Abdullah Khadr's, the eldest son of Canada's al Qaida family, lawyers are proposing Khadr be released on $300000 bail and be allowed to work at a local mosque. Are you freakin' kidding me? We're gonna let someone who's charged with aiding al Qaida work at a mosque?? That's like letting someone charged with pepophilia go out on bail and work at a child day care facility. Toronto Star

The eldest son of Canada's infamous Khadr family should be released on $300,000 bail and allowed to work at a local mosque pending the outcome of his extradition fight with the United States, where he is wanted on terrorism-related charges, his lawyers plan to argue today.
Ottawa-born Abdullah Khadr, in custody since his arrest more than 2 1/2 years ago, was denied bail in December 2005 after the judge decided the case for his extradition appeared to be solid.
The U.S. is seeking to try Khadr, 27, on charges of buying weapons for Al Qaeda and plotting to kill Americans in Afghanistan.
Under his bail proposal, Khadr would hold an office job at the Salaheddin Islamic Centre in east-end Toronto.
Khadr's defence is also proposing he reside with his maternal grandparents in the city's east end and that he wear an electronic monitoring bracelet capable of tracking his whereabouts at all times.
His grandparents have pledged their house as $250,000 surety, while the Islamic centre and community have raised $50,000.
In an affidavit, however, Crown lawyers argue the centre has ties to terrorism because Khadr's father, who had known links to terrorist leader Osama bin Laden, once had his charity's corporate office at the mosque.
