I think Pakistan will pull the same stunt that they pulled with AQ Khan. They'll arrest the bastards but will not extradite them or alloq and foreign intelligence agents to interrogate them. Globe and MailISLAMABAD — Pakistan arrested militant leader Hafiz Mohammed Saeed yesterday and closed offices of his Islamic organization - accused of being a front for those who carried out last month's attacks in Mumbai - as Islamabad's crackdown against extremist outfits widened.
Mr. Saeed was placed under home detention just hours after he gave a news conference, lashing out at United Nations sanctions imposed against him and his group on Wednesday.
Islamabad issued warrants for the detention of eight leaders of Jamaat ud Dawa, sealing several of its offices across the country and freezing Pakistani banks associated with the organization, officials said. The move risks a violent backlash by the group but it will ease the massive international pressure on Islamabad.
The Pakistani authorities were reacting to a UN Security Council decision passed late Wednesday to put Jamaat ud Dawa on a terrorist list, along with Mr. Saeed and three other members.
