Brits to share intel on al Qaeda & taliban with Pakistan

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has promised to provide Pakistan with intelligence on al Qaeda and the taliban.

I don't think that is a good idea. Especially since the ISI, Pakistan's secret service, still supports the taliban. The CIA avoids sharing intel with Pakistan for that very reason.

From Sana News

Addressing a joint news conference along with Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani in here on Thursday, the British Prime Minister said Pakistan has made significant progress in tackling terrorism and the Britain and the international community will help build its capacity in effectively countering the menace.[...]

He said during talks with Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, “we agreed to further step up our efforts in crushing the terrorism which poses a grave threat to the international peace and security.” He said Britain will provide the intelligence information needed to dismantle Al-Qaeda and Taliban.
