The judge over-seeing the first trial in Canada involving the anti-terror laws informed the jury that there is enough evidence to find Khawaja guilty on terrorism charges. Ottawa Citizen

OTTAWA - In a crushing blow to the defence, the judge in the landmark Momin Khawaja trial offered a possible glimpse of the final verdict on Monday, saying there is evidence for a jury to find the 29-year-old Ottawa man guilty on seven terrorism charges, three of which carry automatic life sentences.
The comments by Ontario Superior Court Justice Douglas Rutherford, who is hearing the case without a jury, slammed the door on a defence motion to have the charges quashed on the grounds the Crown has failed to prove its case.According to Greenspon, all of his client's activities, including attending a makeshift terror camp in Pakistan for a few days in 2003, were part of Khawaja's plan to fight with insurgents in Afghanistan, which he said is lawfully exempted under an "armed conflict" provision in Canada's new anti-terrorism laws.
Oh I see, Khawaja only wanted to kill Canadians, British and US people in Afghanistan. Well then, let him go.
Greenspon says members of the already-convicted British terrorist group Khawaja associated with deceived him into believing the camp and all of their collective activities - including instructing him to build a remote-control device that would detonate explosives - were in aid of supporting and joining the Afghan insurgency when, in fact, the group was plotting to kill and injure countless bystanders in London.
