Playing catch up ... with Tarek Mehanna

Oy! I am sooo behind the eight ball. Damn you Anwar al-Awlaki!)

When we last left Tarek Mehanna he was cooling his heels in the slammer and looking for bail. While his friends were busily setting up websites, signing petitions and claiming he was set up by the FBI because he 'wouldn't backstab Muslims in the back' and cooperate with them.

God forbid, he should cooperate with the FBI like a good AMERICAN CITIZEN, right? (Feh.)

About that bail? DENIED. (Heh.)

His lawyer has picked up the FBI asked terror suspect to be an informant meme and is running with it.

While his supporters try to get in front of the cameras and reporters. "Many rally for alleged terrorist"

Well, maybe a 100 - but it included kids from the Worcester Islamic center where Tarek was a teacher. (Note to self: Check out that place.)

In addition the students made a plea to the court, writing letters to the judge saying that Tarek always said that "non-violence was the way to go". Unh-huh.
