Orange Bowl coldest in history

And how is it that they can say that the earth is warming ? (Miami Herald)

ALL BUNDLED UP
When Lenny and Bonnie Hines left their home in Davenport, Iowa, last week for a vacation in the Sunshine State, the last thing they expected was to have to be bundling up.

But that's what they were doing at Land Shark Stadium as temperatures dipped to record lows in the 76th annual Orange Bowl.

The temperature of 49 degrees at kickoff made Tuesday's game the coldest Orange Bowl game ever. The previous record was 57 degrees when Kansas beat Virginia Tech 24-21 in 2008.

``We're just mad because it's cold and we haven't been able to wear shorts at all on this vacation,'' Lenny Hines said. ``The hottest it's been since we've been in Florida is 63 degrees. But we aren't complaining. There were five, six inches of snow on the ground when we left, and I think the high was 10 [degrees].''
