Transitional Leader Calls for Sharia Law

Awesome, now that Gadahfi is dead Libya will have another dictatorship/transitional style government while implementing Sharia Law.

Smart people, remove the evil dictator, insert Sharia; maybe they will try a new spin on the same old crap and elect a few dictators to co rule or something that way it is not just one person dealing out the B.S. to the people.

Foxnews
The transitional government leader Mustafa Abdul-Jalil called on Libyans to show "patience, honesty and tolerance" and eschew hatred as they embark on rebuilding the country at the end of an 8-month civil war.

Abdul-Jalil set out a vision for the post-Qaddafi future with an Islamist tint, saying that Islamic Sharia law would be the "basic source" of legislation in the country and that existing laws that contradict the teachings of Islam would be nullified.

In a gesture that showed his own piety, he urged Libyans not to express their joy by firing in the air, but rather to chant "Allahu Akbar," or God is Great. He then stepped aside and knelt to offer a brief prayer of thanks.

Taliban order strict phone blackout in Afghan north

"We went and appealed to the Taliban to have mercy on us but they said their fighters were more important,"

Nice guys, they don't care about the people they say they are taking care of.
The Taliban fighters are more important!

DoucheBags.

(Reuters) - The Taliban have ordered harsh limits on the use of mobile phones in a remote area of northwestern Afghanistan, residents and officials said, a sign of the militants' increasing influence in a once peaceful area.

The Islamist group's order in Bala Morghab, a remote district of Badghis province bordering Turkmenistan, follows similar edicts in recent years in the south and east, where the insurgency is strongest, but also more recently in the north.

Residents said the Taliban had ordered mobile phone operators to only turn their networks on for two hours per day, at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., in the most draconian restrictions imposed by the militants on mobile phone use anywhere in the country.

Insurgents say Afghan and foreign troops use the mobile networks to track their fighters and accuse ordinary Afghans of using the devices to spy on the militants.

Oklahoma's Ban on Shariah Law Blocked

Opponents argued that the measure was unnecessary because state judges have no reason to rely on Islamic law. Most of the state’s newspapers opposed the measure.

Hmmm, Well Muslims would not let a non Muslim, Unversed in Sharia Law, sit as a judge in A sharia Case ! A sharia Law Court would be set up specifically for the Implementation of Sharia.
The problem would be then, that there would be two different court systems within the U.S. One for regular people and the other for Muslims!

"Today's ruling is a reminder of the strength of our nation's legal system and the protections it grants to religious minorities," said Muneer Awad, executive director of Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Oklahoma, who filed the suit last Thursday, claiming the law violated his constitutional rights.

Constitutional Rights? Well Mr. aWAD , if you were ever to step foot in a courtroom within the United States, you would be given the same rights as everyone else.
the premise that your constitutional rights are being Violated are unfounded. We do not rule or judge under Sharia law, we rule and Judge under American Law!

If you do not like it get out of the U.S. ! Go to the Muslim Country of your Choice ! Be ruled under your Sharia Law there !

A popular new law that bars Oklahoma courts from considering Islamic law, or Shariah, when deciding cases was put on hold Monday after a prominent Muslim in the state won a temporary restraining order in federal court.

Two state legislators were quick to blast the judge's ruling and the Oklahoma attorney general, who they said did not stand up to support the new law.

U.S. District Court Judge Vicki Miles-LeGrange ruled that the measure, which passed by a large margin in last Tuesday's elections, would be suspended until a hearing on Nov. 22, when she will listen to arguments on whether the court's temporary injunction should become permanent.

"We are humbled by this opportunity to show our fellow Oklahomans that Muslims are their neighbors and that we are committed to upholding the U.S. Constitution and promoting the benefits of a pluralistic society," Awad said.

Iranian chocolate thief faces hand amputation

Iran the land of Savages.

BBC
An Iranian judge has sentenced a man convicted of robbing a confectionery shop to have one of his hands cut off, Iranian media report.

The judge also sentenced the man to one year in prison.

Police arrested the man in May after finding $900 (£560), three pairs of gloves and a large amount of chocolate in his car, Fars news agency said.

