guys still out there, and we’re going to have to learn how to deal with them, because our friends are getting sucked into this big-time,” said Mr Ackerman, who chairs the House subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia.

Some of these lawmakers may move a resolution in the US Congress after the inauguration of the new president on Jan 20, strongly condemning Mumbai attacks and urging lawmakers to stop military assistance to Pakistan.

A $15 billion, 10-year aid package already proposes to attach US military assistance to Pakistan to its performance in the war against terror, authorising the US administration to stop the aid if it finds that Islamabad was not doing enough to fight terrorism.
