I found this post at Freedetainees.org where the claim is made that Tarek was not only blackmailed by the FBI, he was also set up by them for not becoming 'a tool to corroborate any FBI claims or accusations against members of the community that might arise'.
Yes. The noble Tarek 'refused to backstab his Muslim brothers and sisters' so the evil FBI moved in and trapped him.
Wah! The injustice! The inhumanity!
You know - if you just stumbled upon freedetainees.org and had NOT read this you might just go along with their scenario wouldn't you?
It looks like plenty of people are doing just that. There's a Free Tarek petition you can sign (1185 signatures at present).

And don't forget FreeTarek.com (complete with barbed wire!) which is where you can see things like: Who is Tarek Mehanna? And "Tariq (sic) Mehanna: Obama's latest target".
The FreeTarek.com site is where I also found the video below. Entitled 'Tarek Mehanna's playful cat' - it is actually Tarek tormenting his cat with a laser pointer. It sure cracks him up. (To me, it's borderline animal abuse.)
