Iran Defiant

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced that Iran will continue to enrich uranium despite the possibility of another UN sanction.

The whole scenario is playing into his hands. He wants to create a conflict in order to realize his vision

TEHRAN (Reuters) - World powers can pass U.N. sanctions resolutions for 100 years without deterring Iran from its nuclear ambitions, Iran's president said on Saturday.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's defiant comments came a day after a report by the U.N. nuclear watchdog said Iran was being more transparent about its nuclear plans but was not doing enough to clear up concerns about whether Tehran had military aims.
....
If they want to continue with that path (of sanctions), we will not be harmed. They can issue resolutions for 100 years," the president told state television in an interview.

Those leading the bid to impose more penalties, an apparent reference to Washington, and its allies could not "bring the Iranian nation to its knees," he said.

"If they continue (with this pressure), we have designed reciprocal actions," he said without elaborating.

Iranian officials have previously warned that the Islamic Republic could review cooperation with the IAEA, if pushed.

The president declared the IAEA report a "victory" for the Iranian nation, pointing to areas of the document which showed Iranian cooperation had cleared up suspicions.

The IAEA Director's statement:

"[W]e have made quite good progress in clarifying the outstanding issues that had to do with Iran´s past nuclear activities, with the exception of one issue, and that is the alleged weaponization studies that supposedly Iran has conducted in the past. We have managed to clarify all the remaining outstanding issues, including the most important issue, which is the scope and nature of Iran´s enrichment programme. "

Sounds like the US is getting desperate to try to "prove" that Iran has a weapons program when the IAEA hasn't found anything after 5 years of inspections, so we have "alleged" studies "supposedly" about weaponization. Remember the "Yellowcake from Niger" lie of the Bush administration?

listen anonymous, Iran was secretly pursuing nuclear power without notifying the U.N. as is required by the non-proliferation act. Second Iran doesn't need nuclear power, they can power all their homes and car for 100s of years and for a lot less money than nuke power. Third of all, why would they bury their nuclear installations under 1000s of meters underground and dispersed throughout Iran. If they were truly after peaceful nuclear power they would've come clean from the get go instead of hiding and lying for 25+ years
