(Reuters) - U.S. home improvement chain Lowe's Monday defended its decision to pull advertising from reality TV show "All-American Muslim" amid charges the company had given in to bigotry.
"All-American Muslim," which airs on TLC, follows several Muslim families in and around the Detroit suburb of Dearborn, Michigan, which is home to one of the largest Muslim populations in the United States and its largest mosque.
It has been accused by one Florida group to be propaganda. But the decision by Lowe's sparked an outcry by defenders of the show.
Lowe's employed its Facebook page to defend itself and called "All-American Muslim," a "lightning rod" for "strong political and societal views."
Lowe's spokeswoman Karen Cobb said the company was one of "dozens" of companies to pull their advertising late last month. Names of other companies were not immediately available.
Laurie Goldberg, a TLC spokeswoman, declined to say how many companies have pulled their advertising from the show, which attracts about a million viewers per week.

Christian call to prayer riles Muslims
Typical of radical Muslim loving Muslims. Dawud (I'm a real douchebag) Walid, would rather not see a christian prayer gathering in Dearbornistan especially one that addresses some of the problems in the area and the world.
If you have a pulse and you refuse to see what is happening in the world you might be a Douchebag too ! It takes a minimal amount of time to watch the news to see that in the Islamic World; their is some problems, it is painfully obvious.

Dearborn — The local head of a national Muslim civil rights group says a Christian prayer summit to be held at Ford Field next week promotes anti-Muslim sentiment and is warning local mosques to step up their security.
Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations — Michigan, met Wednesday with Muslim activists to voice his concern over the rhetoric he fears could be at the center of the event Nov. 11.
"There's a bigger force or movement behind this prayer summit and how they're literally demonizing Muslims," he said.
But Metro Detroit pastors involved in the event say the gathering is merely meant to help Detroit, not target Muslims.
"I don't know anything about that," said Bishop Edgar Vann of Second Ebenezer Church. "People are coming here to pray for our city and that's what I'm concerned about. Christians will be praying, but it's open to anyone."

Terry Jones says he'll sue over his arrest

A very disgusting display of extreme Dhimmitude in Dearbornistan on Friday, we no longer have the freedom to speak our minds when it comes to Islam.
Fridays ruling was not about Terry Jones Creating Violence, it was about a group of Rejects in the religion of Islam not being able to contain themselves, they were prepped and ready to riot outside the Mosque, hell they were out in force screaming at them at the court house, Amazing they were expressing their freedom of speech!
They even had the Detroit swat team on the roof of the mosque!
No this is not over yet!
Regardless of what you think of Pastor Jones, he, like the muslims in Dearbornistan have the right to say it. It would be up to the people who do not like the message to conduct themselves as civil human beings and not create the Violence.

The controversy over Florida pastor Terry Jones is unlikely to end anytime soon.
He said he plans to file a lawsuit against the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office and other government offices in connection with his arrest Friday following a jury trial that found he was likely to create a "breach of the peace" for plans to protest outside the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn.
And he still vows to conduct his protest, but it will be Friday outside Dearborn City Hall.
"We invite every American who still believes in the freedom and rights that our Constitution guarantees to come and stand with us," Jones said Sunday.
The controversial Quran-burning pastor said he is working with the Ann Arbor-based Thomas More Law Center because "we were arrested for something we had not done."
Jones' case is unique, said Richard Thompson, the center's president and chief counsel. "There are legal experts and commentators from all sides of the political spectrum who agree that what happened to Pastor Jones was a violation of the First Amendment."
Constitutional law expert Robert Sedler said he is glad Jones is challenging the "bizarre" ruling by 19th District Judge Mark Somers requiring Jones to post a "peace bond," jailing him for refusing and ordering him to stay away from the mosque for three years — all before Jones held the demonstration.
"The Supreme Court says you cannot deny a permit because of the message," said Sedler, a Wayne State University Law School professor. "The U.S. Constitution supersedes everything, which is why this is so bizarre."
At the trial, prosecutors cited an imam's remark that some see burning a Quran as worth 1,000 lives to explain why violence might erupt.

Man held over threat to Dearborn mosque

CHICAGO - A man found with explosives outside one of the nation's largest mosques in suburban Detroit is in jail facing felony charges, police said on Sunday.
Roger Stockham, 63, of California, was arrested with explosives last Monday outside the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, Michigan, and faces felony charges that carry up to 35 years in prison, Dearborn police told Reuters by phone.
Stockham was arraigned on January 26 on one felony count of making a false report or terrorist threat and one count of possessing explosives with unlawful intent.
He carried class-C fireworks -- called "consumer fireworks" by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, a police source said.
"It was a substantial quantity (of explosives), enough to do us harm," said Kassem Allie, 53, the executive administrator of the Islamic Center.
Almost 30 percent of Dearborn's 97,775 residents are Arab, according to a U.S. Census Bureau report from 2006. The Islamic Center of America is a 70,000 square-foot facility that can accommodate 1,000 people, according to news reports.

"I had high hopes" for the report, said Omar Regan, son of Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah, killed Oct. 28 in a shootout with FBI agents inside a Dearborn warehouse. "We're disappointed."
Regan spoke at the Muslim Center in Detroit, where about a dozen religious and community leaders gathered to denounce the federal report released Wednesday. About five were Christian, and they urged people to not dismiss Abdullah just because he was Muslim.
"Don't look at the fact that the brother was wearing a turban," said Pastor Charles Williams II of King Solomon Baptist Church in Detroit.

Dearborn Police chief regrets imam's death

Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad said today he regrets that a Muslim leader died in Dearborn during a shootout with FBI agents.
But he supports the view of the state Attorney General report released Thursday that said no state laws were broken in the Oct. 28 shooting of Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah in Dearborn.
“The unnatural loss of life under any circumstances is profoundly regrettable and this case is no different,” said Chief Haddad in a statement. “Imam Luqman Abdullah had family, friends, and a religious following who have all been impacted by this event.”
At the same time, he said Abdullah caused his own death. The Dearborn police department interviewed 85 witnesses and FBI agents in their own investigation.
“It is important to note that four out of five of the defendants in the warehouse surrendered without incident and were not injured,” the city of Dearborn said. “It is clear that the decisions made by Imam Luqman Abdullah, when confronted by the arresting authorities on that day, put into action a series of events that ultimately lead to his death. Careful review of the facts have revealed that Imam Luqman Abdullah fired three shots in the direction of agents, which resulted in the death of an FBI K-9 (dog) prior to any agents returning fire.”
