It's in the mullahacracy's best interests to prolong the current conflict between Israel and Hamas. This conflict keeps the world's attention away from Iran's nuclear weapons program, and maybe most importantly keeps Israel occupied.
Some analysts predicted Israel would strike at Iran's nuclear installations sometime between the US elections and the inauguration ceremony. However, with Israel busy pounding Hamas into the ground, an airstrike inside Iran seems unlikely. XinhuanetTEHRAN, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Sunday called on world Muslims to defend Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the official IRNA news agency reported.
In a statement released on Sunday, IRGC invited world Muslims to "defend the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza Strip" and urged "Muslims of the world should stay united against world arrogance, the criminal Zionists in particular."
The statement also asked Muslim nations "to line up against wicked party with more solidarity than ever", according to the report.
