An honor killing update: Noor Faleh Almaleki

Noor Almaleki

Hearing for Honor Killing father postponed for the THIRD time.

A man accused of killing his own daughter because she was "too Westernized" was due to be back in court Monday, but for the third time, his arraignment was cancelled.

Faleh Hassan Almaleki faces more charges - one of them could be upgraded to murder. His last two hearings were postponed because the Iraqi immigrant was on suicide watch in jail.

And remember the fire at the Almaleki residence? It's cause has been ruled 'undetermined'.

The cause of an early morning fire last Friday at the Glendale home of Faleh Hassan Almaleki has been listed as undetermined

...

Firefighters responded to a call for a garage fire around 3:40 a.m. Nov. 6 at a home in the 7200 block of West Nicolet Drive.

Recognizing it was Almaleki's address, media immediately responded to the scene, but Firefighter Daniel Valenzuela said it appears as just a routine garage fire.

There were nine people in the home, seven who lived there and two family members who were visiting,” Valenzuela said. “The smoke alarm went off and everyone made it out safely.”