Under Iran's Islamic law, amputations are usually reserved for habitual thieves.

Last week, authorities cut off the hand of a man convicted of two robberies in the north-eastern city of Mashhad.

British islamic schools forcing girls to wear burqas

"It is absurd that schools are enforcing this outdated ritual – one that which sends out a damaging message that Muslims do not want to fully partake in British society.

These islamists are so inconsistent sometimes...'No, the burqa is not mandatory under islam'....but then why force women to wear it? Telegraph

Islamic schools have introduced uniform policies which force girls to wear the burka or a full headscarf and veil known as the niqab.

Moderate followers of Islam said yesterday that enforcement of the veil was a "dangerous precedent" and that children attending such schools were being "brainwashed". [...]

Dr Taj Hargey, an imam and chairman of the Muslim Educational Trust of Oxford, said: "This is very disturbing and sets a dangerous precedent.

"It means that Muslim children are being brainwashed into thinking they must segregate and separate themselves from mainstream society.

"The use of taxpayers' money for such institutions should be absolutely opposed. The wearing of the burka or niqab is a tribal custom and these garments are not even mentioned in the Koran."
Maybe not in the quran but what about the Hadith, the sayings and doings of muhammed?

British police arrest 6 for burning koran

WTF? It's now illegal to burn qurans in England? When the f**k did this happen? Telegraph

Officers detained two men on September 15 and four more yesterday and all six were bailed pending further inquiries, Northumbria Police said.

''The arrests followed the burning of what are believed to have been two Korans in Gateshead on September 11,'' the spokesman said. [...]

Northumbria Police said the men were not arrested for watching or distributing the video, but on suspicion of burning the Koran.
I wonder if the same police would arrest anyone for burning bibles or any other religious book for that matter.

Afghan clerics seek return to strict Islamic law

"This (gathering) was very new for the peace efforts and the biggest yet. They will go and preach for peace in their respective regions,"

In other words , they will go forward and tell the Taliban that they Comply with their Beliefs !

Afghanistan is truly in a Downward Spiral , We need to annihilate the Taliban and just move on , let them rebuild their shithole themselves !

(Reuters) - Afghanistan's largest gathering of clerics, who met to discuss reconciliation with the Taliban, has called for the revival of strict Islamic law as the country seeks ways to win militants away from a growing insurgency.

About 350 of the Islamic clerics, or ulema, met for three days this week, the meeting ending with a declaration calling on President Hamid Karzai to enact sharia, or Islamic law, including punishments such as stonings, lashing, amputation and execution.

"The lack of implementation of sharia hodud (punishment) has cast a negative impact on the peace process," said a 10-point resolution issued after the meeting.

"We the ulema and preachers of Afghanistan ... earnestly ask the government not to spare any efforts in the implementation of sharia hodud."

Steamy Texts Land Dubai Couple in Jail

Privacy is not Private anymore !
If you don't want to get busted for "Ilicit" Texting (Especially by your wife)
THEN DON"T DO IT !
In todays world there is a record for pretty much everything that you do , Texting ,cell phone conversations , e mail , Browsing online , EVERYTHING !
and people still do stupid shit everyday .
I don't agree with these people serving jail time , but in a country like Saudi Arabia , you should really watch what you are doing ! ( AS Painfull and wrong as it is ) They are watching you !

Foxnews
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- A string of steamy text messages has resulted in a jail sentence for an Indian couple, authorities announced Wednesday, in the latest case of passions clashing with the law in the cosmopolitan, yet occasionally conservative, Gulf city of Dubai.

The conviction said the sexual content of the texts suggested the unnamed pair planned to "commit sin" -- a reference to an extramarital affair, which is illegal in the United Arab Emirates.

The pair, who worked as cabin crew for Emirates airlines, each were sentenced to three months in jail, said authorities. Court documents only gave their initials and their ages: 42 for her and 47 for him.

The text messages surfaced in a divorce lawsuit by the woman's estranged husband.

A court in December sentenced the Indian couple to six months in jail followed by deportation, but an appeals court reduced the jail time and gave them the option to remain in the country.

