A hospital in North Western Pakistan was hit by a bomb blast killing at least 23 people. No, this is not because Musharraf left office. I don't understand why everyone from Ed Morrisey to the Gateway pundit are praising Musharraf as a 'staunch' US ally.
Musharraf at best was an inconsistent ally. Did Musharraf clean up the ISI of taliban sympathisers? Did he decisively attack taliban's/al Qaida's safe haven in North Western Pakistan? Did he allow Western intelligence agents to interview AQ Khan? No, no and no to all of the above. But take $11 billion in 'aid' from the US he did.
At least with Pakistan's current parliament I know where they stand. They stand with the terrorists.CNN

A bomb blast at a hospital in northwest Pakistan killed at least 23 people Tuesday, authorities said. Another 15 to 20 were injured. The explosion occurred near the emergency entrance to the Dera Ismail Khan District Hospital, said Malik Naveed, inspector general of police for the North West Frontier Province, where the district is located.
The bomb went off while a crowd gathered outside the hospital to protest the shooting death of a Shi'ite Muslim leader, Naveed said.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the explosion, but police think a suicide bomber may have been involved.
