Suicide Bomber targets Canadian Convoy

The taliban killed 37 people trying to get a Canadian convoy. This is the 3rd suicide bomb attack on Canadian forces in the past week alone.

"A white Toyota Corolla car rammed the second vehicle in the (military) convoy as it passed through the bazaar," said Hakim, who witnessed the attack from his grocery store.

"Then there was a huge explosion. It was dust. I do not know what happened to me."
The taliban have stepped up their suicide attacks against Canadian forces because the politicians on parliament hill are squabbling over when to withdraw Canadian troops from Afghanistan. The taliban are hoping influence the Canadian government to withdraw Canadian troops sooner.

The taliban are desperate for Canadian forces to leave because they are scared shitless of them!

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - A suicide car bomber targeting a Canadian military convoy detonated his explosives at a busy market in southern Afghanistan on Monday, killing 37 civilians and wounding three Canadians, Afghan officials said.

Kandahar Gov. Asadullah Khalid described the Canadian injuries as light, but said many of the 30 civilians who were also wounded were in critical condition and the death count could rise.
....
The attack was in Spin Boldak, a town in Kandahar province near the border with Pakistan.

Abdul Razeq, the Spin Boldak border police chief, says one of the Canadian military vehicles was heavily damaged, as were several shops and civilian vehicles.

The Canadian military refused to disclose details immediately. A spokesman confirmed that a Canadian convoy was in the area at the time, but would say only that no Canadians were killed.
