Another Bombing in India

Update: Up to 29 people have been killed and a 100 more injured in a string of bombings in Ahmedabad. A total of 16 bombings across the city have been reported. A group calling itself the Indian Mujahedeen have claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks. The Sydney Morning Herald


A police spokesman said 29 bodies had been recovered and more than 100 people had been admitted to hospital on Saturday. Many were hit by flying nuts, bolts and ball bearings packed into the bombs that were clearly designed to cause maximum casualties.

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - At least two people were killed and 55 people wounded in a series of blasts in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad on Saturday, officials said.

"At least 55 people have been hospitalised and two people have died so far," Shakeel Ahmad, a junior home minister told reporters. "We are on high alert."
