A follow up on the UK "religious leader" arrested on terror charges.

The family of a spiritual leader arrested in anti-terror raids have described his continued detention as 'disgraceful and unacceptable'.

Shaykh Asif Farooqui, 62, is among five men being questioned over allegations they were involved in recruiting young British Muslims for terror training camps in Afghanistan.

The Muslim community where Shaykh Farooqui lives, in Deane, Bolton, has been rocked by the community leader's arrest.

A petition has been set up at his mosque - the Al (sic) Rahman in Randal Street - calling for his immediate release. Neighbours told how he is considered to be a Wali - blessed by Allah - and is highly-respected by hundreds of people. (Ed. Note: That is precisely the problem.)

In a statement released by his family, who live on Willows Lane, said: "It is simply incredible to those that know him and his work to imagine he could be involved in the promotion or incitement of any kind of violence.

Unh-huh. I will wait for the evidence, thank you very much.
