AG Holder to visit Detroit - building bridges to local Muslims and kissing civil rights groups butts

Holder and ALPACT 1st honorary You notice he's not going to Ft. Hood to build bridges to our troops or kissing the wounds of our brave soldiers.

From Detroit Free Press: (Thinking of you, #1 Infidel.)

As U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder prepares to speak tonight in Detroit to minority groups and law enforcement officials, his department faces criticism from some who say he shouldn't be meeting with Muslim groups. He also is expected to face protesters upset over the shooting death of Muslim leader Luqman Ameen Abdullah last month in Dearborn during a shootout with FBI agents. (Ed. Note: The Stop Gitmo North crowd WILL be there. Bless you, gang. You crazy bunch of extremists.)

But despite the naysayers, federal law enforcement and metro Detroit Arab Americans say they're committed to sustaining a dialogue that has grown in scope and intensity over the past year.

Two high-profile incidents in recent weeks -- the Ft. Hood, Texas, shootings and the death of Abdullah -- have highlighted the importance of coming to the table to discuss everything from racial profiling to raids of Muslim institutions, say advocates and federal officials.

"It's important through thick and thin to have open lines of communication," said Troy attorney Shereef Akeel, who is part of a group of Arab Americans that meets with federal officials every two months, "so the best decisions will be made in the future."

More about the event can be found here and here.

Luqman abdullah ameen protest Civil Rights group seeks to meet with AG Holder.

"... several Muslim and civil rights groups want the U.S. Justice Department to investigate the shooting.

Ron Scott is with the Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality, one of the groups calling for the investigation. Scott says he plans to bring up the shooting when Holder is in Detroit for the banquet:

"We expect him to comment on it. Otherwise it becomes sort of an exercise in a nice evening without the substance in people's lives." Scott received verbal confirmation from the U.S. Attorney's Office that Holder will meet with Scott and a few other community leaders before the banquet.

And didn't I tell you that Luqman was destined to become the new Mumia? Beware the moonbat-muslim axis of evil, possums.
