Pakistani parliament prays for Bin Laden

With allies like these, who needs enemies. Times of India

Maulvi Asmatullah of the JUI-F, which is led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, stood from his seat and offered prayers for bin Laden.

He was joined by other legislators from his party as well as from the opposition benches. Maulana Fazlur Rehman, a leading Deobandi scholar of Pakistan, was recently in India during which he met leading clerics of Darul Uloom, Deoband.

Fazlur's brother, Ata-ur Rehman, was the second legislator to join Asmatullah. "God bless Osama bin Laden and rest his soul in peace,'' the legislators said in one voice. The ruling PPP did not join them, which gave the clerics an opportunity to question their Islamic credentials before journalists outside parliament.
