Yet another person saying that we need to talk to the taliban in order to end the war. The past month has seen a lot of buzz about the need to negotiate, talk, dialogue with the taliban in order to end the war. I think talks with the taliban will happen and that we'll simply hand back Afghanistan to them.

The relaunched American war effort will be undermined unless Afghans are allowed to take the lead in talking to the Taliban, the Afghan ambassador to Washington told The Daily Telegraph.
Said Jawad said that future attempts at negotiation needed to be much better organised and co-ordinated, after years of disjointed initiatives.
"We have to have a systematic approach on talking to the Taliban," he said. "The current approach is kind of ad hoc and done by different sources, different countries and intelligent agencies, and that has created a lot of confusion in Afghanistan."
