Taliban Threatening More Attacks

Can someone please tell the taliban that islam is a religion of peace and does not condone any violence? ICNA, I'm looking at you. AKI

Karachi, 21 August (AKI ) - By Syed Saleem Shahzad - As the death toll mounted from the twin suicide bomb attacks in Pakistan on Thursday, the Taliban claimed responsibility and immediately threatened to launch other attacks.

At least 70 people were killed and 80 others injured in two suicide bomb blasts that targeted Pakistan's main military arms factory in Wah outside Islamabad.

The Wah Ordinance Factory manufactures arms and ammunition for Pakistan's armed forces.

"We carried out this attack and soon similar blasts will happen all across the world if the military operations do not stop in the Swat Valley and Bajaur,” spokesperson for Pakistan's Tehrik-i-Taliban, Moulvi Omar, said in a statement issued to the national media.

Pakistani Taliban leaders threatened earlier this month to carry out suicide attacks in major cities, including Karachi and Islamabad, unless the military stopped its offensive in the northwestern Swat Valley in the troubled North West Frontier Province.

Advisor to the Prime Minister on the Interior Rehman Malik on Thursday claimed security forces had prevented at least fifty suicide attacks across the country on 13 and 14 August.
