7 taliban killed, 3 captured


Why do I always find these stories through a Chinese news source. When will I start seeing these stories on CNN, the Telegraph, Reuters etc...? Xinhuanet

KABUL, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Afghan and U.S.-led Coalition Forces killed seven militants and detained three more during operation earlier Tuesday in former Taliban strong hold Kandahar province of southern Afghanistan, a press release of U.S. military issued here said.

"In Khakriz district of Kandahar, the combined forces raided a compound that housed Improvised Explosive Device (IED) facilitators. Two armed militants who engaged the force with grenades were killed," the press release added.

It also said that five more armed militants who had fled the compound and maneuvered on the force too were killed and three suspected militants were detained near the compound.
