El Paso border screenings unchanged by swine flu scare

First off , would the border patrol agents Know what to look for ?
The swine flu epidemic is going to have to get Much worse before any U.S. official will even think about doing Anything at the Border ! the money to be made on both sides of the border is more important than people dying from the Flu !

EL PASO Times- The swine flu that has spread beyond Mexico's borders and prompted U.S. officials on Sunday to declare a public health emergency has not changed the way people are screened when they enter the county through El Paso's border crossings, federal officials said Sunday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers are already using a set of protocols developed in past years to screen for people who appear to be ill, CBP spokesman Roger Maier said.

Health authorities in the United States on Sunday morning reported 20 cases of swine flu in five states so far, with two of those cases reported in Guadalupe County, Texas, which is near San Antonio.

Unlike in Mexico where the same strain appears to be killing dozens of people, cases in the United State have been mild.
