(Reuters) - Iran showed off an improved domestically made missile on Wednesday, the latest in a string of announcements about new military hardware it hopes will dissuade enemies from attacking.
The United States and Israel both say they do not rule out bombing Iran to prevent it getting nuclear weapons. Tehran, which started fuelling its first nuclear power station on Saturday, says its atomic programme is peaceful.
State television showed a test-firing of the nine-meter-long (30-ft) missile it said was a new version of the Fateh-110 weapon with an improved range of 250 km and better precision than previous models.
In recent days Iran has also publicized new mini-submarines, armed speed boats and a prototype long-range bomber drone. Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said neighboring countries had nothing to fear from Tehran's improved defenses.

Female fan's kiss ends music concert in Kuwait
Kuwaiti authorities shut down a concert after a female fan had jumped on stage and kissed the singer. The horror. APKUWAIT CITY (AP) — A Kuwaiti official says authorities abruptly ended a music concert by an Egyptian singer in this conservative Muslim country when a young female fan jumped on stage, hugged the male singer and gave him a kiss.
Qanas al-Adwani, who heads the government department that monitors public entertainment, says the girl's behavior at Friday's concert "defied the conservative traditions" of Kuwait.
Al-Adwani also said Sunday that the fan's behavior broke controls on public entertainment, which were imposed by influential Muslim fundamentalists after they failed in 1997 to ban concerts altogether. Concerts have to be licensed by the government, and monitors from the Information Ministry watch the crowd to make sure nobody stands up to dance.

Kuwait to Block Access to Youtube
Kuwait is to block internet access to youtube because of videos that could offend muslims. Which videos are those? Videos in which terrorists invoke verses of the quran/hadith to justify murder, pillage and terror? Or videos that actually point that out? Reuters
KUWAIT, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Kuwait has ordered local Internet service providers to block online video-sharing website YouTube over clips that could offend Muslims.
"Since the website displays the Koran in the form of songs sung with the oud (stringed instrument) ... and displays disrespectful pictures of the Prophet Mohammad ... please proceed with immediate effect in blocking the website www.youtube.com," read a copy of a memo obtained by Reuters.
The Ministry of Communications was not immediately available for a comment. The website could still be accessed in Kuwait on Monday.