It's not the first time that emotions have run afoul with authorities in Dubai, where the expatriate population exceeds the locals by more than 4-to-1. The city-state allows one of the most relaxed lifestyles in the Arab world, but officials can come down hard on those accused of pushing the limits of tolerance.

Earlier this week, a British couple said they will appeal a one-month jail sentence for exchanging a fiery kiss in a restaurant.

In 2008, two Britons were sentenced to three months in jail for what authorities described as sex on the beach. The sentences were later suspended.

Malaysia Says Muslim Women Caned

"I hope this will not be misunderstood, so that it defiles the sanctity of Islam," Mr. Hishammuddin said. "The punishment is to teach and give a chance to those who have fallen off the path to return and build a better life in the future."

Misunderstand the sanctity of Islam ?

I think we understand it quite well , Islam Defiles itself.

And all this , just to teach them a lesson .

The Wall Street Journal
Malaysian authorities said Wednesday that officials caned four Muslim men and, for the first time, three Muslim women this month after being found guilty of having sex out of wedlock.

The move to cane the women under the country's Islamic Shariah laws has raised fresh concerns about the growing political and judicial influence of Islam in what traditionally has been one of the world's more moderate Muslim nations.

The vibrant, resource-rich country came under intense international scrutiny last year after a Shariah court sentenced 32-year-old Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno to be caned after she was caught drinking beer in a hotel bar. Many moderate Muslims and non-Muslim Malaysians saw that verdict as reflecting the growing reach of Islam in Malaysia over the past several years, although Prime Minister Najib Razak has said he won't let Malaysia drift toward becoming an Islamist state.

The caning of Ms. Kartika, who is a Muslim, still hasn't been carried out despite her requests to the Islamic courts to get it over with.

Wednesday's announcement that three Muslim women were caned on Feb. 9 for having illicit sex thus came as a shock to many Malaysians. "This was a big a surprise. We had no idea this was going to happen," said Ragunath Kesavan, president of the Malaysian Bar Council. "We were always told Ms. Kartika would be the first."

Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein waited more than a week before announcing the punishment at a news conference following the government's weekly cabinet meeting Wednesday. He didn't provide details of the women's identities. Later in the day, Mr. Hishammuddin said in a statement that four men also were sentenced and caned in connection with the case. They also weren't identified.

All seven were found guilty of illicit sex and sentenced by a Shariah court in the Kuala Lumpur area between December and January.

"I hope this will not be misunderstood, so that it defiles the sanctity of Islam," Mr. Hishammuddin said. "The punishment is to teach and give a chance to those who have fallen off the path to return and build a better life in the future."

Two of the women and the four men were each struck six times, while the other woman was struck four times.

Saudis shut down women's gym because it's against islam or something

The headline is pretty self explanatory.
AFP

RIYADH — Health authorities in Jeddah have shut down an "illegal" women's fitness centre attached to a hospital, closing one of the few venues where Saudi women are able to exercise, local media said on Wednesday.[...]

"Anyone who violates regulations governing the running of health facilities would be punished severely because this involves people's health," Jeddah health official Muhammed Abdul Jawad told the English-language Arab News.[...]

While gyms for men in the gender-segregated conservative Islamic society are permitted, women's health clubs are forbidden, despite a clear demand shown by a surge in underground facilities in the past two years.

Indonesian shariah police accused of gang rape

Moral hypocrisy. LA Times

Three members of a civilian patrol that enforces Islam's strict Sharia law in Indonesia's Aceh province have been accused of gang-raping a 20-year-old university student, authorities there said.

The attack allegedly occurred this month at a small-town police station after the patrol members, known here as the Sharia police, took the woman into custody. Two men, ages 27 and 29, were arrested and one is still being sought, authorities said.

Activists say the accusation seriously undermines the credibility of the controversial Sharia police patrols.

"They don't have the authority to detain people -- their role is to give moral advice, that's it," said Norma Manalu, director of Aceh's human rights coalition. "They misused their power." Aceh's "vice and virtue patrol" enforces religious codes across the only province in the nation to employ Sharia, or Islamic law, for its criminal code. Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim country.

