Hamas sees this battle against Israel as simple war for islam

People need to understand what Hamas stand for,. Make no mistake this group see no other solution apart from Jihad (Holy war) as the way forward. Hamas see this not just as a battle for a piece of land but a war for Islam itself. Again a quote from their charter (The imperialistic forces in the Capitalist West and the Communist East, support the enemy with all their might, in money and in men. These forces take turns in doing that. The day Islam appears, the forces of infidelity would unite to challenge it, for the infidels are of one nation).

Hamas will oppose anything and anyone including Palestinian people who want to live in peace unless under their terms and conditions. The vast majority of Palestinian and Israeli people want to live in peace side by side.

It was Hamas who ripped up the ceasefire document and the next day fired 90 rockets into Israel. Hamas also fired over 3,500 rockets into Israel during the ceasefire. It has to be noted these rockets are not crude home made rockets and bring over 800,000 Israeli civilians within range.
