Merry Christmas taliban scum. National PostCoalition forces killed 11 men and detained two others following an early-morning gun battle that broke out yesterday in the Maiwand district, west of Kandahar City.

All those killed in the operation were suspected Taliban militants believed to be responsible for deadly attacks on coalition soldiers and Afghan civilians using improvised explosive devices, according to U. S. Army spokesman Colonel Jerry O'Hara.
"No martyrs here," Col. O'Hara said in a written statement.
The colonel said a key cell leader was among those killed.