Indonesia: Slaves to fashion - sharia style

Indonesian slaves to fashion Cover up or be caned, ladies! Demand and prices for "conforming Muslim clothes" is skyrocketing. ---->

From the Jakarta Globe (h/t Jeffrey Imm at R.E.A.L.)

In Pasar Rakyat, a market in Meulaboh in Indonesia's West Aceh, a young woman busily browses through a rack of skirts. She is wearing a loose, long skirt, a tight, long-sleeved T-shirt and a jilbab that comes up to her chest. She analyzes the material of the skirts, touching them to feel the texture.

I have to replace my clothes with skirts and Muslim outfits [that are long-sleeved and loose],” 20-year-old Rahma said last Tuesday. “I don’t want to be arrested by the Wilayatul Hisbah [Shariah police] when they really implement the new law.”

The district of West Aceh will begin enforcing a new regulation in January that will strictly forbid Muslims, especially women, to wear tight clothes. M Nur Juned, head of West Aceh district’s Shariah division, said in a telephone interview with the Jakarta Globe on Thursday that authorities would regulate the clothes that people were allowed to wear.

Wales to get first Sharia court?

They will if the camel with its nose under the tent MUSLIM ARBITRATION TRIBUNAL has its way!

From the al-Beeb:

Wales could get its first court based on Islamic law under proposals from a Muslim body, BBC Wales has learned. A Sharia law tribunal in Cardiff will help community relations and give some Muslims services they want, supporters have told the Dragon's Eye programme.

But the Ministry of Justice said that Sharia law "has no jurisdiction in England and Wales". A spokesperson said: "Regardless of religious belief we are all equal before the law".

Some commentators, such as the think-tank Civitas, say a Muslim arbitration tribunal undermines the concept of one law for UK citizens. A women's group said it was not needed and women may not be treated fairly.

A tribunal has been proposed for the middle of next year, and its backers say it will bring the law and Muslim faith together. There are already seven such tribunals in England when two parties facing marital, financial and other disputes come before experts in Islamic and UK law.

Bukari Volume 6, Book 60, Number 79:

BBC

A 20-year-old woman divorcee accused of committing adultery in Somalia has been stoned to death by Islamists in front of a crowd of about 200 people.

Al Shabaab whipped women for not wearing...socks

First al Shabaab groped women to make sure they weren't wearing bras. Now they're whipping women for not wearing socks. What's the next article of clothing they'll be checking, panties?
CNN

(CNN) -- Militants who control parts of Somalia's capital city are beating women in broad daylight for violating their radical brand of Islamic law, according to local officials and witnesses in Mogadishu.

"Just today, Al-Shabaab dispatched men with whips to the streets around Bakara market and they are flogging any woman who is found not wearing socks," according to a female maize trader at the Mogadishu market, who spoke Thursday.[...]

In the past two days, more than 130 people, including women who were not wearing headscarves and men chewing dried khat leaves, have been detained for violating Al-Shabaab's interpretation of sharia, or Islamic law, according to witnesses and officials.
Not to mention al Shabaab killed a Christian woman for not wearing a veil.

Malaysia confiscates 15,000 bibles

Malaysian authorities have confiscated approximately 15,000 bibles imported from Indonesia because the bibles refer to God as allah.

This isn't the first incident of this kind in Malaysia. Last year, Malaysian authorities threatened to shut down a Christian newspaper for using "allah" to describe GodDawn

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia: Malaysian authorities confiscated more than 15,000 Bibles imported from Indonesia in recent months because they referred to ‘God’ as ‘Allah', a translation that has been banned in this Muslim-majority country, Church officials said Thursday.

The alleged seizure is certain to reignite complaints by religious minorities that their right to practice their faiths freely has come under threat as the government panders to the Muslim majority.

A growing sense of discrimination among the minorities is chipping away at Malaysia's reputation as a harmonious multiethnic nation that practices a moderate brand of Islam.

A female journalist has been sentenced to 60 lashes in Saudi Arabia after being charged with involvement in a TV show in which a Saudi man talked about his sexual exploits.[...]

Miss al-Yami, who worked as a coordinator for the programme but has denied working on the episode in question, said she believed the judge at the court in Jiddah dropped the charges against her, but said he had still handed down the lashing sentence "as a deterence."
