Thats Funny ! I don't recall hearing the Canadian Government Complaining when we were forced to import Canadian goods at the cost of thousands of American Jobs ! We are just trying to help our Economy and our people by trying to create some work ! The Buy American Movement is not really a movement at all , it is more a reinforcement of an old agreement we had for Government funded Jobs ! TO USE AMERICAN MADE GOODS WHENEVER POSSIBLE AND AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE ! Attention Canadian Neighbors , It is not that we have anything against you ! the world is a screwed up place right now ! we are trying to save our country from ruin ! If we have no money to buy your goods or the need to , then your economy will fail right along side us !

WHISTLER, British Columbia (Reuters) - Canadian municipal leaders threatened to retaliate against the "Buy America" movement in the United States on Saturday, warning trade restrictions will hurt both countries' economies.
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities endorsed a controversial proposal to support communities that refuse to buy products from countries that put trade restrictions on products and services from Canada.
The measure is a response to a provision in the U.S. economic stimulus package passed by Congress in February that says public works projects should use iron, steel and other goods made in the United States.
The United States is Canada's largest trading partner, and Canadians have complained the restrictions will bar their companies from billions of dollars in business that they have previously had access to.
"This U.S. protectionist policy is hurting Canadian firms, costing Canadian jobs and damaging Canadian efforts to grow our economy in the midst of a worldwide recession," said Sherbrooke, Quebec, Mayor Jean Perrault, also president of the federation that represents cities and towns across Canada.

As a Canadian, I have no problem seeing NAFTA collapse completely. After subtracting energy and raw materials, the US has a trade surplus with Canada.
Keep your jobs. We'll buy our goods from Europe and produce whatever else we need for ourselves.
I'm pretty sure you will continue to buy our energy, though you will no longer have preferential access to it.

Complain when your businesses were raking in the Millions of dollars at the expense of our jobs ! Nafta, was never A fair deal to begin with , and it is not like the U.S is specifically trying to Harm the Canadian Economy ! We are just trying to help ours ! And we don't receive all our energy from Canada !
Oh protectionism, it's always a war between who can be more greedy. Look at this "movement" now. You think it's good for the US but in the long run, everyone just gets pissed and stops trading with you since you always favor your own businesses. World trade is a huge part of every economy in every country in the world...

What you Are not Seeing is that the whole world is in a economic Tizzy ! what we are trying to do Is save our economy Just like you all said you are trying to do , You would rather see The U.S. lose more Jobs so that you can keep raking in the money !
We are trying to work out a deal here With our neighbors , But there seems to be a lot of bickering ( Mostly Politicians doing there best )Just remember when the U.S. goes down Canada will be right behind , It would be better to work together than bitch because you might lose a little Money !
We Need to be strong as a country So that we may continue prospering ,With Canada right there with Us !
