Abu Hamza to get $1200 bathroom taps

Speaking of islamists in British prisons...Abu Hamza, the infamous hook for a hand terrorist, has gotten a pair of new bathroom taps that cost the British taxpayer $1200. The funny thing is that he has been using regular 'twist' taps for the past 5 years and he might be extradicted to the States any time now. So why would they spend over a grand for these new taps.

Twelve hundred bucks for a pair of bathroom taps seems pretty expensive to me. Are these gold plated taps or something.

DRIPPY jail bosses were last night accused of bowing to the demands of hook-handed hate preacher Abu Hamza - by wasting £650 on new taps for his cell.

Plumbers replaced standard twist taps Hamza has used for years with chrome lever ones in top-security Belmarsh jail.

A prison source said: "It seems that whenever he says 'Jump', the authorities ask him, 'How high?'. No one in here can understand why we're suddenly spending the money to do this when he's had no problem using the same taps as everyone else for the five years he's been here."American prosecutors want him to stand trial on terrorism charges, including plotting an outrage in the Yemen and setting up al-Qaeda training camps. But he is appealing to the Court of Human Rights in a bid to avoid a long stretch in a US jail.[...]

The source added: "We're bending over to help him when we should be concentrating on booting him out of the country.

"His sentence here is finished, so he could be sent to America - meaning the tap adjustments are pointless. It's a waste of money."
