Terrorists don't like to commute

A report by Brent Smith in the National Institute of Justice showed that terrorists don't like to commute. The study looked at four different groups of terrorists, international, leftist, right wing and environmental, in the US and looked at where the terrorists resided and where they planned to attack.

The study found that 44% of all terrorists lived within 30 miles of their target. But if you look at international terrorists (I think this is referring to jihadis) the numbers are even higher. Nearly three-fifths lived within 30 miles of their target.

The study also looked at how long, on average, it takes terrorists to prepare for their attacks. For international terrorists the average time to prepare for an attack is 92 days. The study showed that the majority of the preparations for attack are completed 15-30 days before the actual attack date.
