From The Hill: Conyers blasts 'GOP accusations of Muslim Spies"
Responding to allegations from Republican lawmakers that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) sought to plant Muslim "spies" in the Capitol, Conyers issued a scathing statement on his colleagues' accusations.
"It shouldn't need to be said in 2009, and after the historic election of our first African-American president, but let me remind all my colleagues that patriotic Americans of all races, religions, and beliefs have the right - and the responsibility - to participate in our political process, including by volunteering to work in Congressional offices," Conyers said.
"Numerous Muslim-American interns have served the House ably and they deserve our appreciation and respect, not attacks on their character or patriotism," the veteran lawmaker added.
Conyers's district includes the city of Dearborn, Mich., a city known for having one of the largest concentrations of Arab and Muslim citizens in the U.S. (Ed. note: What a coinky-dink.)
Loretta Sanchez joins the dhimmi chorus: Oh dear, she's appalled about the "Muslim Intern Spy Hunt".
"Earlier today, Politico reported that some of my Republican colleagues have formally asked the House Sergeant at Arms to investigate the Council on American-Islamic Relations for "planting" Muslim interns and staffers on the Hill. I am appalled by this request, and the insinuation that Muslim-Americans are somehow conspiring against this country through their work on Capitol Hill.
As a strong advocate for diversity and religious freedom, I find these claims to be outrageous and offensive. I urge the rest of my colleagues to join me in denouncing this witch hunt, which is clearly intended to create fear and distrust in our Capitol Hill community."
And it looks like Andre Carson finally got a hold of his PR person and came up with a strategy.
<--- Rep. Andre Carson (D-Muslim American) and Muslim Mafia super secret spy, Chris Gaubatz.
What did I tell you?"Justin Ohlemiller, Carson's communications director, said in an interview the photo is one of dozens members of Congress take every week with constituents and at events. He didn't know the man was pretending to be Muslim and doesn't recall interacting with him.
"I don't think my boss was necessarily aware of who this person was or that he was posing as a Muslim to help write the book," Ohlemiller said.
He said his boss thinks the Republicans are wasting taxpayer money on "extremist, off-the-wall stuff" and added they have provided no proof there were spies."
Forget the Whine-o-Gram. Now CAIR is playing the death threat card.
Republican accusations that a nonprofit Muslim advocacy group placed “spies” on key House national security committees have spurred a death threat, the group said.Oh, I'm sure they have. That's what they do - use the American legal system as a protection racket.
The spokesman for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) said in an e-mail that he had received a faxed death threat on Thursday following accusations by four GOP members of the Congressional Anti-Terrorism Caucus.
The fax had a picture of a gallows and stated that spokesman Ibrahim Hooper would be hanged “for treason.”
“[CAIR’s] national communications director today received a faxed death threat that stated: 'Muslim Neanderthal Dougie Hooper (AKA Ibrahim Hooper) will be soon hanged for treason against the United States’,” Hooper wrote in an e-mail. CAIR has informed the FBI of the threat, he said.
Meanwhile, Muslim Mafia gains over a 1,000,000 places to become #1 on Amazon.com's Current Events list.
