Pathetic Protest Calls for Khadr's Release

Khadr's mother, Maha Elsamnah, brother Karim Khadr and sister Zaynab Khadr joined the protest.

The Canadian Peace Alliance organized a protest in front of the US consulate in Toronto. The protesters called for the Canadian government to demand the release of Omar Khadr from Gitmo. Omar Khadr was captured after a firefight in Afghanistan. He killed a US medic by throwing a grenade as the medic approached Khadr. Toronto Star

One thing I don't get is why are these peaceniks defending the very people who ignited this war? They defend child killers, terrorists tyrannical thugs and defame countries that stand for freedom, liberty and justice.

Shouts and cries filled the street along with howling winds and a lone piper's lament as protesters raised placards calling for the release of Khadr, who was captured as a 15-year-old in 2002 during a firefight in Afghanistan.

"This is just the beginning of a larger campaign. Expect to see more rallies and ongoing campaigns from people calling on the Canadian government to actually do something to get Khadr back here for a just trial," said Lacombe.
