From XinhuanetKABUL, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Afghan National Army (ANA) backed by air strike of the international troops have killed at least ten Taliban insurgents and detained five others in southern Afghan province of Zabul, said an official on Sunday.
ANA and international forces launched a joint operation Saturday morning to flush Taliban activities out of the remote and mountainous area of Daychopan district, Fazel Bari, the district chief told Xinhua.
"The combined force engaged militants with both air strike and ground fire killing at least 10 militants and wounding five," Barisaid.
"The five wounded were arrested on the spot," he said, adding "and there were no casualties on ANA or international forces."
